  • saw this at Glyndebourne, Haim's direction of the orchestra amazing, all the singing at the same level, just a pity about the vulgar Glyndebourne crowd who know better how to attend to a lobster mayonnaise than this quality of art...

  • I agree. And remember that these are evil, evil people who win out over all the good people in the opera. Talk about haunting! Talk about nuance! One of the great moments in music theater.
