It's certain that later it got to other languages. Such Slovakian, Lithuanian, Croatian, Slovenian etc. uses that, but all these languages weren't so isolated but Sami was.

I responded to Kevary explaining that the only thing Samies are related with Finns are in linguistics. While most experts argue that they adapted a Finno-Ugric language but still retaind there culture overall thus no radical cultural shift more just a language shift. Geneticaly Samies are overall distinct from most people around Scandinavia more or less showing strong Mongolic ties.

There is both ties to the east and ties to the south for an example southern Europe. And with the rest of Scandinavia.Linguisticly Saamis are Uralic and ties with Finns Estonians and Hungraians and with groups far east. Saamies have an interesting culture

@MsSearchingEagle You do not need to scream . But my point is no one is homogentic and neither are the Saamies as a group. Almost no group on earth in homogentic. Just to put it simple. If we just take mitochondrial DNAand Y chromosone halpogroups it is more complex that this but just for the point. The most common Y chromosone halpogroup are from the east and the second is common all over Scandinavia that is Asia group and from the mother side we have mostly a very ancient European stock.

Del 1@MsSearchingEagle Tjaa vet att det skulle va sista ordet men kan tillägga att Samer talar olika Uraliska språk där de bildar en Samisk undergrupp. Uraliska språk är där Finska också tillhör bland annat och Ungerska med mera. Men det finns ord i Samiskan som det är svåra att hitta några som helst Uraliska band med och vissa fonetiska drag och grammatiska kanske är udda för att vara Uraliska språk.

Del 2 Det kan vara så menar många språkforskare nu att Samer talade ett annat språk innan de bytte till en variant av Urfinska fast när det hände så levde drag kvar från de äldre språken kvar.

Hur detta bytte hände vet man ej. En del menar handel men andra menar att det kom en massa Uralisk talande män från öst som blandade sig in och spred deras språk till samerna. Skulle kunan förklara de höga antalet Samiska män av österlänsk börd :) Hoppas inte detta är förvirrande :)

The sami's are an indigenous people of northern scandinavia. They are also known as lapps (Officialy the Lappish People in english), but the Sami People is also correct. The sami's/lapps live in the northernmost regions of Norway, Sweden and Finland, including a small part of the northwestern region of Russia.
