  • This pool is beautifull

  • its funny that at this point dara torres was a retired old lady...who would have thought that 4 years later she wouldve won the silver at the olympics

  • Klim should never had swum in this relay. Came into the Olympics underdone

  • lol!!!!5:41

  • I would be scared sh*tless seeing Thorpe catch up in the first 100 like that on the American team

  • how could keller hold of thorpe

    THORPE

  • @kb24forlife1

cuz he had a nearly two second lead :D

  • USA, USA! Kick the fag Thorpe's ass! Talking smack about Phelps in Beijing! Loser! Phelps and USA rock!

  • Can't blame Thorpe, he went in 1.48 seconds behind Keller which was always going to require a mirical, and he swam a great split time. Also very hard to race tacticly because Keller is a back end swimmer who finishes very strongly. Congratulations must go to Keller, it takes allot of mental strength to swim well when Ian Thorpe is coming up on your shoulder, and he swam fantastic here.

  • .13 is still quite alot not ALOT ALOT but enough that its not like very very close

  • first time seeing this race...pretty awesome..

  • good on ya boys

    next time,

    OZZIE

  • i was there

it was one of the best days of my life

  • I would piss my pants if I were the anchor leg...

  • 2nd best u.s. relay ever : )

  • @rumard959 1st is what the 4x100m free in beijing

  • Too bad this isn't CBC's broadcast. You would have heard Canada's anchor leg Rick Say say that he was "pissed off" at Canada's performance.

  • i miss ian :-(

  • Me too. I still watch clips of his swim just to see that beautiful freestyle.

  • The US relay team watched Miracle the night before to give them to motivation needed to defeat the Aussies.

  • What do you mean "Thorpe blew it"? His split was 1.44.1 something! It was better than in his individual race where he went 1.44.7 something i believe. He did his best...The USA just had too big of an advantage. Go thorpey!=))

  • @nadador1515 yeh thorpe didnt blow it Klim did lol he tired heaps in the end

  • good job michael you rock

  • that was amazing i will watch it over and over again michael you rock

  • yea thorpe fucking blew it, he should of caught up a bit at the start, and then kept his own pace untill the las 50 - 70m then i bet he would of beat fucking keller. THORPE FUCKING RUELS!!!!!

  • ian thorpe blew it. instead of catching up to keller in the first 50 meters he should have kept his own pace unti the last 50-70 meters and go all out.

  • i agree, both times he did that (sydney 2000) he ended up- loising as he cant hold on to the pace

  • motherfucker americans!!!

something happened to Ian, his legkick failed, specialy during the turns

  • thorpe rulez

  • Dara Torres was the commentator here ! :)

  • thorpe had got him at 100m and then something quite unbelievable happened, he did a bad turn. it's so rare of him but this time as soon as i saw him start kicking i thot omfg he's come off short omfg he's come off short...

  • It is awesome that the usa is on top again. from your friend hollyhalstead.

  • great race. i wanted phorpe to take him...

  • WOW I still have the goosebumps whatever I watch it again.

    Michael Phelps ROCK!

  • yes! i've been trying to find this for a while!

  • great sportsmanship shown by the australians

  • 3° Italy!!!

  • its about time someone uploaded this race

  • Exactly.

I'm kinda surprised how many of the other swims from this Olympics are posted but not this one.

    Thanx, edhofmann.

  • WOW! This IS the MOST AMAZING Freestyle Relay I have ever seen! Michael Phelps looks sooo happy. Wish him good luck in Beijing. Bring back 8 Golds!

  • Beijing will sure be very interesting...

For me, what is the most amazing thing here in this 4x200 is when Thorpe goes into the water.. I remember seen an image underwater showing that he started so damn strong that if you see, he took the advantage US has placed till that point in just the first lap! - Thorpe, if you ever read this, you ruled! :D

  • @edhofmann Beautiful Video

  • @cloudrainbreeze This is the 2nd most amazing Freestyle Relay I've ever seen. The first being the 4x100m relay at the Beijing games in 2008.

  • Yes, this is one of the best 4*200 Freestyle Relay I have ever seen. If Phelps, Lochte and Vanderkaay would not have been infront of the the Australian team in the first 600 metres, it would have been very difficult or impossible for Keller to come over Thorpe, as the latter did in the 700 metres. Fantastic race indeed.
