  • i dont have v-vocal ? help plz

  • do sonar x1 studio have V vocal ? also can you like make the whole audio sound better with the effect?

  • whats vibrado modulation mean? and so with this we can make r vocals sound on same level right, so does this mean i can sing, with my flat ass singin?

  • I think I might be missing something since the narrator can pin-point the area that is not in tune.

  • What is the visual cue where the vocal is either flat or sharp? I can understand trying to listen for the out of pitch, but is there a visual cue?

  • How do you indicate a minor scale? I do not see any flat symbols on the minature keyboard. I have Sonar 8.5 and love it.....

  • what does it mean when i go to choose to use v-vocal and its not highlighted for use? its darkened out.

  • can you layer your vocals with Sonar?

  • @kevinmlewis24 Yes you can layer as many vocals as you like.

  • i've got sonar LE but i dont know how to make my voice sound a bit nicer

    got an idea?

    xx

  • When I create a v-vocal clip of my voice, it often acquires hoarseness that it didn't have prior to v-vocal processing. Is there a way to avoid this artifact?

  • how do i download this? i have SONAR Home Studio 7XL

  • Do you have to sing live for this to work?

  • I heard that by setting the "Pitch Follow" to zero, the whole thing will sound more natural. Does this make the the vocal less in tune in anyway?

  • woahhhh wait soo this means justin beiber doesnt sound llike a chik liveee?!?!!?

  • sonar fucking sucks!!!if i want to do that much clicking i would load up pro tools.studio one a way better program

  • @KillAProduction can pro tools do all the same shit?

  • @pawndominance1 pro tools is better then sonar and yes!

  • @KillAProduction it can do ALL this voice manipulation shit? does it call it a specific thing within pro tools?-like Sonar uses V Vocal..

  • @pawndominance1 you can do anything with effects bro!

  • ARE THERE ANY REAL SINGERS OUT THERE? FUCK THIS, LEARN HOW TO SING PEOPLE.

  • the singer should know how to sing

  • yeah I gotta say thanks, cause there ain't nothin about any of this in the help, manual or any other documentation from Cakewalk, or at least anything I have been able to find. As frustrating as that is, I still gotta give Cakewalk a standing applause. This program has got to be the most comprehensive DAW on the market. WOW. I started with 5 and have upgraded every sigle time and as frustrating as THAT gets, I'm still on it. Thank you for the tutorial. What can possibly top 8.5? 9.0!?! Boing!

  • is there any way i can download v-vocal or can get autotune or the tpain effect in "SONAR HOME STUDIO VERSION 7"?.... if so.. please hit me back asap

  • It's really useful!

  • I like it a lot! It's like a micro chinese, hahaha!

  • Superb as my vocals occassionally sound flat i have never used v vocal but will be from now on i have sonar 7 pro ed so it should be the same for all series

    Thanks.

  • Even I can sing now

  • use magix

  • holy crap, "tree TOPS"?? How big is that baby? It's gotta be just one "top." A single Tree Top. Come on, Cakewalk! Or I suppose V-Vocal can fix that, too...

  • How much money does this cost??

  • does sonar 6 have v vocal

  • i have bought cakewalk sonar 8.0 , does it have v-vocal?thankyou

  • @crunkkkboyzzz See comment above. V-Vocal is included in SONAR 8 Producer, not studio.

  • @CakewalkSoftware yeah i have cakewalk sonar 8.0 Producer...but hey and i have a problem now,i cant use my midi keyboard,my korg edirol pcr-m30,i dont know why,i cant hear a sound ...can you help me?

  • @CakewalkSoftware Which one is better?

  • @CakewalkSoftware yo DOES SONAR LE have V-vocals?

  • @CakewalkSoftware yo DOES SONAR LE 8.5 have V-vocals?

  • @crunkkkboyzzz if you bought sonar 8 studio there should be a free upgrade to 8.5. on the box it has a website where you can upgrade for free and in the upgrade it has v-vocal.

  • Yes, that's why Taylor Swift SUCKS LIVE! - LOL

Can I get an AMEN brotha' haahaha

  • ok dos this make you voice soun goo if you cant sing at all

  • i have 7 home edition, does it have this?

  • Man,I have a problem. I correct a vocal track with v-vocal,then I import the complete song, and when I play it, the track with v-vocal don´t sound, why is it?

  • there is also an unwanted, involuntary tremolo effect. it resembles the effect on the guitar in the intro to Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day.

  • When i record my voice with a simple USB input microphone, it's off timing to the music. it comes in later than it's supposed to. i know that's not a huge problem but it's annoying. a larger problem i have with recording is when i try playing back my vocals, i sound like Alvin and The Chipmunks. any idea what's going on here or how to fix this? Help would be very much appreciated.

