I first heard of Bernard H. Pietenpol at the museum in Fountain, MN. They
had some of his planes there.
You can also read about him in Wikipedia.
Am currently reading a novel by Jan Karon titled "Out to Canaan". On
p. 140 she mentions planes by Pietenpol.
Found one source on the net. Said Pietenpol learned how to fly
by doing it. Hard landings. "Went up 50 feet. Came down 75".

Nice film Grant. I met you at Broadhead in 1989. Never built a Pietenpol, but still love the airplane!
