I've been watching your videos for a while and finally I've come across a question where we don't have immediately agreeing (or differing) opinions, which is to say I have no idea how I feel about soulmates. Originally I thought there was one and believed it despite how foolhardy it was, but now I think it can cause more trouble than it's worth. So is there more than one soulmate for every person? Many compatible people? I don't know yet, but I want to thank you for making me think today.
I think people have more than 1 soulmate. Unless there are exactly 1 person and 1 mate ratio on earth, the 'soulmate' concept negates itself. If we have more than 1 soulmate, which makes a lot of sense, there are certain people around the world where you have an increased affinity for connection with.
i think money makes people less stressed but also somehow brings more problems. and im gonna have to say, poorer people are probably happier because they appreciate what they have and have more fun with it.
I think the rich people and feeling good thing is being looked at backwards here. It's all about the Law of Attraction (if you don't know what I'm talking about, google "The Secret" or "Law of Attraction"). In any case, the richest people I've known in life were very happy, but what I learned from them was that putting out good energy draws the same back to you. They were happy before they were wealthy, or maybe more they got wealthy because they were happy. Try it. It's worked for me, too. =)
Phil, if you know people are doing drugs and driving, especially on a regular basis, you would be a despicable person for not getting them thrown in jail. What would it take? One idiot murdering YOUR family in a similar fashion before you thought it prudent to act?

QOTD: In my personal experience lack of money hasn't had influence on our happiness. It does though, influence a lot on stress. My husband and I have never fought about money, specifically because we don't appreciate materials as much as some people do, money was made to be spent. But conversations about our financial situations do get stressful, and when something "bad" does happen, yes we stress out a lot more. When my husband gets promoted we'll be able to relax a bit more.
Money opens many opportunities and options = more freedom = happiness. However, many other things give us more freedom like positive thinking, attractiveness, confidence etc. Interestingly, some people are happy not having much freedom.. People who like rules, boundaries and discipline or like being needed/depended on.
@QOTD: Errr, we have far too many theories on what motivates people: The Economic Man, Herzberg's Two Factor Theory, Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and Mayo's Hawthorne Effect to name a few. But the basic idea remains the same. Money makes you happy.. pushes you to work but is still not the reason why happiness STICKS! That's a whole other psychological aspect of word.
Why would anyone anyone swerve their car to the side of their prenant wife? That would not even be an option for me and I would hope that any husband and father would do the same thing. We are suppose to protect our families. This guy did what should have been done in that situation. Sorry to hear that he did not survive. He will be forever remembered by his wife and child as a hero. Stories like this give me hope for humanity. Thanks

Money is used to meet goals (like going to college or paying billings on time) not significantly towards happiness. Happiness is more refereed pleasures & achievements. Sometimes more is better than less.
I have a manager that I love to talk to. She used to work in a mental hospital. Most of the patients there have lots of money but they went crazy. Also, just because you have lots of money, doesn't mean you are sane. There are people with money who are also in jail. Furthermore, people with money do argue, get killed, have personal dramas, fall in and out of love, get divorced...That study is a generalization because it lacks specific terms. Do they love their jobs?
QOTD: well, if you make a lot of money, then you can go on vacations to cool places and have nice things. But then, if you're not rich, when you get cool stuff it's more special and probably more meaningful. I guess it would depend on the person you are deep down.

I think people have more than 1 soulmate. Unless there are exactly 1 person and 1 mate ratio on earth, the 'soulmate' concept negates itself. If we have more than 1 soulmate, which makes a lot of sense, there are certain people around the world where you have an increased affinity for connection with.

I think the rich people and feeling good thing is being looked at backwards here. It's all about the Law of Attraction (if you don't know what I'm talking about, google "The Secret" or "Law of Attraction"). In any case, the richest people I've known in life were very happy, but what I learned from them was that putting out good energy draws the same back to you. They were happy before they were wealthy, or maybe more they got wealthy because they were happy. Try it. It's worked for me, too. =)

QOTD: In my personal experience lack of money hasn't had influence on our happiness. It does though, influence a lot on stress. My husband and I have never fought about money, specifically because we don't appreciate materials as much as some people do, money was made to be spent. But conversations about our financial situations do get stressful, and when something "bad" does happen, yes we stress out a lot more. When my husband gets promoted we'll be able to relax a bit more.

Money opens many opportunities and options = more freedom = happiness. However, many other things give us more freedom like positive thinking, attractiveness, confidence etc. Interestingly, some people are happy not having much freedom.. People who like rules, boundaries and discipline or like being needed/depended on.
All in all, moderation is key.

@QOTD: Errr, we have far too many theories on what motivates people: The Economic Man, Herzberg's Two Factor Theory, Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and Mayo's Hawthorne Effect to name a few. But the basic idea remains the same. Money makes you happy.. pushes you to work but is still not the reason why happiness STICKS! That's a whole other psychological aspect of word.

Why would anyone anyone swerve their car to the side of their prenant wife? That would not even be an option for me and I would hope that any husband and father would do the same thing. We are suppose to protect our families. This guy did what should have been done in that situation. Sorry to hear that he did not survive. Money is used to meet goals (like going to college or paying billings on time) not significantly towards happiness. Happiness is more refereed pleasures & achievements. Sometimes more is better than less.

I have a manager that I love to talk to. She used to work in a mental hospital. Most of the patients there have lots of money but they went crazy. Also, just because you have lots of money, doesn't mean you are sane. There are people with money who are also in jail. Furthermore, people with money do argue, get killed, have personal dramas, fall in and out of love, get divorced...That study is a generalization because it lacks specific terms. Do they love their jobs?

also since technically judaism does allow poligamy the first wife you marry is the soul mate(for the record, their was a decree passed by r' gershom that it cant be done due to growing jealosy by the christians, every religion, or lack thereof allowed it until christianity, and biologically, humanity is designed in a way where a slightly poligamous society would be advantagous),

judaism believes in a dynamic soul mate for men, where every person man has one true "baasheret" for who he is at that moment, but by changing, so does his partner, also the first marriage is the "official" union to his baasheret, but the second is not, so its not foolproof and you still have to work at it, and of course prayer can alter this union. whether is true or not, its at least less improbable in equation, and I think its still nice
