  • She's amazing.... but NUTS!!

  • @ipodryan7 ...the best kind of amazing.

  • IGCSE brought me here and I love it. not IGCSE, but the song. LOVE YOU KATEEEEEE

  • My mum doesn't understand how I can be a teenager of the 21st century and LOVE Kate Bush! SIMPLE! KATE IS AWESOME!

  • Thumbs up if Tupac brought you here.

  • If I had a thousand lifetimes....

  • At first I tought Kate Bush's lyrics had nothing to do with with the book, but they do!

'Heathcliff, let me in your window!"

  • That move at 2:24 is so awesome.

  • Magique et indétronable. Et d'une grande maturité à un jeune age.

  • video simples, muito bem feito em que o talento é mais forte que putaria, uma ´epoca que mulher tinha dignidade e não precisava mostrar a bunda para fazer sucesso

  • this song haunts MY mind!

  • great song!

  • Memories of good year, some music takes you right back;-) you where def, something new Kate.An insparation to many other female artist since then. You where in the charts before anyone even heard of the name Madonna. And then some people say on a video of 1980 Kate ripped of gaga,Gaga was not even born in 1980;-)))

  • Absolute art.

  • Puppy.. comes home !!!!!!!I I love you.<3

  • This song has been haunting me for days...

  • Just love being British....

  • She is amazing.... True English rose....

  • i remember seeing this when i was about 5, and she genuinely terrified me, that crazy look in her eyes!

  • i love the song

  • This song is always stuck in my head..(not that I'm complaining :P)

  • @sallyg270 we are in the same boat! I saw a two part production of "Wuthering Heights" a couple of months ago-my first encounter with the story-and ever since then I've had a kind of "package deal" in my head...Kate,the film, her songs, and this one in particular! But as you say,I'm not complaining!

  • She is a goddess; thought I have most of her production on CD`s and computer I find myself coming to youtube just to enjoy her marvelous expressions.

  • melody is perfectly written

  • Perfectible...maybe

  • It's so crap but I always find myself returning

  • Apparently she was doing her 'Witch Impression' in this video...

It worked, this video is bewitching!

  • That woman is on drugs!! she has to be!!

  • @CrazyIrishDrunk1 The only drugs she ever used where her music instruments and the songwriting, that kind of art in you can get you high I guess

  • This songs sends chills up and down my spine.

  • Actually*

  • She is a tally a godess

  • My favourite bit is 2.43 - 2.46

  • Esta mujer y esta cancion es lo maximo...Se me eriza la piel al escucharla!

  • Amazing vocals, lyrics and choreography......definitely agree that Kate should have had the Outstanding Contribution to Music award at the Brits.

  • Thumbs up who wanted to read the book after listening to this!

  • @TheAlphawolfgirl absolutely!

  • @TheAlphawolfgirl Read it about ten times, it never gets old :D

  • Noel fielding brought me here but I just like this song now

  • Merecia Ter Passado no Fantástico na época com arranjo com músico brasileiros! e o clipe gravado no Brasil desse jeito com a produção da Globo!

  • @Rafanax21 Não queira estragar a musica, tudo que a Globo mexe vira merda.

  • Kate Bush should've won the BRIT Award for Best British Female.

    I'm gutted that she didn't.

    WE LOVE YOU KATE!

  • @ItsKamaal To be honest, she should win the 'Outstanding Contribution to Music' Brit Award for sure!! She is nothing less than a British Musical Icon & one of the most ingenuitive singer AND songwriter that has ever graced the musical industry ♥♥ I think this very strongly & i'm 18 ^____^

  • @MrTobikuma Great point, but no-one gives a shit about how old you are, also agree it is and always will be thought of as a great song.

  • @MrTobikuma I completely agree with you.

    She's absolutely amazing, from 1978-2012!

    I'm 15 as well :D

  • @ItsKamaal Even if she didn't she's still the best in my eye's =)

  • @echoingheads Mine too!

  • @ItsKamaal You are right but who needs awards when its Kate Bush we are talking about?

