do you recommend any particular brand of home fire alarm system? I'd like to get an interconnected system. As of now there's only one smoke detector in the house that is connected to the central alarm system but I'd like all of them to be.

I don't know of any residential AC smoke detectors that synchronize. Kidde's don't, and these are BRK/First Alert brand, which obviously don't. The only other major manufacturer is Firex, but they're all wired the same so I doubt they do either.

There actually is, this perticualr model # is able to be synced. it is discontinued though

hi there, my smoke alarms sync we have there and when one is triggered after 10 seconds all 3 sound and there are ac/dc which is very useful i will upload a vid soon

We have about four fire alarm systems in our house! I have two of my own fire alarms which are wired up through the house (rafiki) then we have the EI smoke detectors (beeping interlinked) and then we have the scantronic system (detectors on the burglar alarm)

LOL well we have Kidde smoke detectors. They are the ones (i'll take a video of them soon) that can be networked together and they sound somewhat like this (they do code-3) and they are LOUDER than these. lol

The actavated one alarms, then 1 sec later, the other 6 alarm in sync with themselves, but not with the first alarm.

yeah, there's definately something wrong with their panel. it's an old FCI with an even older Silent Knight NAC panel attached to it. by the way, what's the gayest fire alarm system you've ever seen? the gayest i've seen is a BOSCH with the Radionics mini horns(dunno if they're GX90s or MIZs) in marchtime.

yes, because the sounders in the smokes won't wake you up in a fire. the strobes and 96db+ horns will. and, if you get a voice evacuation panel, that's even better!

these are the same smokes in my dad's appartment. they suck, and seem to reset the panel whenever they go off. I KNOW, IT'S SO GAY. the GX91s in the appartment suites go into marchtime, while the SpectrAlerts in the hallway go into code 3... for about 25 seconds! its really gay.

yeah, but for some reason, the way the panel is coded, it resets after, like, one MINUTE. also, it would take them awhile, even with their golf cart to get to the panel, because the panel is on the top floor, AND on the other end of the complex.
