I must admit I love the MAV, I've had one accidental kill with it. I use it to A) Spot for my teammates B) Call out where the enemy is to my teammates. I'm thinking this is the correct way of using it ;) Good idea is to take out the kill functionality in a patch, i do agree!

There really aren't many other weapon systems as 'fullproof' as this, and considering its not MEANT to be used for this, it highlights the stupidity of it. This is one area where i believe CoD is better, there aren't so many stupidly OP set ups as there seem to be in BF3.
@Soldierofmetal I am not saying this isn't a douche move, but there seems to be an abundance of douches in every game. Should mavs be updated to not kill? Yes. But blanket mortaring, spawn camping and other stuff is just as annoying. I don't care personally of you have a medal for most melee kills, I could care less if you had every medal in the game. It's a game... A game full of douches that don't seem to be able to play it decently without relying on cheap tactics...

@PS3Gamers12 Well if you can find a place that wont ban for killing the noobs then I suggest staggering your mav assaults (let them forget) because its hp is much lower now, and smart players will not let you kill them more then once w/o a fight. Aim for people who appear focused for easier kills like snipers and bipod support players. In a 1v1 against a good player one needs to fly sporadically while closing distance and then when ready do a12-8 clockwise circular smash to finish.
With the next patch this will no longer be allowed. You can kill one person but you will loose the mav in the process. Also no more hitching a ride with it too.
i dont think they should remove this ability. Technically when your flying the MAV around killing people your spotting targets and disabling equipment at the same time.
However, they should really make it more difficult to kill people. In this video this guy was just clipping targets and it was killing them. It should require you to hit them directly in the head to actually kill the person, and only at maximum speed.
It's an exploit which poses ZERO risk to the player. In a way, some may consider it a way of boosting, since it involves no possibility of the player actually dying when using it. They can simply sit in their spawn or well hidden, like a little pansy ass COD player, using this stupid thing beyond it's actual intension. Even if the person did ram it into someone hard enough to kill them, it'd probably damage the MAV, but unfortunately it seems DICE like childish/selfish playaz playin their games
@manzaalez A motion assist counts as a kill for some reason. It means this guy has spent countless hours hiding like a pussy trying to troll people with his MAV, but ending up with lots of motion assists.
@manzaalez normal "kills" with the MAV are the kills from you spotting people with it, which is its main purpose. the normal use of the MAV is to go high up and spot enemies with it for your team, which gets you 30 xp per kill, which adds up very quickly, as you can spot almost everybody on the opposite team. (to spot you press select when your recticle is near an enemy and then he is marked, making it easier for your team to find them)

Some retards decided to get on top of the overpass on Tehran Conquest. They killed me once, so I busted out the MAV and roadkilled one while they were busy sniping. After that, they started spazzing out, trying to shoot me down, but were still planting spawn beacons which I only destroyed. I killed one guy about 3 times, and in the end, the three of them went about 3-4 by the end of the game.
Protip: To get infinite MAVs, spawn as Support, drop an ammo crate in your desired MAVing spot, and suicide. Respawn as Recon and sit on ammo crate. U Mav, enemy team?

@5uckk Because unlike most things in the game this was intended just not at the scale its used at the moment. You should know BF3 is about winning with anything the game provides you. The MAV is provided: So spot, fly near enemies for motion sensors assists and RAM when you can. It it works to a great effcet on the battlefield.

@trigun989 If your flying straight at them the mav hit box is halfway in between the cross hair and the ammo counter box. As you move left or right the hit box also moves in that direction so if your crossing left quickly the hit box will almost be at the cross hair. To kill someone you just need to touch them with the mav hit box anywhere while move at a decent speed.

Lot's of angry nerds in the comments... what's wrong with playing the game how you enjoy playing? I've kicked around with the MAV a little bit, and it is so much tougher than it looks. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty fun. Besides, the MAV can serve two purposes on an open map like Caspian or Kharg Island: 1. Motion senser and normal spots, and 2. picking off some of the enemy, preferably those camping near an objective. It's more useful than you might think, and it's a lot of fun.
@fortuenii I may still have two other clips of getting rank 10 colonel if you really don't believe me, but server stability has been much better since the last patch.

When I get close to enemies, I move the MAV to the left so the crosshair is on their left and the right side of it hits them?

still dont know how to get kills with this thing. do i aim for thier head? body? have the metal peice on the bottom go through them?

@trigun989 If your flying straight at them the mav hit box is halfway in between the cross hair and the ammo counter box. As you move left or right the hit box also moves in that direction so if your crossing left quickly the hit box will almost be at the cross hair. To kill someone you just need to touch them with the mav hit box anywhere while move at a decent speed.

You definitely know how to fly that thing very well...i was server browsing the other day and I found a similar.server but it said "no mavs" and couldn't help to think that you have visited that server...good shit man...keep up the good work

If this is a double post my bad but I tried earlier and didn't seem to work...I just had to respond because I played against you one round and you had me.dying laughing so bad...by the time I heard the mav it was too late...after about the fourth or fifth death to your mav I dedicated the rest of the round to trying to destroy your mav only...I remember having to reload so i went to hide in the ticket booth...I could hear you flying around but i though I was safe...then all of a sudden there u r

Good lord, you keep that thing steady... I end up hitting the ground or ceilings! Seems that anything less than top speed just makes them shrug it off, though. Now that I know the MAV hitbox is right of the crosshair, though... Sky's the limit!

Lot's of angry nerds in the comments... what's wrong with playing the game how you enjoy playing? I've kicked around with the MAV a little bit, and it is so much tougher than it looks. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty fun. Besides, the MAV can serve two purposes on an open map like Caspian or Kharg Island: 1. Motion senser and normal spots, and 2. picking off some of the enemy, preferably those camping near an objective. It's more useful than you might think, and it's a lot of fun.

So if you look a bit further, everyone will see you are a bad bad player, not going fo objectives en turns to the MAV when K/D is getting low in the game.
