  • Flew in one of these a few days ago, ingenious!

  • For a video of a Model "A" powered Pietenpol Air Camper in the air, please see "A damp flight in a Pietenpol."

  • I first heard of Bernard H. Pietenpol at the museum in Fountain, MN. They

had some of his planes there.

You can also read about him in Wikipedia.

Am currently reading a novel by Jan Karon titled "Out to Canaan". On

    p. 140 she mentions planes by Pietenpol.

Found one source on the net. Said Pietenpol learned how to fly

by doing it. Hard landings. "Went up 50 feet. Came down 75".

    Thanks for the informative post.

  • I just learned something ... I had assumed that the single seat "Sky Scout" using the T-model Ford engine came first.

  • Suggest you contact Wicks, or Aircraft Spruce for fabric information.

  • what particular type of fabric could be used in an ultralight aircraft? and where can i buy it? anybody can answer me please?

  • nice video and could you tell me the name of this ground music please ?

  • BHP built a number of airplanes before the Air Camper, but he did not build the Sky Scout until AFTER the Air Camper. He was urged to design the Scout by Weston Farmer, editor of Modern Mechanics and Inventions.

  • Good job! Thank you...
