well if u can shoot that then i recon u should go into the olympics because that is one hell of a task. fair play to you. keep up the good shooting, well thats an understatement ( keep up the amazing shooting)
That comment below me has gotta be by the most incipit useless twat that ever posted a comment. If he wants to get his knickers in a knot, he probably should watch a few vids of second rate hunters hitting and wounding large game
@theblaad These are Silver asian carp in the Illinois river. The boat motor gets the fish stirred up and they jump., I wish they would let me use a shotgun.
@theblaad Carp jump out of the water at the sound of engine noise. Here in Memphis, when running a towboat without a barge,we always seem to kick up a bunch of carp on deck.I always wanted to bring my crossbow with a fishing rig to work & sit on the head of the barge to shoot them as they jumped.
@sultaraco You obviously do not understand the challenge to shoot these fish with an arrow. It is simply fun to do. If the object was to come home with large numbers of fish, we would take your advice. Meanwhile, I plan to do a lot more of this.
@5Ivan7 / I do understand the challenge and kudos to you for even attempting it but if it has to do with hunting or fishing i usually try to find a more efficient way of getting the job done, you won't see me Pigeon shooting with a blow dart for instance or Boar hunting with my eyes blindfolded,je,je,je.
@5Ivan7 It is simply fun to do...? Killing a live animal with an arrow - simply fun to do? How I wish I could stick that arrow up your ar*se and leave it there to fester... Stupid, moronic, idiotic ...
@drmartyn yes,it is fun to do.Asian carp were imported to weed out lakes but they escaped during floods & now eat vegetation that native fish would eat.THAT is why we remove them from American waterways.Bringing non native species to other countries can have deleterious effects which is why England quarantines dogs.
Peoria, Illinois. You can even book a shoot with a local guide/celebrity. Chris Brackett of Brackett Outdoors is still taking people out during the summer.
holy crap are you serious...the ARROW AFFLICTION GUY !!!!!! ..... well that would ruin it for me ... he would get all the fish before i did hahaha ... how much does it cost to book a fishing day with this guy ...
Life gives us lemons sometimes. I make lemonade! It truely is a same that the Illinois river and so many other of the Missisippi's tributaries have been invaded by the Asian Carp ( 4 varieties- only the silver jumps) We can cry about it or learn to use it as a resource.
careful those things can jump in ur boat!!! my grampa had some bass n shiners jump in his boat over the years it was like they were dsaying "here i am eat me!!" looks like fun....
1. I shoot ducks, and dove (both of which are smaller than these fish) with a shotgun, and they are not at all mangled, nor are they blown up, and are comletely edible.(tasty too!)
2. I dont think that they are interested in eating thse fish anyway, im not sure if it was this video or another that I saw, but they were just dumping the fish back into the river.
No, The silver asian carp is an invasive species that is currently being fished heavily , commerially for protein. Only a fishing liscence is required to bowfish them.
Hey, I live in St. Charles MO. -Where is this? I have had carp do this while kayaking the Missouri and Mississippi. -My son and I were shooting some with a 22 from a canoe last summer too.
We were on the Illinois River near Pekin. Don't get caught with a firearm on the river. Bad news, getting caught sooting a rifle over the water. The fish arrows work very well. I have been tempted on many occasions to take after them with a 12 ga., but I don't think that it would be well received by the local authorities.
The silver Asian carp is a filter feeding machine. They are an invasive species, amoung several varieties of Asian carp released into the Missisippi River during floods of the 1990s
As you can see pighunterange, from the rest of the video, It was a target rich environment. I missed 99% of my shots, but we had a great time doing it. Thanks for checking it out.