  • @ItsKamaal No, no, no. She shouldn't. Grammies aren't for real musicians. These are for those 'so-called' (by the people) artists. And most of the people just don't a real and own opinion, so all they do is to listen what's on the radio and call those 'musicians', and they won those awards specially just for them. It's basically the industry awarding the industry. Don't feel bad, people! KATE BUSH DOESN'T DESERVE TO GET THAT STUPID GRAMMY!

  • @jmdb1994 In a way, you're right...

But I still wanted her to win something.

  • How old is this song?

  • @strangeelena If you read the description, it states that the song debut in January 1978. I was only 5 at the time. LOL! She was way ahead of her game ;)

  • @PunkadelixBiker thanks!

  • She's strange, but I like it very much!

  • why are we comparing kate and florence? both are so brilliant.

  • This is so beautiful.,.it makes you want to cry

  • Una delle piu belle canzoni di sempre!

  • and people think she has nothing to do with magic .. trippy, thanks

  • Wow!! Oh my god deep music I could play this all day

  • Kate Bush sings with great passion i like her older songs they were more original not like the junk we call music nowadays

  • I love Kaet Bush but I'll be honest I like her voice in recent years much better than days of old...too shrieky...The laryngitis plus maturity has done her a world of good. Just listen to "Ariel"

  • Enchanting beauty.

  • Well that was different....Cool but different(:

  • @w0bbl3r Hey, I like Stevie, but I like Kate too! Both were trying to be their own selves. Stevie may not have the best vocals on her songs but she's a great songwriter; same goes for Kate. That's what I like about music from the 70's and 80's - people weren't afraid to be different and individual. Nowadays, you have to be a stereotype before record companies will even listen to you.... sad.... :-/

  • @howiwondrwhatur sorry to prove you wrong here, but i read the book and i like this song :-/ though i don't like the whole 'dance' sequence all right but i enjoy the song. so please stop judging people just because they're not like you and have the same tastes as you!

  • @DiligentSleeper You are totally right. In fact, as I've listened some more to it, it has a kind of appeal. Sort of. ;-)

  • @howiwondrwhatur Yeah, the first time I had it, it didn't appeal to me much either! in fact, I was like 'what the hell?!' but it sticks the more you listen to it :-P haha

  • sorry but this is hillarious!

  • her eyes are weird

  • I've heard this song for 30 years now - and I still can't stand Kate's high-pitched, screetchy opening and squeeky voice in general. She looks like she's trying to be Stevi Nicks here. Sorry, I know you are all going to freak - but Kate was never my cup of tea....

  • @FlyByNight1975 No, not everyone will "freak out" because you have an opinion. Some respect your right to dislike her.

What makes one question the validity of your statement is not the implication of your opinion, but the fact that you deliberately exposed yourself to something you admittedly dislike for no aparent logical reason.

  • @FlyByNight1975 Come on admit it, you're a closet Kate fan really. That's why you clicked on this very familiar, unmistakable, three decade old Kate Bush song. Can't think of any other reason you were here.

  • Psh, so what? I've written better songs than this. Last week I wrote a song called Banana Waffle. It was the tops.

  • @shemganforash

    I bet it was.

  • If you don't like this, you have no musical taste!!!!

  • slightly perculiar, but what would would the world be without wonder and enchantment, tell the world by making this a top comment.

  • Heathcliff, PANG!!!

  • We're off to Haworth in May, so looking forward to it :-)

  • such enthusiasm

  • Omg, that gave me shivers, she's incredible!!! Just started reading wuthering heights too :)

  • bahahahahahahahaha wtf?

  • Whilst I think the video is corney, I see a special singer before her time - these days she'd win got talent, x factor and idol hands down.

  • @LMChalmers1 She wouldn't get near shows like that, they are not about talent, they are karaoke contests.

  • A Masterpiece!

  • Heathcliff! its me I'm Cathy, I've come home!!!

  • thumbs up if u think this one of one of the ,most unique songs ever made not like some of the mindless BS we get today!

  • somthig wrong with my speakers?(no offence)

  • @TallisOpus Yes, Kate seems to be an English woman all the way.

  • I adore Kate Bush AND Tori Amos. But Kate absolutely predates Tori. Absolutely.

