what a cutie :) my 2 year old and i watched the video I think I may start telling him that we are out of diapers too lol... he wears his big boy underwear around the house but isn't to interested in telling me before he goes.. lol something we are working on haha I love how you spell his name :)
oh my goodness he has got to be one of the cutiest baby i have ever seen!!! no lie! i am in love....congrats mom on a beautiful baby!! what a sweet heart
oh my goodness he has got to be one of the cutiest baby i have ever seen!!! no lie! i am in love....congrats mom on a beautiful baby!! what a sweet heart
This was a great approach and he seems to really understand when you say there are no more diapers at the store lol.He is adorable!I am going to start my son out pretty soon, he is 17 months. We shall see how it goes.
AWW! I feel bad for the little baby he looked like he wanted to cry from the begining. :( HE IS SOOOOO CUTE!!!! He does not like the potty lol. thats funny.
You are all crazy to insult this sweet little boy, he has achondroplasia and is very attractive for not growing normally. So what if he doesn't look like every child? Does everyone have to look the same?
this is really sad....clearly he's getting upset the more that you ask him if he's mad..I think potty training should be positive not negative making him feel bad....
THE BOY IS FINE! If he cried because he didn't want to go to bed but she made him anyways, would that be mean? No. She is a good mother, teaching her son to use the toilet.
Yes, metalmama, I have a suggestion. DON'T force him. Be patient and wait until he is ready. Your child will let you know when it is time to shift from diapers to toilets, and please expect some trial and error,. It won't happen overnight and all children ARE different.
@questianna did you not read what she wrote 6 months ago???
"When this video was made in Feb of 09, he clearly was not ready for potty training, but I didn't give up and slowly continued to introduce the idea to him and by May he was fully potty trained! He was night time trained by July, so continue to introduce the idea and most of all don't stress if their not ready, they will be at some point!! ;-) "
I recommend a parenting class for you, and if you have already been exposed to one, then find a better one, because YOU are the one who needs training. Poor Knoah!
You even admit to knowing his sadness and still you persist in making Knoah feel uncomfortable when he is obviously NOT READY in this video. What a mom!!!
Oh, and by the way nice method (all sarcasm intended) to lie to your child that the "...store has no more diapers for Knoah." Couple that comment with your incredulously harsh tone toward your own child, and don't you realize that you are making Knoah feel that he has done something wrong, though he has no idea what that is, to make the store stop providing his diapers???
I become so inflamed about selfish parents who force training, or swimming, or whatever it may be that the child is not ready for at that time. These types of parents have no clue as to the potential psychological distress, which is NOT adorable, that they are breeding, seen and as yet unseen.
Congratulations, lady. You trained your child to use the toilet. Now, ask yourself if you did that for Knoah or for you???
Training isn't for their benefit, as evidenced by this disturbing video upload. It is for the parent's benefit and convenience ti force potty training in order to save on the expense of purchasing diapers and cleaning the messy poo. And, who made the comment that the child's distress was adorable? Oh, that was "hypatience"...what an idiot.
I am a two-time mother and also a naturalist and long-standing member of La Leche League. Though children are different as to when and how they develop, i.e. interest in solid food, potty training, etc., forcing a child in this manner is counter-productive, ill-advised, outdated, and just senselessly cruel. Yes, I said, "cruel." If we are in tune with our children and good at picking up their cues, we will know when they are ready to convert from diapers to toilets.

This video was posted in February so I'm guessing you've completed the potty training process. My son just turned 2 on the 4th of July and I'm having difficulty with the whole potty training process. Do you have any advice?
