What movies and music were used in this? I recognized Star Trek, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, and all the Freespace cutscenes, But I would like to know what others there were. Also, specifically, what was the song that was being sung in the last few seconds of the trailer?

This is a lot more darkly psychological for a space combat film than I could have imagined. More Sunshine/Solaris/Event Horizon than Wing Commander, and that's a good thing.
Has it occurred to anyone that the really good scifi fims (in terms of lasting impact) are the ones that aren't just ships going pew pew? This one right here would be an example, as would those you named.
Yeah but given how Descent: Freespace is a game about ships going pew pew, it's kinda an original game to portray a possible movie based on it as something different from a summer sci-fi popcorn flick.
Even with the knowledge that you didn't make these videos, your skill in putting them together, clipping and snipping, and laying over fitting sound is masterful! It truly does feel like this is the sort of thing that Freespace would be made of, only more consistent, of course ;).
