  • i love doing flares :)

    gymnast flares are cleaner

  • Very clean flares. Far removed from the bent leg slop that most Bboys do.

  • you for some reason remind me of Beck from Victorious!!!

  • Look at his arm on the right of the screen

  • u look a lil like Beck from Victorious on Nickeledeon

  • i can do bboy flares but what really is the difference between gymnast and bboy flares?

  • @sam20991 personal preference really. A lot of people like bboy flares and a lot of people like gymnastics flares.

  • @sam20991 Gymnast Flares are more straighter legs and pointed feet b boying it does not really matter if your leg that sight

  • @sam20991 usually the difference has to do with how the legs are spread, moved, lifted.

  • Pretty good for a gymnast

  • @tehlulz576 ^_^ ty!

  • can someone help me with my flares... lol i can do only 1 round sometimes but most of the times my right legs keeps falling down and i can stop that... im doing it counterslockwise...:D

  • wow thats so nice

  • wooow never seen any1 do flares like thiss

  • i love gymnast and BBOY flares but gymnast flares are cleaner

  • 8 flares :)

  • i've ever seen any bboys do them this clean

  • @FliiGlider thanks man!

  • @FliiGlider

    bboy Demon a.k.a. Damien

  • @FliiGlider bboys nt supposed 2

  • @FliiGlider Cico ?

  • My god! is ur pelvis still intact!?

  • the flares are really fast (I know how hard it is)! But bboys let look it cooler and higher ;D

  • How many pounds of muscle does someone need in their arms to have the strength to do that?

  • @Nevadison i'm 5'2 at the time of this video i weighed 120 lbs with 4% body fat. You need a good core to hold your body up, but you don't need to be a hulk. What helped me was handstand and planche (no feet) pushups, sit ups and splits, other than that just tons of patience and socks. lol

  • @Nevadison it's not strength, it's the technique of torquing your hips, which is hard to understand at first..anyone is capable of flaring...upper body strength will give you awesome control of flares

  • BEAST

  • if you can do flares, how long would you be able to do an l-sit? i'm just trying to get an idea of the ab-strength it takes. thanks.

  • Just cause you can flare doesnt mean you can bboy. Thats not even close. I can flare I can do like 20 butt im just saying..

  • @kdavidse agreed, because in gymnastics and bboying there's more going on than just flares

  • @soonergymnast1967 EXACTLY most gymnists I see dont really do flares, they train on theyre flips mostly.

And besides Bboying is a dance not a gymnist competition.

  • @soonergymnast1967 Ill post my flares later. Dont really have time to upload for fun.

  • @kdavidse look forward to it

  • @kdavidse i smell some jealousy.

  • @Unkn0wnCrew What?? Jelousy of what?? '0.o

  • @kdavidse He mentioned NOTHING about bboying.

  • a little bit more and you can hit your head with the left leg

  • @Leetheras LMAO no joke i did that last week!

  • The best flares Ive ever seen

  • how long did it take u to learn? cuz i want to learn that

  • @sae05z I was taught at a young age, but I couldn't ever get my head around it. It took about 1 year maybe less. I only learned them on floor because of a dare from my gymnastics friends my 8th grade year.

  • gymnast flares are so elegant

  • hey.... BREAKDANCE!!!!!!!!!!!! U CAN ALREADY BREAKDANCE DUDE!

  • @bboypakyu

    bboying isn't only flare)

  • Looks easy... ^^

    Very nice job!

  • those was really clean !!!!!!!

  • dude just become a BBoy Ok lol

  • SO CLEAN FUCK!

  • nice

  • how long did it took you to be able to do flares.

  • My dream is to do it !!! :(

  • @Zihab2000 train hard and you can do it where there is a will there is a way remember that

  • It spins to the point, your legs don't look like legs anymore

  • any advise on my flares?

  • Wow that is frickin crazy You must be very strong..never seen anything like that!!

  • @compucarracing U have never seen a flare before?? man type in "air flare" in search! that shit will knock u off yr feet!! lol

  • @19daze98 LOL!

  • @FhakaYu lol

  • @compucarracing You dont have to be that strong to do flares its all about technique.

  • those flares are so clean!

can you help me with multiple flares?

ive been trying to get 2 for a while

  • dammnnnn.. why are gymnastic flares harder than bboy flares???? arrgghh....

