Sid Jacobson wrote the lyrics and Jimmy Krondes wrote the melody. There are some great versions of the song around: Earl Grant (original), Glenn Cambell, amongst them. Elvis loved the song and was singing it when he met Priscilla! Elvis wanted to record the song, but for whatever the reason, it never happened. Would have been a natural for him...
