Because this is a black and white print, 'zibbyzubb'. Apparently, this was sent to one of ABC's affiliates for "delayed broadcast" purposes...that was NOT telecasting anything in color [very few ABC stations in the '60s had color broadcasting facilities, even after they finally started to program "all-color" prime-time schedules in the fall of 1966].
Notice during the closing credits that the show is "A Greenway Production." A number of the same crew members, such as Music Supervisor Lionel Newman, Production Supervisor Jack Sonntag, and Exec. Producer Assistant Charles FitzSimons also worked on William Dozier's other TV series: Batman and The Green Hornet. 'Tammy Grimes' was, unfortunately, Greenway's shortest-lived show. But one could say that Dozier's company was the Miller-Boyett of its day, when it came to ABC programs.
Radar indicates unidentified vessel, 100 yards ahead. Kinda late isn't it? Radar must be by Hasbro. Funny how some shows just grind on you. The Lucy Show was one. And anything with Dick Sargeant. This is the first time I've seen this one. Glad I did. Even the theme song would have had me running for the channel changer knob. The acting was positively atrocious, as well as the writing. Tammy is easy to look at though. Did any of William Dozier's shows actually have good scripts and acting? Thanks
Her full character name was "Tamantha" as an homage to the name "Samantha" the character she would have played had she accepted the role on "Bewitched"-
Thanks for posting this, I guess. This show is as bad as all the critics said is was. And this was the episode chosen as the premiere. In retrospect, her "See you next week-I hope" was prophetic.
John(ny) Williams also wrote the theme for Irwin Allen's "THE TIME TUNNEL" that season, 'Cindy'.

Color? In the credits at the end it credits Color by Deluxe. Why is this in black and white?

According to IMDb, Ms. Grimes was born in Boston, MA. So she's American through and through. It's the accent.

I wouldn't know about British, but it did seem somewhat New Englandesque.

"Theme by Johnny Williams"?!? You don't hear him talk about this one nowadays...
