  • @ceneg it's an old brazilian 12 string guitar (with 6 strings) called Di Giorgio (circa 1975).

  • beautifully played........hats off to you eluedy

  • What´s the voice?

  • Good work my friend, this is truly impressive

  • For a song like this I think I would REALLY help if we could see yr right hand as well. Still - great job

  • I think, if you are an artist, it's a great thrill to see the crowd goes wild at a concert, or the announcement that you've sold your millionth album. But to see people actually do your music on their guitar, bass or vocals must be the most impressive thing in an artists career. It just reveals the fact that people don't just listen or like your music; it's one of their daily thoughts and passions and activities.

oh and you play this very, very well.

  • @kutbaag thanx!!

  • You've got five stars, 97 ratings, close to 25,000 views.

What's the chance of you gracing us viewers and five star raters with some tab?

    Humble request.

A lot of people would be grateful.

    Thanks for the vid.

  • you´re right! i'll try, and it's a promise.

    all the best,

    eduardo luedy

  • @eluedy any change of some tabs??

  • @aleandg take a look at smithsonguitar.blogspot.com/2008/09/back-to-old-house.html

  • @eluedy

Well, it's not easy writing tab so I'll let it go.

There are tabs at different sites, I just think that yours is closest to the truth.

The closest to the truth that I've heard.

Some magazine may say that they have tabs, but they usually fall short. That's why I like this 'version' and why I want tabs: I'm just not good enough to figure out the fingerings on my own. I get close, but close isn't good enough.

Anyways, ...help us play like you.

  • Thanks.

I've uses some tab sites, but they end up failing at some point in the song.

I can probably figure it out now watching your fingers.

I should be able to figure this out on my own by now... /sad

  • The Tabs are in Total Guitar magazine, August 98, Issue 46. Look out for it on the bay! I can't fault it.

  • absolutely love it....

the tempo you play is perfect, really well played, dude

    wow

  • Very nice. But what about the right hand?

  • Check out my version, I amplified a shitty guitar through my Fender Deluxe with reverb and the use of a chorus pedal. Tell me what you think.

    eduardo

  • simply perfect!! it sounds like the original!

  • great stuff, have you got the tabs for it?

  • 5 five stars played well

  • Nice tone and I think it's pretty well note for note!

  • i like it...what kind of guitar is that...the neck looks pretty wide.....!

  • It is an old 12 string guitar. I only use it with six strings, because it's too fragile to handle such pression. But I love its sonority.

  • muy bien, vientos men so good

  • sempre é legal assistir um brasileiro tocar the smiths

  • beautiful. perfect.

    youre very lucky. =]

  • omg that was beautifullllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllwill uu marry me?

  • Sounds wonderful! I've been struggling to learn this song; I can play the beginning part, but the middle confuses me... any chance you could tab this out?

  • awesome cover. one of the best things about youtube is learing smiths songs! they'll never make a learning smiths dvd so we'll have to do it ourselves. Thanks again.

did you use tabs or did you pick it out yourself?

  • It was by ear. Most difficult was to understand the bass lines. Thank you for the comment.

  • very pretty

  • Very good, I like your technique. I'm learning this at the moment, so it's beeen very helpful. Cheers.

  • My dear friend, you are truly truly blessed. I don't know if guitar playing is your living but it should be. This is fan-bloody-tastic.

  • Thank you for the nice words.

  • What else can I say? This is wonderful, and you, sir, are Johnny Marr's son and heir. Fantastic.

    Peter

  • Thanks!

  • Bravo!, sounds clean and in perfect tempo

  • Bravooooo, ahhh sound I long to hear all day sunbathing...acoustice Morrissey covers

  • Very good job mate! Now I will play it well!! :) thanx

  • very, very, nice!!!!~can you say what chords you are using? thank you very much.

  • The harmonies are not difficult to explain. In fact, we need a tab to indicate how to do the guitar accompaniment in counterpoint with the melody of the song. I'll try.

    all the best

    eduardo

  • Sounds great!

  • Thanks for sharing that, it was beautiful. I've always preferred the acoustic version of this song.

I'm teaching myself to play the acoustic guitar and it's my aim, one day, to be able to play my favourite songs as beautifully as you. I have a long way to go.

  • Thanks for the nice words, girlafraid.

    All the best,

    Eduardo

  • Well, I have to confess that I didi some sound processing with soundforge - compression, maxbass to increase the lower ends and so on. The guitar is an old brazilian Di Giorgio (1977), it is a twelve-string guitar, but I only use it with six - the poor guitar doesn't handle it anymore... but I love the way it sounds. Strings... Dean Markley, I guess. But I actually preffer Martin strings.

    all the best,

    Eduardo

  • that's a great sound!! What kind of pickup is that?

  • Although the pickup that you can see, the recording was made only with my sony digital camera built in microphone. Btw, the pickup is an EMG - and it sounds great. As soon as I get a good sound card that allows me good recordings im my pc, I'll try to use it more effectively.

  • Amazing, I thought you played amplified. What guitar/strings are you playing? The lower registers sound almost like a classical guitar to me, very fitting for this song.

  • Yeah, but can you eat a Rowntree's Fruit Pastille withuot chewing it?

  • R u Johnny Marr? Tell me. I won't tell nobody. lol

  • No no no... Daniel is the "real" Johnny :-) I'm just a big fan tryig to pay tribute to the genius of Johnny Marr

  • great!

  • Beautiful!
