Lol :D. An electric guitar contains magnets/pickups (anywhere from 1 to 3) that pick up the vibrations of the strings. That is then amplified from the magnets by the amp (that's putting it VERY simply). I play both. Electric and accoustic. My accoustic guitar also has a pickup that works like that. Just put an overdrive, distrotion, fuzzo or treble booster pedal in between the guitar and amp and you have an electric guitar sound. Offcourse no where near as good as with an electric guitar.

@Typhoon792 I suppose it would be possible to distort the sound using a microphone. But in my country we say "iti okoli riti v žep" witch means to go in to the pocket around your but. That means it's unnecessarily complicated. It's an electro acoustic guitar. It has a pickup. That's how he did it. If you look at metallicas S&M concert and listen to nothing else matters you'll see the same thing done by james on the solo...