  • hey my friend thecrismaster099 has a question: wat type of wristbands i have to use in gymnastics cuz i injured one :D

  • @MegaNacho28 I use tiger paws wrist supports, they do wonders. ^_^

  • @soonergymnast1967 hey thanks for answering my question (have to answer it on my friends channel thanks to gmail ) but do u think i can get a pair in cannada cuz my grandad is on there and i dont want to get injured again. take care

  • @thecrismaster099 hey no problem. If you like, you can google Tiger Paw Gymnastics Wrist Supports and get a quote on shipping. I believe it will be some where between $22-$25 American dollars for shipping. The Item itself is $49.95.

  • @soonergymnast1967 ok, i think my grandad will have no problem cuz he used to be a gymnast :D

  • yeah

  • is this wes?

  • @thedylanmccoy is this dylan, the crazy handstand guy?

  • @thedylanmccoy woot! whats up buddy

  • @soonergymnast1967 waiting for next practice. when was this? You have long hair.

  • @thedylanmccoy 3 almost 4 years ago? CJ was pissed! next day i shaved it off.

  • @soonergymnast1967 he must have gotten a lot more relaxed, because he hardly made anyone cut their hair.

  • those are some nice flares bro my first one clean like that but the rest are ughhhhhhhh.

  • is this at jefferson?

  • @thedylanmccoy indeed it is

  • @soonergymnast1967 did you go to abilene high or cooper?

  • @thedylanmccoy cooper

  • @soonergymnast1967 did you go to abilene high or cooper?

  • plzzzz man post a tutorial of your so cool and clean flares and ur 1080 russians plz

  • You should do airflares if you haven't already

  • @BuddyAMP To be honest I've been very interested in learning them, but I can't even flare to hand yet =/...

It's depressing but I'm getting closer.

  • @soonergymnast1967 Well, you could probably do without flare>hand actually. Since your flares are as high as they are right now, you could probably learn airflares from flares easier than you think. Most of the bboys in my scene that have clean airflares learned from flare ^__^

  • @BuddyAMP I love to learn it! So I just keep my hips up, post on my arm and pop with the hips right? I think come the 14th I'm going to play with some ^_^.

I don't know how successful I will be but hey I'll give it a shot, lol.

  • @soonergymnast1967 Pretty much! It's hard to explain with word, but I'd look at some really good bboys do airflares in some videos on here. Just keep in mind that the kick is still the same as your flare kick, because it's just a flare variation where the hand's placement is different. You'll get it in no time!

  • i always been having a question, what are u wearing in the legs? are they socks?

  • @thecrismaster099 XD they white fabric on my feet are socks, the black pants are my competition pants for gymnastics.

  • @soonergymnast1967 so they are just socks????

  • @soonergymnast1967 yes indeed :)

  • niceee

  • wow...

    thats

    clean

  • i hope you post a tutorial on clean flares soon like these because my flares are very ugly

  • By my opinion, it's amazing, but it isn't even close to the bboy flare

  • Hmm around 9 months on the mushroom, I started doing them when I was around 9. It took 5 minutes to understand how to do it on the floor though.

  • Long hair! :D

  • xD it was! I got kicked out of my gym until I got it cut.

  • @soonergymnast1967 CJ kicked you out because of your hair? Geez lol

  • LOL WHO IS THIS?!

  • Justin Powers, hahahahaha

  • lol What's up? Workout got cancelled.

  • I'm sitting in my dorm being warm with Bethy and Johnny since we don't have practice. I was actually wanting to train something other than floor but NOOO the weather had to ruin it, lol.

  • I wish I could tumble -_-*

Yeah 65 degrees yesterday, 30 and snowing today. Gotta love it. XD

    Tell Johnny I said hey!

Well I have a floor plan I have to construct before midnight, so cya tomorrow if workout isn't dropped.

  • Nice, but still it's funny you give all of your power and are sow low

  • Not sure what you mean, but thanks for the comment!

  • sorta looks like your whiping your right leg as it comes around to get you to your next flare

  • Beast

  • Okay will do!