  • what a bomb song

  • @Dweezer123 You do know that this video is from 1978, and that Tori Amos Wrote her first song in 1980? Releasing her first cd in 1984.....

  • @Dweezer123 you are being sarcastic right?...lol....is the other way around...Tori was admitely influenced by KAte Bush..not the other way around...but you are taking the piss or I did not comprehend what you wrote...: )

  • I couldn't tell what she was saying, I was too busy looking at the weird dancing...

  • Noel fielding brought me here

  • thats fucking creepy

  • voce meravigliosa da brividi!!!!!

  • @TallisOpus - I could not have put it better myself! Especially love 'Kate is as English as roast beef on a sunday'!! Deserves to be top comment lol

  • school brought me here lol

  • Tete eh melhor

  • Ow. My ears.

  • Musica linda, Interpretação linda, filme lindo, historia linda, mas que videozinho ridiculo da Katy heim?! quis dancinhas sem noção!

    kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • "Bush was born in Bexleyheath, Kent, to English physician Robert Bush and his Irish wife, Hannah Daly"

That's Wiki for you. She's English, always has been. Enough said!

  • Who cares where she is from, just enjoy this brilliant piece of music.

Stunning guitar solo at the end, although this version fades too soon.

  • @Dweezer123 Kate IS British.

  • thumbs up if u know the dance :D

  • @Dweezer123 - Kate is English not American!

  • When Florence (and the machine) portrayed Kate bush as cliff Richard, she did so with a refinement rarely seen on stage. The wuthering heights/millennium prayer mix was a joy to behold, and she got bush's respect for Richard down to a tee with her pagan style rendition of mistletoe and wine in the final scene.

  • @GlynusRoach the wuthering heights/millenium prayer was saved only by the additional backing vocals by keith flint and ken dodd on the didgereedoo. the rest of it was a travesty in my opinion. and what was the cliff richard look alike thinking when he came on with his tennis clothes for heavens sake. it was the middle of the moor and it was pitch black. summer holiday it wasnt. i heard bush tutting from where i was sitting.

  • Florence was still in nappies when Kate did this! Kate is without doubt the original crazy girl. She's been copied relentlessly ever since.

  • beautiful wave at the end, this is amazing.

  • Thanks GOD USA create VH1 for europeans like me watch and listen again this treasures. :D

  • florence and the machines do not compare to kate bush, nor did they influence her just incase anyone was wondering. apparently she played the part of cliff richard in wuthering heights tho.

  • @123jsbach Florence and the Machine was inspired by Kate Bush- they're pretty good compared to some modern day artists. Kate Bush was around before Florence Welch, so obviously Kate Bush wasn't inspired by Florence. In my opinion, Florence Welch is just as good as Kate Bush. Actually listen to their songs before you make such a comment.

  • Hmmmm...... Not sure how I got on this video. But I'm yet to be convinced Kate bush is actually any good. Over hyped much??!!

  • @Dweezer123 Unique style. That's enough for considering her a true artist

  • @Dweezer123 haaaa! you're here nearly as much as me! its bloody great and you know it! texturally the build up from the orchestral bells through to the sparse accompaniment from the piano and harpsichord, bass guitar and then the drums, it is truly remarkable! bush has a unique voice that she explores with ease and finesse of her vocal register. she reflects the passion and energy of the text in a slightly understated, edgy way. bloody hell i think i'm in love with her! ;)

  • Still amazing, after so many years. I love you Kate.

  • @TheCooldude20 - it's never too late to discover the genius that is Kate Bush!

  • its me iam cathy and i hab hungaaaar^^

  • There are beautiful voice,

    There are very beautiful voice,

And there is Kate Bush's voice.

  • Why do I watch this over, and over again? My neighbours must be quite miffed, lol It's 3:32am and this is my 5th time!

  • sono innamorato di kate bush da quando avevo 17 anni. Adesso vado per i 50 e ne vado sempre pazzo. Un motivo ci sarà......!

  • That's Noel up there.

  • nice

  • Greatest music video known to man.

Kates dance is priceless and the song is timeless.

    It will never get old.

  • its me i am cathy

  • 123 people thought it was George rather than Kate...

