Good point! Most antisemitism from Christians throughout history was religious bigotry. But all kinds of different stories were made that blamed Jews for various things. Although when antisemitism started to be about race and genetics it became dangerous and resulted in the Holocaust. That's why everybody is so sensitive about the issue. Much of the antisemtism before 1900 was mostly anti-Judaism and religious bigotry.
Without going into detail: You obviously hold controversy as a high standard. However, I believe controversial people are always the ones making the headlines...however, are they really the ones changing the world for the better???
Ann Coulter said only NON-PRACTICING JEWS need to be perfected - this guy didn't even do his research before speaking about this topic.
She wasn't even speaking about practicing jews at all. She even said that practicing jews go to heaven.
She has never said that the jewish religion is wrong - only that non-practicing jews might as well become christian because it's the "fast-track" but a non-practicing jew that wants to embrace his heritage go right ahead!
I am not the biggest fan of Ann Coulter. I am quite aware that she is a raging neoconservative, and we certainly don't see eye-to-eye on religion or the political-economy.
That having been said, the issue was more with what she said in this particular instance. I would not defend her across the board, but this particular issue was headline news and being mutilated by the MSM.
I rarely defend people. I try sticking with principles and ideas. I hope this clears this up... at least a little.
okay she said " Christians are a sort of perfected jew...we have a sort of express way like Federal Express...and jews have a harder faith to follow...it's easier for christians..." POINT BEING: she Never SAID the quote
I almost agree with everything you said except for the statement that the Christian church has taught for 2000 years what Ann said about Jews.
There are plenty of Christians that believe Jews are just like any other non-believer and will therefore go to Hell. I used to believe that too. Jews don't believe in Jesus and are under the wrath of God. Heck, B. B. Warfield practically felt Arminains were not true Christians. Ann was actually being gracious!
And as an european agnostic I would like to add, that being a religous person in secularized society in a way makes you either bigot or a schizofrenic :-)) "on one level (civic)we are all equal, but on the religious level you are going to hell":-)
you say things that make no sense...who asked you about extra ecclesiam nulla salus? i sure didn't. Talking to you is pointless, because you say things that i've never said.
Trust me, i know your church has doctrines and encyclicals and all types of other writings..she has to, so to keep explaining what the other document didn't say what you thought it said...it's crazy!!! give me the Bible any day! I am done with you, your blinded to truth and i will wipe the dust off my shoes and be done.
You are beyond ignorant. Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus means "Outside the Church is No Salvation." You asked me if the Church taught this doctrine. You're just too lazy to do any real homework. A simple Google search would have shown you what the words meant.
You make charges against our encyclicals. Fine, back it up. Put your money where you oversized mouth is. Otherwise, repent.
We can see through the lies of the RCC's new evangelazation. Lets plant some catholics in protestant bible schools have them become preachers and then have them leave and say they found the true church is the rcc...sorry it won't fly, we have what is called decernment. no true born again Christian would leave Christ for a man in rome that teaches a false gospel and unbiblical doctorine. it will only serve to make us stronger and more equiped in Gods word.
You are a lunatic. I was raised Pentecostal-charismatic. I was a anti-Catholic Calvinist in college. My decision to become a Catholic took over a year, and I thought my wife would leave me. My father vowed not to come to my home! To this day I have strained relations with my family and friends over this issue. My best friend is Antipelagian on YouTube. He is hardcore anti-Catholic. As him yourself. Your conspiracy theory is as lame as it is sad. Even James White wrote about it on A&O!!! Crazy...
raised pentecostal you say? but you sure haven't said you were born again. and maybe you aren't one of the many that are rc spies. so be it, that still doesn't mean they aren't out their. The church of rome has nothing to offer. I have the real presence of Christ for He promised to never leave me nor forsake me. your sir have a factory wafer that remains a factory wafer...sad,sad indeed. God help to draw you to His real presence. in JEsus name, amen
B. Do you have proof of this conspiracy? Show me the papal documents putting this master scheme together. And only original source material will work. I'm a journalist, so being objective is important.
C. You call it a wafer because you don't believe Jesus or the Bible. Simple as that.
one thing i've noticed with people that are lying, they call others names as part of their defense because they really don't have one.
what makes you born again?
