I'm trying to let my hair go natural, I've been getting relaxers for years. I hate it but if I want it to grow I have no choice. I take 5,000 mg of Biotin & I only straighten my hair once a month to see progress. I also use organic products. Most hair products have alcohol in them. ANY type of alcohol is horrible for african american hair. It has growed a bit, not fast but not slow either. Any other tips, people?

So helpful. I just decided to ditch the hair extensions and just embrace my real hair. I love my hair, I just hide it under weaves because I have no idea how to take care of it. The funny thing is that weaves have helped it grow longer and now that its the longest its ever been I want to take care of it and nurture it without resorting to wearing fake hair again. It feels SO nice to be able to just stand under the shower and let water run through my scalp after YEARS of weaves :p

After watching this video, I quickly realised maybe I shouldn't put a blow dryer anywhere near my hair, because It turns out, I have very poor hair etiquette. I wash my hair with regular bathing soap to get rid off the oiliness once every month and I use head and shoulders ant-dandruff shampoo/conditioner and that's all I do, I don't even leave it in my hair for 5mins :/.

Lol as you mentioned DAX I looked at my shelf and saw DAX: Dry Hair and Scalp Treatment hehe I guess in the bin it goes.
