its funny that at this point dara torres was a retired old lady...who would have thought that 4 years later she wouldve won the silver at the olympics
Can't blame Thorpe, he went in 1.48 seconds behind Keller which was always going to require a mirical, and he swam a great split time. Also very hard to race tacticly because Keller is a back end swimmer who finishes very strongly. Congratulations must go to Keller, it takes allot of mental strength to swim well when Ian Thorpe is coming up on your shoulder, and he swam fantastic here.
What do you mean "Thorpe blew it"? His split was 1.44.1 something! It was better than in his individual race where he went 1.44.7 something i believe. He did his best...The USA just had too big of an advantage. Go thorpey!=))
yea thorpe fucking blew it, he should of caught up a bit at the start, and then kept his own pace untill the las 50 - 70m then i bet he would of beat fucking keller. THORPE FUCKING RUELS!!!!!
ian thorpe blew it. instead of catching up to keller in the first 50 meters he should have kept his own pace unti the last 50-70 meters and go all out.
thorpe had got him at 100m and then something quite unbelievable happened, he did a bad turn. it's so rare of him but this time as soon as i saw him start kicking i thot omfg he's come off short omfg he's come off short...
For me, what is the most amazing thing here in this 4x200 is when Thorpe goes into the water.. I remember seen an image underwater showing that he started so damn strong that if you see, he took the advantage US has placed till that point in just the first lap! - Thorpe, if you ever read this, you ruled! :D
Yes, this is one of the best 4*200 Freestyle Relay I have ever seen. If Phelps, Lochte and Vanderkaay would not have been infront of the the Australian team in the first 600 metres, it would have been very difficult or impossible for Keller to come over Thorpe, as the latter did in the 700 metres. Fantastic race indeed.
This pool is beautifull

Too bad this isn't CBC's broadcast. You would have heard Canada's anchor leg Rick Say say that he was "pissed off" at Canada's performance.

The US relay team watched Miracle the night before to give them to motivation needed to defeat the Aussies.