I'm not catholic so i don't need any papal documents...i have a my God given intuition and one can see the same identical scripted lines you so called ex protestants use.
My Jesus is the Bread of life..the bread isn't Jesus. there isn't any scriptual foundation for transubstantaion at all! man made idea to rule over people. bondage
Call others names? You have questioned my faith. You have accused me of being part of a Catholic conspiracy. You have called me a liar. And now you get on my case for being sharp towards you? Give me a break.
And I have my God given intuition and he tells me you aren't all together there.
John 6 is so crystal clear that only the blind who rely on Chick Tracts and Left Behind books can't figure it out. Then again, EVERYONE was ignorant until people like you showed up 1,500 years later.
There goes that script again, go figure! I never called you a name i made an observation on the same old scripted lines that rc's use.
your second paragraph in your last post is only part of what i said. but rc's apologist like to take what others say out of context. guess it comes with all the practice you get from twisting the Bible.
Please read John6:34-37 get the full context, okay?
I am very, very familiar with John 6. So were the early Christians who lives with and learned from the apostles... it is amazing how they hold the exact same position we do! Ah, but their having lived and learned with apostles doesn't matter. You and others 2,000 years later know better. Arrogance to the extreme.
The script. You still haven't provided me with a link or book that we are all in cahoots with. Just some lame conspiracy theory out of a Cracker Jack's box.
since when does saying something someone else says and then repeated have to be in a link? all you have to do is listen to Scott Hahn, Jeff Cavin's Gerri Matatics, Bob Sungenis and a host of others and then repeat what they say...it's obvious and it foolish!
You must not be to familar with the John 6 because all you do is quote only one or two verses and leave out the context of the whold chapter.
and you never answered my question, What makes you born again?
A. You keep talking about this conspiracy. You keep talking about some script. Then you resort to calling it nothing more than using similar arguments to those commonly used by other Catholics? hahaha
B. I have listened to one tape by Hahn. I have listened to debates involving Matatics, but only before my conversion. You are presumptuous... unfortunate.
C. It depends on what tradition you're talking about. Are you even aware of the distinctions?
you just don't get it do you? and stop with the circular reasoning...let me put is this way, we non catholics hear the same stories of conversion from you so called ex protestants. what are the odds of that! slim to none. when i watch the journey home i can predict what the guest are going to say...that's pathetic!
no one ever brought water to a priest in the old testatment for the attonment of sins..blood was required. that's why Jesus had to become human, so his blood could be shed.
I heard conversion stories from ex-Catholics (my mother and 9 other members of her immediate family included), but I don't talk about wild conspiracy theories. People convert. They are only more visible as a result of the flow of information through mass mediums. In days gone by, this wouldn't be so.
I'm just quoting Christ on water and Spirit, and Peter on being saved through baptism. Take it up with them, not me.
Have you watched my Protestant sermons or read the Xanga? If not, your lazy.
of course you don't because they are genuine, it's between them and their God...not then and a church. That's the difference/
Believe and then be baptized..believe in Jesus not a church. then be baptized, that's the pattern of everyone that was baptized in the Bible...they believed on Jesus first.
hahaha Ooooooh, so if a Protestant converts to Catholicism, it is part of a world-wide conspiracy, but if a Protestant converts then it is genuine! hahaha
I would discuss infant baptism with you, but I think you are irrational. Frankly, I would have more luck trying to discuss astrophysics with a brick wall than talk doctrine and hermeneutics with you.
they convert to the truth of God and are born of His Spirit...being a member of a church doesn't make you born again...believing in Christ does...the only reason we are called protestants is because be protest against the false teachings of the roman church, she teaches a differnt gospel then that what is in God's Word.
I never, ever, said that being a member of the Catholic Church is what makes you born again.
I am well aware of why Protestants have been identified as Protestant. You act as if what you say is new to me. I preached what you believe! I went to school to master what you believe! I went to school to debate people like Catholics in order to defend what we believe and tear down what they believe. Unless you can give me something new, stop wasting my time.
I never ever said you said that...and by what you said in your last post proves that you weren't protestant because no one goes to school as a protestant to master how to tear down what someone believes..the Bible does that on it's own...it is the only truth..
does not your church teach that there is no salvation outside the RCC? Salavation comes from being born again, born from above through the death and resurection of Christ. You must be born again to enter heaven. take it up with Jesus.
