That's what I like about music from the 70's and 80's - people weren't afraid to be different and individual. When Florence (and the machine) portrayed Kate bush as cliff Richard, she did so with a refinement rarely seen on stage. The wuthering heights/millennium prayer mix was a joy to behold, and she got bush's respect for Richard down to a tee with her pagan style rendition of mistletoe and wine in the final scene.

Kate Bush was around before Florence Welch, so obviously Kate Bush wasn't inspired by Florence. In my opinion, Florence Welch is just as good as Kate Bush. i looked up kate bush working with cliff richard and all i could find was that he played heathcliff in a musical of wuthering heights. heathcliff cliff he is referred to amusingly. you can watch him playing the guitar with hank marvin and the shadows. he does the same facial mannerisms as when he sings. quite annoying fellow i find him to be. and who could forgive him for putting the "our father" to the tune of "auld lang syne". man that was a stinker.

Cliff being the Peter pan of pop), Cliff just urged her on in the writing of it. (ps even though he never played bass with the shadows, he was very accomplished player.
