  • I was in my mid teens in the 60's and attended Geneva High. I have many great memories of the times we had there on the weekends and during the summer. We could get into the Psychedelic Lounge and the Sunken Bar without being carded to watch the great bands and drink that 3.2 beer.Miss the burgers and those donuts!

  • @Stretchmancando Thanks so much for sharing your memories and for watching this video!

  • I attended Geneva High in the late 60's and would hang out here almost every weekend with friends. We used to get into the Psychedelic Lounge and the Sunken Bar without being carded. Miss the donuts!

  • Any old timers out there that remember the 60's. How about the Psychedelic Lounge or the Sunken Bar? I was in my mid teens and we hung out there every weekend. Great entertainment and tasty donuts!

  • omg i miss coming up to the strip when i was camping at indian creek brings back so many memories

  • Thanks for the video! I went there for the first time too see a concert at the Cove nightclub. I am only in my 20's and never have seen an area like that. It's almost like going back in time! Will be going again for another concert soon, can't wait!

  • @danielclack22 Yep, its a great place and a real travel back in time. Thanks for watching this video!

  • this musta been like 4 am on a thursday cuz the strip stays bumpin

  • @ferrar25 Actually, I think it was a Sunday night if I remember correctly. Thanks for watching!

  • I'm 29 and it was awesome in the 80's and 90's. I especially liked the two great arcades there, go carts, eddie's grill, and putt putt. Now they took a lot of the good games out of the arcades like Ninja Turtles, Simpsons, Wrestlefest, and X-Men and replaced them with dumb driving games and shooting games.

  • @fmthebaron Yep, the 80's were awesome up there. I have to upload some video I have of the strip from that era. I sure miss the amusement park. Thanks for commenting!

  • I visited there back in 1966. Many clubs with decent blues flavored rock bands. I remember the arcade with people playing one of those mechanical horse race games. Cool place even back then.

    U.W.

  • @unklewink Thanks so much for sharing your memories and for watching this video. Very much appreciated!

  • haha i live on the strip the road by allisons puttputt!!

  • You are so lucky! Thanks for watching this video!

  • Good thing i live in Conneaut =]. I love driving there at night and just hanging out, at least once every weekend in the summer i go there.

  • Yep, it's a great place! Thanks so much for commenting on and watching this video!

  • oh i love geneva on the lake..if you think it was packed then you should have been there when Girls Gone Wild was at one of the bars up there..i go up there almost every weekend to play putt putt and hang out with friends

  • Wow, the bars must have been jammed then! Thanks for watching this video and I hope you have continued great weekends up there. It is an awesome spot!

  • Didn't have the money to go that weekend. But we try to make it up there at least for my wife's and my birthday's; especially Eddie's. :-)

  • Yep, I try to get up there at least once a year for some Eddie's burgers and Madsen donuts! LOL Thanks again!

  • this place is awesome go there every year in july...great time

  • Yep, awesome is the word. I really like that place myself and head out there once a year, too.

  • If you think the GOTL Strip was jam-packed in the '80's, you should have seen it in the Sixties. Best summer of my life: 1968. I was 16 and finally convinced my parents I was old enough to stay at GOTL alone. Best decision my parents ever made. that summer still defines my life, even more so than my horses or my writing. - writeroffthelake at Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio's oldest summer resort

  • That must have been great! I heard stories about how many people went there in the sixties. Thanks so much for commenting on and watching this video!

  • If you think the GOTL Strip was crowded in the 1980's, that was NOTHING compared to the way it was in the 1960's. Best summer ever on the Strip: 1968, I was 16 and my parents finally agreed I was old enough to stay alone at GOTL. Smartest decision they ever made; it still defines my life. - writeroffthelake at Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio's oldest summer resort

  • Growing up in Geneva, I always remember the strip, I mean, who could forget?

  • Yep, I have some home video of the strip from 1986 that I am going to have to post sometime soon. Thanks so much for watching this video!

  • My school Teacher and her brother use to own Joe's funhouse down there, so I was always lucky enough to get free coins to use with their machines, they had some of the oldest coin-op machines down there. Also Klingbiels food stand was another family that were friends with. They had the best onion rings around. And then there was the little stand in from of the amusement park entrance, that little old lady was always there selling the best cotton candy. She was always there it seemed.

  • What great memories you have of Geneva on the Lake. You were very lucky. Thanks for sharing!

  • What a dead place anymore, I remember back in the 80's when every night of the summer the strip was wall to wall with people of all ages, that and there was so much more to do and see. After they took the rides out a couple years ago I quit going down there. I didn't even go there last summer, not once.

  • I sure miss the amusement park that used to be there. Thanks so much for commenting on and watching this video. Very much appreciated!

  • yea, those rides were the best, but as you get older (at least I did) I found no reason to ride the rides, I'd rather smoke a bowl with friends and chill.

  • Would you be able to post what date and time this was shot? Rather a quiet night on the Strip, yet the parking cones make me think it was near a major holiday or Thunder-on-the-Lake. I know it can't be too late at night because Eddie's and some other places are still open, and they all close so early anymore. I miss the days of my youth when the Strip was open - and busy - until 4AM curfew.

  • The video was taken on September 7, 2008. It was a Sunday night around 9 in the evening. Thanks so much for commenting on and watching this video. Much appreciated!

  • I miss whips Open when were here closed when were not I still have some stuff I got there 15 years ago

  • That's great you have some memorabilia from there. Thanks for watching this video post!