Many people go to school for apologetics. Apologetics is the defense of the faith. Anyone who studies other religions, denominations, or philosophies in order to write about or against them is participating in apologetics. Your ignorance is astounding.
Yes, we teach a doctrine known as Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus. But your knowledge of that doctrine, like everything else your rattled off, is horrific to the point of being embarrassing.
I linked Unam Sanctum. Waiting, but not holding my breath
I am aware that Ann is a protestant. What does that have to do with anything? If her interpretation is correct, it is correct regardless of her being a Protestant.
My Protestant material is online as well. My conversion story is online as well. It was on Xanga. I had over 100 comments. Many glad, many sad, others angry. The fact that my having been a protestant minister is in question is as absurd as it is ignorant. Save some face and do some homework before you make such wild accusations.
if you've been labeled a bigot more times than you can imagine, maybe you should ask yourself if you are? maybe you'll be surprised to see that YOU FUCKING ARE
I don't defend everything she says, but what she said here was nothing more and nothing less than the historical and orthodox Christian position on Christianity being the fulfillment and perfection of religion under the Old Covenant. That was all I defended here.
If you want to redefine words to fit your political agenda, then fine. But don't fool yourself into believing that you are saying much of anything. Words have meaning and we'd be best to stick with them when coming against others.
what you defended here was blatant bigotry and you should be ashamed.
If she wanted to say that her religion was superior she could very easily have said, "christianity is the perfected version of judaism". But she said that Christians are superior to Jews, she was intentionally defining people via their religion and therefore saying that a certain group of people is superior to another. she is far too well educated not to know the difference and far too experienced for it to be just a mistake.
Your bigotry scale is pathetic by the way. what about sexuality and gender? Politics should not be on a scale about bigotry in the first place. So you are 0/1 with religion, 0/2 with sexuality, and you being married to a korean does not discount you from race, if you like ann coulter you most likely hate black people, mexicans and arabs so i'll put ya down as 0.5/3 and i have no idea what your stand on gender is so i'll give it to u, 1.5/4.
I however can say i am proudly 0/4, i have no issues with any religions, races, genders or sexualities. You are pathetic enough to feel that you have a right to tell gay people they are unnatural when they are born that way. I have gay friends, believe me it's not a choice, nobody would ever ever choose that. You can not blame someone for that anymore than you can blame someone for being black. We are ALL equal, you will learn that one day.
if they were born gay then why did God create them not to be able to reproduce with their lover of the same sex? why would a loving God deprive them of that? I'm not talking about a defect like say a heterosexual couple might have..I'm speaking of all gay couples that can't reproduce with the ones they are sexually attracted to.
Are you saying everyone is a bigot? If that's the case then what usefullness does the word bigot have anymore?
I have never known anyone who thinks "intolerance towards various POLITICAL beliefs" is the same, or even similar thing, as bigotry.
Ann Coulter doesn't speak for all Christians. Many would disagree with her. Her comments where her own views. If you don't want to look like an anti-semite don't say Jews should be perfected and then immediately hide behind Christian doctrine.
Are you accusing me of drawing comparisons to the Nazis? If so, then you misunderstood my point. The one to bring Nazis into it was the guy who accused Ann Coulter of greasing the tracks into Auschwitz. But I agree with you. People are too quick to compare those they disagree with Nazis. But just to be clear, I didn't call Leftists Nazis. I said Darwinism gave Hitler the idea for his "Final Solution". Do you see?
You're absolutely right, JACK. Evolution is not evil. I agree 100%. Evil is, as they say, "in the hearts of men". But the question is this: How can a person have an inalienable right to live if his life has no God-given intrinsic value? If we're nothing more than evolved slugs, then killing a human should be no worse than killing a slug. What do you think?
Because to us our higher level of living, thought, emotion, complexity, etc makes us more seem more valuable. It would be like burning a finger painting to kill a slug, but to kill a human is like burning the mona lisa. Human life seems more precious because we are human and we empathize more with the victims than we would with a slug.
