i catch snakes all the time. my dad taught me how to catch rattlers by hand so as you don't get bit. got me a perty gopher snake a few weeks ago, he now sits on my cowboy hat as a hatband with a big ol turkey feather stuck in him. he also grilled up nice in some texas pete sauce.

There is dangerous cross-breeding between rattlers and bull snakes here in Colorado...Is any other state having this problem? These snakes are apperaring everywhere, and they are like 4 foot 3 inch thick rattlers.

sorry to burst your bubble but it's physically impossible for a venomous rattlesnake to cross-breed with a bull snake (non venomous). rattlesnakes are live bearers & bull snakes lay eggs. Dunno where you're getting your information from but like I said, it's absolutely impossible for them to cross-breed.

that's pretty normal for rattle snakes. stephssnakes is right, live bearing snakes will not cross breed with egg bearing snakes. I'm currently researching hybridization among snakes, boas especially for the speed and ease of their live born clutches.

Out here in Virginia we have Rattlers AND Copperheads, the rattlers dont crossbreed but the Copperheads do with Black Snakes, to create a snake that looks like a black snake but is poisonous.

Back here we actually prefer the Rattlers because they actually give you a warning