  • For me it's second nature, but the guys I've taught in the past can't get use to it because it forces you to focus just a little more than usual. Also if you already keep your legs straight, it will make your lines look so much better. It will look very crisp and clean like a board.

Best of luck to you in your adventures!

Watch some of your videos and I have to say keep up the good work!

  • First off, thank you for asking rather than bashing.

Our rules demand that we show perfect form such as perfect handstands, pointed toes, straight arms and legs. If we don't, we will be deducted points. If we were competing those points that were lost, could have won a medal on that certain event.

  • Some of the best I've seen; and I've seen tons.

    props

  • his left leg almost hit's his face :P

  • LOL I've kneed myself in the face before xD

  • damn flex! :P

  • whats the difference between the break dance flare and this?

  • gymnasts keep their legs straight and split them, so they're easier than break dance normal flares, anyway many break dancer can split their legs too, so the 2 kinds of flares are almost the same

  • Yep, gymnast flare with mainly their shoulders legs and back. Whereas break dancers flare with mainly their hips, lower back and thighs. If we could combine the two techniques they would be amazing to watch.

  • don't forget gymnast flares are higher, cleaner, and wider(legs spred apart). it would be amazing to see a combination of bboy and gymnast flares. and your flares are fast as ever.. very clean tho.

  • They are definately NOT higher, these are low as hell compared to bboy flares =S since we use the hips, i huess you do to if you don't do this, and this causes the body to gain more height.

  • which one's easier? and how do you flare with your shoulder lol, i mean i can flare but i've never felt my shoulder muscles being utilized before

  • They're both equally hard to master, but I would say it's personal preferences to which is easier to learn. Flaring with your shoulders just means trying to flare to handstand with each and every flare.

  • It has the aggressiveness of a bboy flare.

    I like it.

  • You would make an awesome breakdancer!

  • Those flares were clean ^_^..I want to start learning those...where should i start?

  • great - jackie chan! ;P

  • pero que flare mas fantastico hombre...felicidades!!!!

  • yeah^^

  • Hey sooner can send me a tutorial vid on how to throw a backflip? the correct way, ill subscribe.

  • How far along are you? Have you ever performed a backflip before?

  • Hey, I forgot my password so im using this profile i created, Yes i have, I was spotted ten times standing 2 days ago, I was told that I caught on much quicker than most students, sorry to tute my horn, yes ill subscribe if i get a tutorial vid for my back flip

  • i am a gymnast and i might go into training for to olympics i can help give a tutorial vid

  • well, what is funny is i have got my back flip on everything except the floor, the tumble track is easy, so is the trampoline, but the rest is not so easy

  • Just have absolute confidence in yourself and commit to the skills you are doing. Good luck to you and I believe you will do great things.

  • Wonderful!

  • age doesnt matter im not a gymnast but a bboy who can perform flares. Just watch a person do a flare, Go home practice 100 times and you can flare. Dont complain too much if you just train you will just get it =d

  • In gymnastics age does matter because we don't want our students to suffer irregular muscle or bone development. Once we have passed the minimum age we are allowed to perform up to a certain degree of difficultly. Other than that it just depends on the athletes determination and skill. I agree the more you complain the further behind you will become.

  • yeah well, at young age kids indeed can suffer pain in the muscles later. But it just depends how much the kid want it you know. Most kids dont work hard to achieve their goals..

But yeah .. I'm only 13 so i shouldn't really be talking like this. Anyways i got my flares down ;)

  • Very nice! congrats! All the hard work pays off in the long run!

  • I agree with that. With hard work you can do anything.

  • woow... so clean... 5 stars

  • I had the same problem!!

You must learn how to extend through the hips and shoulders. I would take the top off mushroom and put it on the floor that helped me a lot.

  • hey sooner gymnast just looking at your flare vid again... i have been trainign flares for around 2-3 month now, not consistent but about once a week. My problem (going clockwise) is that when my right leg has to rise the right side of my face i collapse and my left leg hits the floor. its so annoying. do you think I need more strength. what is good strength trainign for flares? planche strength and oress strength? I can old l sit for 25 seconds and can do circles (although very sloppy)

  • so i can do 2 circles all the time, does that mean I have strength for two flares?. What I mean is planche strength and press strength good to have?

i'm 5'11 and heard it's harder for taller people to learn flares because gravity working gaainst them. don't know if that's bullshit or not lol...

    peace

  • Give me a month and I'll be back in shape and I will start posting videos. I'm sorry to everyone about posting videos, I'm in the process of building a race car. I also have my first race back is in July so my priorities are hot laps and tuning. I promise though I will have more videos very very soon.