I see your point about human life "seeming" more precious and valuable. But the danger is that appearences change. If a leader has the power of life and death over his people he can say group "A" "seems" human so they can live. But group "B" doesn't "seem" human, so off with their heads. Do you see the inherent dangers here?
It's the people's responsibility to check their leaders power, thats the beauty of our system of government (at least for the moment). Even if you factor in god, one cant help but notice that there are people that arent as smart, strong, smart, healthy, etc we are not all equal by any tangible means so believing that we're all equal in gods eyes is comforting. PS thank you for debating this intelligently most people just say "fuck you" and leave rude comments.
Thank you, too, for writing. I'm very impressed, which is exactly why I'm inspired to keep up the exchange. And I know exactly what you mean about a lot of the hostility out there. I appreciate your fine manner. Take care and expect a bit more, more later.
You wrote, "It isn't as though religion has never been misused has it?" This, of course, is absolutely true. But I think many people wrongly believe that religion, through its misuses, causes world strife. And they wrongly conclude that if there were no religions to misuse, the world would be a better place. (A profound misunderstanding of human nature.)
No humans would find another reason to kill each other even if religion vanished. But such is life. I have christian friends i know that religion has just as much potential for good.
It's not religion, it's the people. Christianity teaches that murder is wrong. If Christians would follow this teaching, there would be only wars of defense.
Lol when christians dont like someone they simply change/skirt the "rules" so that they can do what they want (spanish inquisition, albigensian crusade, teutonic crusades, 30 years war). According to st. augustines rules for a just war, it had to be seen as defensive, or so that the alternative would be worse than war (wwii nazis). Almost all of the crusades violated those rules, and besides even a holy warrior was supposed to do penance after killing. So yeah christianity has been twisted.
All of what you say has truth, but the conclusions are false. Yes the pope did try to shut down the inquisition but it was still christians who were comitting the violence (mainly because torquemada was an anti semite)
As for the others, no doubt they started with good intentions but ended up as murder for fun. And the crusades were intended to be "defensive" but one only needs look at a map to see that it didn't end up that way. Christians will fool themselves into believing any war is ok lol.
It's ironic a person with the nickname Jack the Ripper, is criticising Christianity on violence.
Fact is, you don't know the Christian faith. You probably never read these words before:
"[Jesus] said to them, 'But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one'" (Luke 22:36).
The Crusades were a defensive war against muslim invasion.
If an atheist were asked what an ideal America would be (or an ideal world, for that matter), he or she would say that it would be one without any relgious believers at all. This would NOT be condemned as a hateful comment that greases the tracks to Auschwitz. It would be praised as a refreshing breath of enlightened thinking. (What DID "grease" those tracks? Hmmm? Darwinism...the Left's holiest of holies.)
What is it with idiots and having to compare everything to the nazis? Especially when your conservative, who was more far right than der fuerher? The correct thing to do would have been to accuse leftists of being communists but you failed.
Uggh Who would want to defend her anyway? I dont think she said it because she's an anti-semite i think she said it because she cant manage her idiot mouth. If she wants to be a christian great, but it's unamerican to say that it would perfect someone. I was raised catholic and i never thought that it somehow made me superior to jews or whoever else.
As a race or people, no, nobody is superior. As a religion, Catholicism has always believed that Christianity is the fulfillment of the Jewish religion.
True enough, but still the crone intended it to be inflammatory and everyone knows it, thats what she does for a living "stir the shit". Besides christians should be careful with the word "perfect" as they dont think anything worldly is perfect. You obviously have your faith and i respect that, but i dont have to agree. Ann Coulter is everything a real christian isn't, she's a hate mongering wench who has yet to learn humility or attempt to forgive those she hates.
No its simply the truth. And im not a christian so hatred isn't so much of a taboo as it is with christians. And she is an attention whore who'll do anything to be on tv, im just calling it like it is there isn't any malice there.
The truth, Jack, is that she is asked on every show she appears on. She does not seek out these appointments. She draws big crowds for people like Chris Matthews, whom I like, but frankly has a poorly viewed show. Her appearance likely doubles his audience for that day.
Of course they ask her to come on because she says shit in her books, at events, etc that are controversial, she acts outrageous so people will put her on tv so she can voice her bizarre opinions.
