  • holy shit he lost a lot of weight

  • i think spielberg is better but they're both great directors but i think spielberg has done more great films in the past maybe not now...

  • i love both directors ... both of them down to earth ....

  • I think one person accused Cameron of being self-centered in one of the previous videos. Fail! Just look at how he praises Peter in this video.

  • He isn't self-centered. It comes out that way (i wasn't the one who said that) I think he is a very intuitive and humble man yet he is reassured and forth-going with creative ideas. He's just a little more talkative. Which really surprised me. I thought Peter Jackson would be that one, but he is more modest and contemplative (not saying Cameron isn't either of those... but he' probably a little less modest which is by no means self-centered)

  • That's rude.

  • Why do people act like technology and quality story can't go hand in hand? James provides characters that the audience actually cares about. And Peter Jackson has always said again and again that at the end of the day no matter what CGI or special effect are used, it's about story and character.

  • It's always about story and character (or so they say) but of course when you have films like "Transformers" and "G.I Joe" coming out, it kinda destroys your point. But I do agree with Cameron' and Jackson, but they're in a class of their own. Can't rely compare them to Michael Bay or the hack from the Mummy movies..:p

  • it doesn't destroy my point because I'm not talking about them because they aren't abotu story. Peter Jackson and James Cameron are about story along with the big effects.

  • You asked: "Why do people act like technology and quality story can't go hand in hand?" I answered; because of hack directors like said M. Bay and the Mummy director. And then I said J.C and P.J are in a league of their own. Re-read my post please..

  • Oh for sure.

fifty years from now, when college students are sitting in their film studies courses or are being lectured in a film school, they will be learning about guys like Jackson, Cameron, (young) Lucas, Zemeckis, and Spielberg. These are guys who use technology to the tell the story and never let it overpower the story or characters.

guys like Bay and Sohmers are going ot be forgotten because their films don't have any way of standing the test of time.

  • I agree with Peter Jackson. Story matters more.

  • you know, i'm a huge fan of Cameron and he can talk about technology all he wants, but what really matters is the STORY.

  • When did they ever say it wasn't? Fact is, a movie with bad technology is like a barrier between you and the story. Cameron is one of the guys who are working to make those impossible-to-film stories possible. Without people like him, we wouldn't have the great movies of our time. We'd still be watching the same dramas over and over, without any visual flair.

Film is a visual medium. If story was all that mattered, we'd all just read books and tell stories to each other. Movies wouldn't exist.

  • In his recent interviews, he's mentioned that. Saying the technology is what people are focusing on, but Avatar has a great story behind it according to him. I believe him, I mean he gave us some awesome sci-fi movies that we actually cared about ya know? I think he said the emotional story and darkness behind it will "ring you out" by the end. I think the only thing us Cameron fans can do is just trust that he'll stick true to his style of filmmaking.