  • will it able to extend your voice longer w/ vibration?

  • Yes, you can add effects and adjust the timing of your vocal track

  • if u don't mind; i would like a tutorial or a simple of what i'm talking about... thanks

  • @CakewalkSoftware is there an effect taht u can add that will make it sound like someones talking in a guitar, like peter frampton kinda,u know wen u like shape ure mouth and ull just sound like Wowoahaawoaha.......ok that wasnt bright, but anyway answer my question please

  • @hangc10 u gotta use the snap n also drag 2 the position u like it 2 play from i dont understand y u r gettin that chip'munk voice u dont have a pitch shifter on as a plungin do u??

  • sonar is way to glitchy

  • Checkout my selfmade beats with Sonar 7 its a great program

  • I have SONAR 8.5 Producer, but i don't find V- Vocal

  • right-click on an audio clip. It should be on the list

  • Cubase has a similar function. Variaudio.

  • That's comparable to melodyne. Looks easier to deal with too.

  • V-Vocal is included in SONAR 8.5 Producer and Studio. It is also included in earlier versions of SONAR Producer

  • does sonar 6 Le have the v-voval function?

  • can u send us a link to help please?

  • I don't have v-vocals, why?

  • What version are you using?

  • i use sonar 7 and i dnt see it????

  • wow i been making music for about 3 years and i didnt even know this existed i have alot to learn any comunities?? i use reason i just got sonar i dont know if its good i heard protools is better and cubase anyone?

  • Definetely! Sonar is the number one software for music producers. Its so easy to use and specially Sonar Producer 8 is worth every penny. I love this software because its so easy to use. I love it!

  • I must admit, the idea of pitch-editing has always turned me off. However, I was excited when I found out sonar had it. It's a lot easier than re-recording a track and it sounds fine and natural as long as you don't over do it.

  • PWNED! lol

  • what are you talking about?

  • Every single video of any sort of vocal pitch correction is full of people saying it's shit blah blah etc.. learn 2 sing etc...

You have to realise that even the best software like melodyne or auto tune still sounds shit in comparison to a proper voice. They create artifacts and are noticable to anyone with a brain.

Sure it makes pop easy to make but who gives a shit, pop has never been about vocal ability.

  • If done by a good engineer on a proper recording, pitch correction can be invisible. some are more obvious than others tho (i.e. waves tune).

but if your singer really sucks, you will hear some weird artifacts when you correct pitch. that's where comping and stacking vox can come into play

  • Can someone tell me why Frank sinatra, ella fitzgerald , jackie wilson marvin gaye et al didnt need this technology? oh yeah just remembered those guys could sing

  • Mainly because it wasn't available to them. Using pitch correction technology doesn't necessarily mean that the vocalist couldn't sing. It's just a quick and economical way of fixing little mistakes, rather than re-doing the take many times (as Ella and dear Frank Sinatra did back in the age of the dinosaurs).

  • plus, it kinda gives the starting musician to put it in some work and make a professional sounding sound, thus giving new chances for the next Frank Sinatra-of our time to be born.

  • can v-vocal do harmony?

  • Does Sonar 8 have V-Vocal in it too? Also, does Sonar work with Protools?

  • When you use technology in a way it wasn't intended that's where innovation takes place. V-Vocal isn't ALL about pitch correction or even vocals if you think outside the box a little.

  • if only people spent this much time not sucking at singing then this wouldn't be necessary, but these days even I could be a singer, not that I could perform it live. BUT WHO CARES, we can just lip sync I guess

  • pretty sure alot of these plugins can be used live, t pain does it all the time, your good to go brother

  • very good video m8 and thx a lot this was good expirience with you THNAK YOU

  • Question: Can you record some ones voice and import it into this program, and it will read and come up with all these synthesisers.

  • If you actually try to sing better you can sound like that but thats the problem no one wants to try harder and thats why the nerds who create this software make more money than the artists themselves, go listen to Tom jones and then think whats what.