I guess I'm old fashioned. What Ann Coulter says now is what everybody said in the 50's and 60's. She hasn't changed from the old standard is what I'm trying to say. People have really changed over the psat 20 years. Ideology is vastly different than it was when I was younger.
Larry, generally you are correct. She does have issues, however. She is the friend of a friend, btw. I think most of what people don't like about her, is rooted in their inability to listen to what she is saying, but instead focusing on her tone of voice.
Which is what I do like about her. She is not servant to political correctness and says what she means and isn't apologetic about it. People are so self-absorbed and since we are in the age of "peoples rights" (the scripture calls it Laodicia), they have nothing but hatred for those they do not understand. I call it 'WIFM' - What's In It For Me syndrom lol. In other words if you aren't liberal (with other people's money) then you aren't accepted. Anne epitomizes conservatism.
I agree with Ann on many of her points. She has some very valid arguments. Liberals have been so busy spending money on godless issues, that they forget the money belongs to other people.
Mathew 28:18 Says just what the-man said! However verse 28:20 goes-on to say "TEACHING THEM TO OBSERVE ALL THINGS WHATSOEVER I-HAVE COMMANDED YOU & I-AM WITH YOU ALWAYS!" Why do they always leave-out verse '20' that says to obey-him when it's so important? Also the rails to Auschwitz were 'GREASED WITH JACOBEAN-ZIONIST FINANCE OF NAZIS' for 15-bloody years & don't forget-it!
Let the fools quibble with which ones toy is more colorful or which noes fairy-tales are better. Not the cup of tea of ther ational mind. Stay around and enjoy the fight.
Impacting cultures, lmao, isn't that a cute term for totalitarianism, oppression and exploitation. You make it sound like Christians went in and had an ice cream social to implement their insanity on nations. I can't disagree more these "claims" have significant anthropological consequences, more than you willing to admit.
The specific issue at hand is the Jews and Christians issue. We were totalitarian over Jews? We oppressed (or at oppressing) them? We are exploiting the Jews? Come now.
Ah, yes, Christianity spreading to countries had horrific results. What cultures did the enlightenment come from? What cultures has science flourished in? Philosophy? How about medicine? What about democracy? To even question the impact Christendom had on these things would be absurd.
The enlightenment came in spite of religious insanity that was so prevalent and fundamental to its doctrines. Philosophy begins where religion ends, and democracy started with the Spartans the first democratic conception. Islam conceived Medicine and its practice when Christianity was still lighting heretics on fire. The greatest impact Christianity had on societies was exterminating already superior and elegant societies.
Philosophy begins where religion ends? You have to be kidding me. Even most atheists would admit the great influence Christians had on Western philosophy.
Yes, Sparta had the first democracy. But I think it safe to say that the later democracies were far superior and that these have flourished in Western nations influenced by Christianity.
I'll ignore that last remark for now. Too busy right now to deal with your diarrhea of the mouth.
Diarrhea of the mouth, lol. I'll have to give you that one; I haven't heard that for decades.
You'll have to give me an example of what democratic society was exclusively created upon the Christian Totalitarianistic philosophy. I will give you partial influence but not exclusivity. I would even give you Hitler since he took the same influence and went insane with it. I think the Lords Resistance Army is the closest you're going to get to an exclusive Judeo-Christian philosophy.
Totalitarianistic philosophy? There is a radical difference between a totalism and totalitarianism. And you'd have to be more specific here. Are we talking politics and economics, or are we talking about normative ethics and culture?
The LRA! haha Wowza. And what do you mean by "exclusive"?
Hitler was lame indeed, giving his catholic background and influence I completely agree. You are getting clearer in your understanding.
I was under the impression we were talking theology and your defense of Ann Coulter's rather psychotic delusions of grandeur. Which you should know include politics, economics, and I'm reluctant to agree "normative" ethics and culture. Certainly nothing normative about our particular circumstance now is there.
Have you read Mien Kampf? I have. Have you read other writings and speeches? I have. The guy believed in Darwinism and used evolution as a backdrop for the hierarchy of the races. He may have quoted Luther's tirade "Against the Jews" on one or more occasions, but to attribute even that to having any sway on his policy is rather absurd.
btw- Even the author of the anti-Catholic tome "Hitler's Pope" has backtracked on his claims after critics responded with books to the contrary.
