I agree to a certain extent. The heart has been ripped out of the song and been replaced by candyfloss but regarding the gay underground video of the 80's I'm quite glad they've walked away from that a little. There was always more to Frankie than the whole gay thing. Especially as now it's a song that everyone loves and recognises, not just gays.

What was a cutting edge 80's track with homosexual overtones has been turned into an overtly heterosexual video with a fleeting gay kiss lasting several seconds. Why abandon the original theme of the vid completely???

Well I think that there's more to the song than that to be honest. Frankie weren't a gay band, in fact only two of the five members were gay. It's also been done to appeal to a wider audience which isn't such a bad thing.

I also think that they have to be very careful about getting the video ok to be viewed before the watershead like it was tonight on the one show.