  • fuckin A brother, fucking A

  • lol ic where your coming from but its kinda like saying why didn't Bobby Orr use a graphite hockey stick, its just the way she goes brother. everything gets easier and more expensive

  • Is this better than Melodyne

  • holy shit that explains alot about why ppl suck live lol

  • LOL like Brittany Spears!! Those people have no talent they are placed in the position by record producers and this whole gigantic conglomeration of professional bullshit artists because they tend to give the audience a hard on not because they are artists. That's what MTV did for music ...ruined it. I mean when was the last time anyone actually bought an album because the artists were good? I haven't bought an album in years and everything I have bought is over 20 years old. Music is stagnated

  • But what is really good about music tech today, and it;s getting better every day, is that the internet is now primed to give the little artists, peeps with real talent as well as all the goobers out there, an opportunity to reach a massive audience without the middle man who sucks you dry. That's the real benefit of programs like Sonar you aren't held ransom by the mega music conglomerates who screw you out all your money. That's the only reason why I support file sharing and they fight it.

  • Comment removed

  • is it on sonar le?

  • no its not

  • someone plz tell me if u can make a song vocal with this program, meaning 2 take normal song, and making it vocals only, without instruments

  • No, you can't extract vocals from a song with this, the only way you could do that fully it to get the master tracks that were recorded at the studio.

  • so this is how every pop singer have perfect pitch... enlightening

  • You didn't really think they could sing that way did you? hehe

  • hehe, that's right on the money bro.

  • fuckers thers no way to do this live... if your really live ;)

  • Well they do make voice modulators to use live, our singer used to have a VM she used when we would practice ...If you watch when they set up for shows with peeps like Van Halen etc they use a lot of computer gear live but it's all set up well in advance of the show.

  • but not like this, that diffrent

  • Can this feature tune automatically to the nearest pitch? Or is it all manual?

  • It can tune automatically to a key for the song

  • can I raise a pitch like..let's say from B to D without it sounding like the vocalist inhaled helium?, i can't think of a way of doing it, pls hlp!

  • Check out melodyne

  • Yep you can do that with V-Vocal if you set the 'pitch follow' knob to '0' - it's default is '100'.

  • thanks!

  • and im assuming v vocal is included in sonar 7? On another note (no pun intended) which is the least costly software with V-vocal included available for purchase, as i have a rather small budget.

  • At 1:53 does anyone else hear that buzzing? It is from the program or the recording or is it just the crap youtube conversion?

  • I don't hear it.....

  • where can i get v vocal how do i need to make it work???? i need cakewalk?

  • Roland V-Vocal is included in SONAR Producer Edition and SONAR Power Studio. Those are the only products where you can get it.

  • Is it available on Sonar 8 Studio Academic edition? I can't find anywhere on the sonar website that says it does...

    Thanks!

  • I guess it is... at least it is already in Sonar 7 Producer edition...

  • yes you have to right click on the vocal clip. and you will see it

  • hey i have a few questions....first sonar home studio 6 recording software have better quality than audacity? (im pretty sure it would but im only thirteen im not a genius...i need to learn how to set up a studio) but yeah... can you silence parts of a recording you dont want or delete parts too?...in that particular software i mentioned before?...thanks

  • audacityh is just rubbish

  • yeah...but it was all i had when we made r first cd...everyone said the music was great but the quailty sucked...do you have any suggestions for inexpensive recording euipment?

  • WHAT ABOUT FL STUDIO?!?!

  • V-Vocal only works with SONAR

  • wow i just noticed but i have been practicing and i sound perfect ^-^ i thought i would sound bad but nope ^-^

  • Hi i am very new to sonar and i was wondering when a word or pharse goes flat or sharp how do you know where the right note is to correct the pitch?

  • Well, if you can hear the note that's flat, you would want to change that note. You can see the waveform at the same time that you hear the audio, when you hear a flat note, select that section of the audio and change the pitch

  • Video quality was a little poor due to youtube compressing everything but its still very helpful.

I got Sonar 6 Producer a while back but never got around to using and learning v-vocal. Now thanks to your video I can see how easy it is to use and can correct my vocal tracks.

  • Awesome, glad to hear it

  • man,thank u 4 posting this on youtube,,u helped me a lot,,:D

  • OUr pleasure, glad it helped you out

  • Hi i wanted to ask, is there any way i can extract background music from the vocals, or anything that sounds as if the vocal is only listened to..

  • sweet

  • dont u think that this is kind of cheating.

  • nah, I'll rather fix a part where i messed up than record the whole thing again.

  • Don't you think that your opinion is kind of... well, amish? :P

  • TOTALLY!!!

  • Tools such as this are great as long as you don't start to rely on IT instead of just re-singing in tune.

    Grammy Winning Engineer

    Khaliq Glover aka

    Khaliq-O-Vision

  • Well said.....

  • i wish this was vst and rtas cuz roland could make a killing i got melodyne and i dont think its this accurate

  • where can i download it ?

  • This product is not available as a download. It's included as part of SONAR Producer Edition.