Hierarchy of races? Like promising a specific tribe a plot of land based upon divine right? Or maybe the notion of the tribulation which accounts for only Christians being swept away to heaven.
The problem with Hitler was not that he used secular ideas inappropriately but that his ideas replicated so much of actual religion and what it means to have religious faith in an idea without evidence.
Hierarchy of races? Was their being given land based upon their race? No. School yourself.
Tribulation theology? Thank God that crap is only 170 years old! And thank God that TT is not an acceptable eschatology among Catholics like me. I am a preterist with an extremely optimistic view of the future and non-Christians.
That is good to hear. I do hope your optimism for the future does not include the end of days. I think its less interesting that TT theology is less than 170 years but that it can be so easily interpreted to come into being in the first place. The entire thing is as relevant to me as Zeus's return to Mt. Olympia. The less serious we take 'holy books' the better off we all are.
Christian politics and economics are totalitarian? Ever read the political writings of Aquinas? What about Robert Sirico? Lewllyn Rockwell? Gary North? Rousas Rushdoony? Pat Buchanan? The day limited government, non-interventionism, and free markets are seen as a recipe for totalitarianism is the day hell freezes over.
I appreciate your referencing documents of extra biblical opinion on the subject but it does not refute the foundational texts for which these authors are trying inadequately to justify. Citing Thomas Aquinas is hardly what I would consider an objective source on the matter. If we are to venture we may as well include the Malleus Maleficarum.
Many of those above derived their political and economic theories from revelation. This is especially true among traditionalist Catholics and Reconstructionists.
Let me guess, an objective source would include only those who deny supernaturalism, inerrancy, and infallibility. Tell me if I'm getting warm.
Thank you for remaining inquisitive and civil; it's a virtuous trait.
I think the word you're looking for is a tautology not totalism. "totalism" I can't say I'm familiar with but you might find it difficult to separate it from the fascist impression it exudes.
The historical Christian worldview is comprehensive in nature. It deals with every area of human existence. On the other hand, what it has to say it not totalitarian in the common understanding of the term. For example, it promotes Just War theory over against imperialism. This means it touches upon the matter, but that what it says results in a rather "hands off" and limited foreign policy. Same with many other areas.
The Christian worldview isn't exactly christian. God as depicted within biblical, quranic literature is explicitly totalitarian. He punishes those who do not follow his tyrannical philosophy and watches over those who would "think" alternatively. Yes, "Thought Crime", your dear leader, as accounted for within scripture is interested in your eternal torture for thinking incorrectly to extend beyond ones own actions.
hahahaha His tyrannical philosophy. Well, from your end of the bargain, I see why you are saying this. The future, were we to be correct, would be rather bleak for you.
Grossly exaggerates? Yeah, all this from a guy who runs a polemic diatribe of Sam Harris fallowed by a man getting his brains blown out. Then not much later references the same material this time with a missile aimed at a crowd of people. Are you trying to be serious or are you just naturally hilarious?
I use that imagery in light of the idea that people will be exterminated for not being able to be reasoned with by atheists. It seemed rather appropriate given the context and content of the segment.
I'd answer the question, but it could only be done in the acknowledgment of your gross charge that the person on the air in this video (this was taken from a radio program) is a moron. That wouldn't be in my self-interest. :)
religion as a mass. Therefore placing an assumtion, or prejudgement, on a group of people..which in this world, called earth, is referred to as prejudice. If you can not understand that then you have underlying faults that need fixing before you can understand anything logical. PS I like how you snuck the word TIT into christian...:)
Give me a break. Christianity, like historical Talmudism, makes exclusive claims. These would include the goy in Talmudism just as much as the Jew in Christianity. It is not a racial remark, it is dealing with a category detailed within a religious worldview. This can be made up of Jew and Goy'im alike. To toss this around as anti-semetic would place the historical Talmudist as anti-everyone not Talmudist. Once again, give me a break.
Comparing one religion to another religion does not justify anything. All it does is point out that more than one religion share the same negative points of view. Backing up something bad and protecting it something else that someone else did bad..is something a child does. And I never studied Talmudism but if they describe a mass as a whole and give them prejudged qualities I have NO problem saying that they are anti everyone. I have no problem saying anything that is true.