  • Being tall does play a little factor in learning. Though it all depends on your coach and your willingness to learn. I've taught a handful of guys that were 5'8-6'2 how to swing pommel so it is very plausible for someone of your height.

  • im proud of u son. :)

  • wow ultra hard man.... :-O

  • flares are so awesome! How long it took you to learn the first?

    Peace!

  • Thanks! :) it took a near 9 months.

  • WOW those flares are amazing! How did u learn that and how long did it take u? Are there any exercises for flares appart from just trying over and over again to do them?

  • I started gymnastics when I was young. When I was 7-10 years my coach Vladimir taught me circle, Russians, spindles, and moores and then finally flares. I started when I was 9 and it took me around a year to achieve two flares so when I was 11 I was already doing 4 or 5. There's a shortcut, but if you want to reach your maximum potential then I suggest learning circles, spindles, and moores first and get use to your body's movements. Then work on flexibility like sitting in the splits for 30 min.

  • Ok guys,

After almost a year and a half of rehabilitation and surgeries December 21st is going to be my official day back into the gym. That means December 29th I am going to be updating my videos. So stay tuned...

  • this guy has insaine flare i like his their so nice

  • i cant even planche ... what the hell man thats crazy i stretch all the time. i do the crazy pushup/ pull up / chin up / pilate ab workouts.

i guess theres too much muscle on my legs. and not enough muscle on my arms to equal the mass of my legs

  • The training paid off then, looks like you could actually kill a man with those.

  • whats a good way to train your upper body strength

  • handstand push ups, chin ups, and planche push ups are great strength builders for this skill.

  • what are planche push ups

  • Hey, is it truew that flares are all about strength and flexibility of the legs rather than technique?

I have been told it is.

    Also your flares are great.

  • upper body strength i meant. btw you look weightless. how many STANDARD pushups can you do? and how long did it take you to get flares? can you airtrack?

  • if you look at his triceps they look really hard.. but his lower body is weight less... just his. top.

  • Strength and flexibility can only go so far, but if you don't understand your body and how to control it in the proper manner than the other two elements are meaning less. My standard work outs consist of a 4 hour morning practise than a 5 hours afternoon practise. On schedule I do about 200 chinups, 240 triceps and standard pushups, and 150 planche pushups (no feet) and 50 handstands (no wall). Then 1 hour of stretching. to be continued...

  • thats crazy. now I realise why I don't make much progress. I don't train hard enough. I'm now inspired to train harder. I usualy only stretch for 5 minutes!

    Thnaks for your help

  • Here's what I did at a young age and I still do today. When ever I watch television, play video games, read, book work, etc. I sit in each split for 30 minutes a piece or I sit in a long straddle. So not only I am doing something that helps my progression, but I am also doing something 'entertaining.'

You should always stretch before practise, which you said that you always do which is great. Just strive to be great and you'll do just fine!Good luck!!:)

  • gahh glahh blahh*drooles allll over screen in jelousy and amazment* blahh arg!omg i hate you in a loving way damnit, now i have to work a million times harder lol,BUT IM GUNNA HAVE THOSE RAAAAAGGHHH!!!!

  • In the 1 hour stretching I do 20 minutes of weighted splits= Body elevated one foot on a mat with a 8 kg bell. Back breakers which looks like a wrestling move that someone does I believe his name is Jericho idk lol. Than miscellaneous stretches such as shoulders, biceps, triceps, chest, and quads. Then I work on my rotating joints such as my hips, shoulders, wrists, neck and back. Hope this helps.

  • awesome!!! the most dynamic flares i've ever seen.

  • Wow! Thank you! I sincerely appreciate that comment very much!

  • wooow!

  • please tell me that was sped up cuz damn that was fast...and cool

  • hey thanks :) nope this is normal speed :)

  • dang talk about fast

  • can you go to handstand?

    those flares are impressive

  • his flares idk lol but since his legs are soo stretched out hes obviously a gymnist