  • ah ok thanks :-(

  • what if you already have sonar 7..?

  • If you have SONAR 7 Producer Edition you already have this. If you only have SONAR 7 Studio Edition you can upgrade to Producer Edition.

  • I used to be a singer and loved recording myself. So many times I had a nearly perfect take that captured the right emotion but maybe one tiny bit was sharp or flat. A tool like this would be amazing to tweak a track that is already close to what you wanted to achieve.

  • can m audio products work on this

  • yeah it's just a matter of wiring sonar to the correct in/outputs

  • dumbass they use a shitty sounding singer to show you what a difference this tool can make...

the vocals your hearing are not even from a human, they are a computer voice ,but this guy shows how you can make a computer voice sound more real using this V Vocal plug in..

  • how much does this program cost?

  • Its included in Sonar 6 and Sonar 7. It is very handy!

  • when i heard the edited version, its so obviously obvious that its been edited.

  • And what's wrong with that?

  • i dont understand anythin bout this lol but i relli wish i did cuz i want it to inprove my voice (not like its bad) i dont understand - i suppose that what you get for b in a dumb blonde lol

  • Wanna know how to get a perfect vocal track? Rehearse it and get it right, this is the shit that's turning music into a talentless world.

  • haha yes thank you!!!

  • afuckinggreed. hands down 100% correct.

  • This is the way>

    1.VST Vocal MAgiC RSO

    2.VST Melodyne celedyne

  • ann u tell me the names of the programs which are similar to this that work for cubase?

  • Melodyne comes in VST (which cubase supports)

  • Wow thats really cool. Does it work with cubase? If not do you know of any similar software that does work with cubase

  • No, V-Vocal is something that works with SONAR only. There arfe some programs that work with Cubase but they cost hundreds of dollars, it would be cheaper for you just to by a competitive crossgrade to SONAR

  • I'm glad i have sonar 6 then =)... but to bad i don't sing much.... but still the amp simulations on it are really something.

  • No, it's included with SONAR Producer Edition or SONAR Power Studio

  • One annoying thing about V Vocal is, let's assume you have created your V Vocal track. Once, you have accomplished this, adding any kind of process, reverb, delay, compression, etc... becomes impossible when you go to the "Process" function.

  • You need to render the V-Vocal track in order to apply a process to it. You can always still patch the effect on the track in the FX bin though, which is more desirable because it is non destructive editing.

  • you can also texturize notes to make them sound fuller, like a note in head voice can be mechanized to sound more like it was done in chest.

  • Rubber Plate.

  • is there any program that can erase vocals completly, because i heard there is i just dont know the name

  • For this feature... what is the actual product i would have to purchase??

  • SONAR Producer Edition or SONAR Power Studio

  • You're really good

Like a pro or something like that

Very coooooooll ..you've gott talented ,,

Is it easy to do that kind of stuff ??

    Speacly for begginers xP

  • Yeah I think it's pretty easy for beginners.

  • Are right thanks !

  • CakewalkSoftware:

The video probably answered it but I just want to ask it to be sure: When you sing a song and can´t hit the high notes it´s possible to drag the voice up to the notes you want to hit? Did I understand it correctly? Hope you will answer.

  • Yes you can do this with SONAR's V-Vocal feature

  • Can you download a free trial of this software or do you have to buy it straight off?

  • wow! i dint know sonar had that lol... nice, now one of my friend has hope lol

  • i think every singer uses this tool now. i know david foster said he did. this would be a great tool for a singer to let them know when they r off pitch or flat. i never know when i am flat unless i am told.

  • this person sings horrible!!!

  • Well yes, that's why we chose the example. It's wouldn't be much fun to show V-VOcal on someone who sings perfectly

  • So to sum it all up... if you use V-Vocal, you're Satan, right? lol

  • E=MC2 I will use this, as soon as I finish my PhD from MIT.

  • just need a better singer! lol

  • what is the best program to record vocals?

    please answer

  • BEst program. Sorry not to answer but theres no such thing. Just have a good singer and a good mic. Condenser preferably.

  • doesnt sound right when the vocal is stretched but a brilliant tool for a non singer, cant help you out live though thank god, its been this way for a while now and you really dont know who can and cant sing, spice girls spring to mind

  • i just got my studio 6 and am trying to figure how to use it to master stuff i record on my tascam digital 8 track but i can get no responce from the makers

  • the corrected bits sound reverby-funny, but propably in the mix one would not notice.

That's what keeps Lavigne in business!

  • This would be why I like artists like Brandi Carlile. She records her songs in one sitting and doesn't "clean" them. It actually sounds "real"... Go figure.
