When a man feels pain, the nerves respond slightly differently, and its more responsive to internal pain, while it is vice versa for women, so men feel more internal pain than women do, and women feel more external pain.

Considering women give birth and have period cramps, it would make sense that at least their nerves are less responsive to internal pain.

Men have more muscle as defense, so 100lbs might feel like 90 so you HAVE to adjust it

@GeminiFirewall All papers and studies I've read say that men can take more pain, internal or external.I haven't seen any that suggest otherwise and like I already said - no one ever checked who - men or women - can withstand birth better because it is impossible to do so. So the only answer to a question whether men can bear birth pain as much a women is we don't know.Also,I haven't ever seen women suffer any less from toothaches or migraines than men. Rather the opposite.

@Trebor6127 It's not that men can handle more pain, it's just that they generally feel less pain because of the way their body functions (read my other comment). Ultimately it's the person, because you cannot calculate pain tolerance accurately. More muscle and nerve responses reduces the feeling of the pain, that is not pain tolerance, pain tolerance is the amount of pain the person can take, so to test it properly you have to adjust it for men.

What counts is that men can handle more pain anyway and a moderately strong punch that would make a woman slump to the floor and start crying would usually make a man only grunt or recoil. Of course this doesn't apply to every individual, but is true for about 90% men and women.

The same number as in the article you read was given for lower body strength. Anyway, that still gives men about 40% more upper body strength and that is a huge advantage. Furthermore. more strength also means that men punch and kick quicker than women. Many studies have also shown that men have much higher resistance to pain and are tougher,

But still, I agree with - you a woman who trains really hard and who is stronger than an average woman might beat an average untrained man. The point about breasts is that a hit to female chest is much more painful and dangerous than to a male chest. Breasts are soft and completely unprotected.
