Sorry to see a biker got knocked off by a brainless driver. one thing for sure your exhaust was way too quiet. Get a new aftermarket exhaust without the baffle, at least if you got hit again hehe it will be a deaf bloke hehe. May the Force be with you
Personally I’d always move to the other side of the hatchings, it’s easy to pick up puncture in that area, it also expands your safety bubble etc. Glad you are OK.
To be fair the guy in the car would never had seen you because you darted past him right in his blind spot, however I bet you he never even looked in his mirror or shoulder checked.
The manouver you did there looked to be more like an overtake NOT filtering.
If you filter like this you are bound to be knocked off, you have to ride more defensiley.
Another young car driver. That's why insurance is so god damn high. Check your mirrors or risk injuring a rider. How long does it take to check your mirrors?! About two seconds! People are so selfish these days.
Yarr' lite' M8. Yeah thanks, I'm fine and dandy I'll get my bike & be on my way. Didn't check mirrors what-soever + he was turning into a right hand turn for the other traffic.
Technically this wasn't filtering, it was overtaking. The car was legally to blame as he changed direction into the bike's path causing the crash (there's a legal case to prove this in court. If you have a problem with this in court, pm me and I'll send it you). Slowing down a little and clearing the cars a bit more would have helped. Horrible to see you rolling down the road and glad you're ok buddy
@RoadcraftNottingham How do you differentiate between overtaking and filtering? I thought they were technically the same thing. I'd agree that it was overtaking due to the speed difference between the cars and the bike. Just interested as too where you see the difference.
@chidlowt They are essentially the same thing but I personally feel if you're slowly "feeding your way" through very slow moving traffic, it's filtering.
Mate glad your alright, a little tip for next time, if there are no oncoming then your free to move right over to give yourself more space and time to react against dickheads like that driver, if there is oncoming traffic the car wont try an overtake. Ride Safe bud
@Goolz You're a chump, know that? Filtering is legal and fine. He wasn't breaking any traffic laws and was within the speed limit. Obvs the guy who pulled out wasn't looking where he was going and just flicked out with any regard or due attention to other road users. Unfortunatly thats life and it's something that you have to deal with being a motorcyclist.
I hope you let him know what he done was wrong, glad your ok, but accidents like this can end up killing people just because the driver is too lazy to look
perfectly legal to doo whhat the bike was doing, car driver 100% at fault a quick glannce and the driver would hhave seen him, you dont drive into a roundabout with your eyes closed, why move your car anywhere without looking first!!
Not sure about "traffic slowing to a crawl", as overtakes commences well before. Also overtaking through junction on right with a car waiting to join traffic. Driver should have checked mirror, but neither party blameless.
motorbike shouldn't been riding up alongside the cars. Not saying the car didn't pull out as he should have looked in his mirrors but the last thing he's going to expect is some bike comming up alongside. The road does have its diagonal lines which you are not meant to drive on of which the car that pulled out also did
@arteddie Filtering is fine but in this case it was too close to the cars and too fast, 50/50 I would say. Fortunately for the rider the driver of the car took full responsibility for the accident.
Jeezo. Glad to hear your alright! You should show this video to new riders so they know why wearing full protective gear is vital!
Loved that guy that hit you though,
"you alright mate?"
Hmm since you've just hit me and rolled along the road how about NO!

Did I see your bike continue to roll down the road? What did it crash into, looked a bit like a bus shelter?
CycleGaz 2 months ago
@CycleGaz I was fine just minor cuts and bruise's i had full protective gear on thankfully it all done its job.
Bike carried on just past the buss stop hit the kerb, mounted the pavement hit a signpost and started spinning on the spot.
Thankfully the bike didn't hit anyone.