  • @KCHAPYUK Ah ah ahahahahha! How witty! Seriously, though, fuck off. This is not about politics, but the amazing talent Ms. Bush has.

    Scram, troll.

  • Skitscape

  • @biesotter Yup, lol.

  • This song is actually really dark. My sister kept singing it without realising just quite what the context was.

  • my .. what big eyes you have

  • "Let me grab your soul away" |_ _|

  • SCARRRRRYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • now when i see this all i can see in my head is noel fielding dancing to it XD its so funny

  • How brilliant is it to look back at this. It was about 10 years before my time but I love it. Nowadays, people sing about their bitches and bling. Kate Bush sang a song based on classic literature. Timeless and pure class!

  • @DaniMissSW6 You can't be that naive to assume that all songs these days are about bitches and bling (and that subject matter is has any bearing on the lyrics at all, for that matter).

  • @DaniMissSW6

There are still a lot of artist who sing meaningful songs that aren't based on bitches or bling. It's about turning off the top 40 radio and saying forget it to most pop music and hip-hop and looking for artists who mean something to you.

  • @DaniMissSW6 sooo with you...being the youngest of 8 girls, I heard it before my time!! It's so original, one of a kind and haunting...as a little kid it scared me a little. Then I read the book and figured out what she was talking about...no wonder she is coming across in a "haunting" kind of way...makes sense!!!

  • Lol, my language arts class brought me here:D

  • Why am I watching this?

  • @n1ckf00c Because its brilliant.

  • She's something special isn't she ? We don't really understand what she's on about but suspect it may be so good we're not aware of it yet.

  • Studying Wuthering heights for english and all I hear is this song

  • I dreamt about this song the other night only it was called withering hearts lol

  • i looked up kate bush working with cliff richard and all i could find was that he played heathcliff in a musical of wuthering heights. heathcliff cliff he is referred to amusingly. you can watch him playing the guitar with hank marvin and the shadows. he does the same facial mannerisms as when he sings. quite annoying fellow i find him to be. and who could forgive him for putting the "our father" to the tune of "auld lang syne". man that was a stinker.

  • I've seen cliff playing the guitar, that boy sure can play

  • @thewoodlandwitch55 sorry for any confusion I may of caused, but kate bush didn't write "in search of Peter pan" about cliff (but how ironic is that! Cliff being the Peter pan of pop), Cliff just urged her on in the writing of it. (ps even though he never played bass with the shadows, he was very accomplished player. Playing in songs by Cilla Black, Petula Clark and even a novelty song by Christopher biggins!)

  • I think I just turned straight

  • I actually don't agree with a lot @glynusroach says, but unfortunately he's right with the cliff Richard connection. Kate bush wrote the song "in search of Peter pan" inspired by cliff. Later on as thanks Kate bush asked cliff to play bass on "top of the world".

  • Cliff Richard is a legend, and an inspiration to many other artists

  • @GlynusRoach name one. granny gump in the local nursing home doesnt count.next you'll be saying daniel o'donnel is a creative genius.

  • vggv

  • just goes to show how shit LAdy Ga ga is thistrack is pure class the 1970's in 5 mins

  • @123jsbach You call her dancing crazy, I call it sexy and intriguing. To each his own.

  • @KevinMarkMusic crazy dancing is good. intriguing she most certainly is. she is a genius. :)

  • @KevinMarkMusic crazy dancing is good. as i said she conveys the desperation of longing so beautifully. :)

  • peaches and robyn? im ignorant!!!!!!!! off i go on a new quest.

  • Don't forget dolly!

  • kate bush

    björk

    goldfrapp

    peaches

    robyn

    bette midler

    women with class.......

  • @butterbread1000 actually peaches and robyn are a bit on the lame side if you ask me. certainly not on the same level as bjork or kate bush. just my opinion i know.

  • @123jsbach i have to admit it takes time to appreciate peaches and robyn...but once you do you can never turn back. it happens all of a sudden and without notice lol.

  • Polska kocha Kasię Busz. Pozdrawiamy Cię Kasiu

  • Kate Bush capturing the soul of the book, amazing. I can listen to and watch this all day. Thx so much for sharing :)
