Yes, her mother passed away and despite of the situation Joannie didn`t give up and gave her best. But her best wasn't good enough to deserve the bronze medal and only .44points less of a difference than Asada Mao`s performance. I feel sorry for Yuna and Asada especially Yuna. Her performance was flawless, yet she has to stand on the podium with Joannie who's performance was clearly full of mistakes.

I don`t think Joannie deserved such a high score. She made so many mistakes than the other skaters and her performance was not even close as good to Asada`s or Yuna's. Yet, she gets the Bronze medal and non stop applause of her not giving up after her mother passing away.
