my vw golf iv has a broken cable where you press the button it drops to the bottom of the door and cannot be retrieved unless you take the door card off pressed it heard a grinding sound so the cable is knackered
I have a 2006 B7 A4 2.0T and the drivers side window is doing the exact same thing! This is a piss off. It only has 52000 original kilometers and the previous owner changed the clutch at 30k and I just changed it again 1000 kilometers ago. Very bad quality and I love the look but do not recommend the product. They are making money by selling something that looks good on the outside but cheap parts on the inside. The engine is very good though. Anyways what do I need to do to fix this issue?
Great to know this, I have an Audi A4 2003 and both rear window have this problem. On top of that, the hook to open the hood broke on the side of the hood, now I can not open the hood and I have the whole wire in my hand. Will not buy again an audi.
I like my car but I'm sick and tired of fixing here and there, one thing and another. Now my passenger window won't roll up. I need to find the place to fix it. Defenitely I'm not going to Audi Dealer in Van Nuys. They "EF...Up my car every times I go in. My next car won't be Audi.....nahh..I like Audi, may be 2 years lease.
Oh yes, I know this problem all too well. BOTH my windows are out on the back doors, just outside of the 100k extended warranty too! I love my audi but I have had so many problems with it that it isn't even funny. It's a car you should buy brand new and ditch around 60k miles.
Looks like the regulator is fine since it does roll down. The thing that's bad is a greeen plastic thing that the window slides up and down on. I just fixed mine today wit some glue and zip ties.
This is a common problem for many Audi and VW owners. I shared the video for those who might be having the same issue and are not sure whats going on with their car. This is third VAG vehicle. I know what the cost to repair. Thats why I know how to fix problems like this myself. Thanks for viewing and good luck with your car.
@whoismario So what did you do? I have a B5 S4 and a B6 A4 1.8T and both my rear windows do not work. How much was it to fix it or did you do it youself? Any advice? THANKS!
I've had two of these go on my car so far, as a matter of fact, my front passenger window regulator just went two days ago. I have a warranty, but if I didn't, it would probably cost about $300 to get it repaired, with the diagnosis fee and all. I pay a $50 deductible. Be smart and buy an extended warranty with your car, if the list of things covered isn't a book, don't buy the warranty.
Hmmm...My power window is making a crunching sound when I actuate the motor...LET'S TAKE A VIDEO FOR YOUTUBE, repeating the demonstration twice so nobody misses anything. lol Audi's are great cars, djalexr, I have a 2004 A4 1.8T Quattro Tiptronic, and it has problems like every other car, it hasn't been a lemon to me, and I come from a long line of VW/Audi Products, the reason you hear people bitch so much is because it's sometimes costly to repair. But, you should know that when you buy it.
man...that sucks...what year is your Audi??? i was about to buy a 2009 Audi A4, but i just heard that Audi's have a lot of breakdown problems...can you tell me more about anyproblems you have with your Audi?
my mom was driving her a4 and im not sure if she hit the switch or not but the window just droped down into the door

@KiranTaker270 Sounds like classic regulator failure. Sorry mate. Not hard to do. just tedious. Dont be afraid to give it a shot fixing yourself.

Since the clips are not available, I located a European manufacturer and are now stock all clips for Audi, VW and some BMW.
