She's using the levers on the harp to bring down the tone by a half ... a simple trick actually but done with great skill and feeling. 5 stars for Cheyenne!
Any chance of hearing you play the pedal harp? I don't mean you have to use the pedals on it, I just want to see you using one to play something classical.
Fantastic!! I too am keen to know if this is a dusty strings harp with the 'built-in' pick-up system or somehting else completely - sounds so mellow and beautiful!
I've never heard such thing! Cheyenne you are just the best girl! I watched to your another vid (Jig and two reels) and wow! you have a fabulus playing! So passionate! And that vibrato... breathtaking!
Please girl, we beg you, POST MORE!
Thank you so much for sharing! It's now in the soul!
Hi everyone, thanks so much for your interest!!! This piece is mainly my own improvisation, although there are a few themes from traditional Scottish tunes introduced later on. These tunes are Lady Keith's Lament and John O'Groat's House. Have a look at my website at celloharp (.) com for more info. I hope to do another CD soon with some of these ideas - with dobro, bluegrass fiddle and bass with harp! (the last CD is purely Scottish music.) Thanks so much for listening & commenting! Cheyenne x
Hi Cheyenne! What a surprise! You probably don't remember me. I was a student with Joanna in Anchorage 6 years ago.I had just started playing, (I was one of the, ahem, older ladies!)(I live in Florida now--no more dark and cold) I was at the Fairbanks festival, also. I was just playing around with utube and seeing what was under harp and you appeared. I was impressed with you when you were in high school and now I am totally awed. Hope to see more from you. Kathy Ortiz-Peterson
Cheyenne you are the best! Please share with us what song this is and who wrote this song? We have to know....will be forever in your debt. yours~Christine
Please!!! for the sake of music lovers everywhere...put out a few more CD's. After hearing this I bought your colaboration CD and suggested to all of my friends and associates that they do the same. The work is breathtaking, however we all need more. Your range is on par with the many of the late great jazz musicians of past which is why you should put out some solo material as soon as possible. Time to get into a recording studio Cheyenne. You have arrived.
i have never heard harp played with such expression and depth.your playing, and that instrument are world class...TRAVEL TO IBERIA!!!!....their harp tradition is mind bendingly beautiful....peace and thanks to you
Wow, this was awsome! I liked it alot! Looks kinda hard to play a lever harp though. I personally love pedal harps and I am a pedal harpist, but I love any kind of harp. Anyway, Cheyenne Brown is a very very talented harpist. Whoo! Go Cheyenne

Yes, please give us the name and composer of the piece! You do things on the harp that aren't supposed to be possible. You give "blues harp" a whole new meaning!
Hello zebell33, thanks for your comment! I have played for 10 years. The harp is a Dusty Strings 36. It has nylon strings and levers not blades. It was made in Seattle, Washington.