Most of the "great religions" are exclusive. They make claims about themselves, their God(s), and their holy books that separate their beliefs and adherents from the rest of the rest... of the human race.
The Talmudist would say the same, and that's fine. They would be denying their religion were they to say otherwise. Same with Christians. To say what she said, what I've said, and what orthodox Talmudists would say is completely consistent with the historical claims of our faith.
That makes no sense. Truth claims (including the one you just posted) are exclusive. Given this, your last remark is just foolish at best, ignorant at worst. Pick one.
You said to say what you say you are consistent with your religion. You have just said that these religions place prejudice on people this is an ignorant act. Just because you can not grasp something does not make that something foolish or ignorant. I know you think I was just being hypocritical but thats because you have a very closed mind. And with a closed mind you can not think of anything that is bigger then the space you provide for thought.
For someone who questions the definition of words, you should know you can not use an item in question (the bible) to define ANY actions taken by christians. Its like using hitlers novel to support his actions..in short...insane! It doesn't matter what WORD she uses to decribe a group of people the reason why she is anti-semetic is because she is addresses EVERY person of that
"Talmudists"? Are you trying to be insulting? Modern Christians don't follow all the tenets of ancient Biblical Christianity, does that mean we should instead refer to them as "Churchists"?
Talmudists is not meant to be insulting. It is meant to be specific. I don't think it is accurate to say that they abide by Torah given the fact that they have so little in common with Torah. The Christian Reconstructionists have more in common with Torah than modern Jews. Jews are Talmudists, pure and simple.
Ancient Biblical Christianity? This is premised on the legitimacy of Sola Scriptura. This argument would work against Protestants who adhere to that heresy, but not Catholics like me.
I cannot think of any state that finances Al Queda because they share the same goals, not since the Taleban were ousted from power. Those good friends of the west, Saudi Arabia finance them but I always thought that was protection money.
Yes , It is indeed the Bible thats says that no one is truely good and can go to heaven with without jesus. If Ann Coulter says that jews are in-perfect or that Only Christians can be good Americans; she is just being a good christain herself, and she is right to say what she does.
guess what, for christians there is only one religion. and no , i dont care if anyone else believes in christ or not. you cant say the same about the sand nigger muslims
You are an ignorant piece of shit and you know perfectly well, somewhere in the recess of your brainwashed psyche, that Christian fundamentalism is potentially as dangerous as Islamic fundamentalism. You are the festering byproduct of a diseased and deformed human construct, and the fact that you even have the audacity to open your mouth is enough to confirm my disdain for the cesspool of ignorance humanity has amounted to. In other words, shut your trap, dick-lick.
point to christian fudamentalist who crashed a plane into a building.another "diverse , multicultural" great argument no where did you respond with facts, another liberal "intellectual"
I said "POTENTIALLY" as dangerous as Islamic fundamentalism. Read more carefully. Quite frankly, I don't put it past Christian fanatics to commit similar acts of violence....if you consult ANY European history book, you will clearly see numerous examples of brutality by the hands of Christian proselytizers. Who could forget the Spanish inquisition? Hmmmm?
hmm "subhuman" where have I heard that being said of people before, it sounds familiar? I think it's connected to that place in the video that I visited during my recent holiday in Krakow.
thats right!! would you like to see my swastika?? i dont know who you are tony but i can say the muslims will give you 2 choices convert or die. i opt for choice 3 exterminate them first. if the dems or repubs arent up to protecting us ....well, sooner or later see who gets a shot!!
You've just proved the point of whoever says fundamental christians can be as dangerous as Al Queda. Anyone who talks of a war on Islam would be dangerous if they had power. Who do the winners get to fight? China?
wrong again tony . i dont want to convert them nor do i care what they do. in fact i would be happy if they left all christian lands. that is the difference . but since they wont leave , then yes kill them before they can kill us . IT IS SELF DEFENSE STUPID
Whatever charm school you went to juggy I'd ask for a refund. I didn't say that you want to convert muslims, just that you want to go to war with us. We are not at war with Islam How many countries support Al Queda?
right back at you for your logic course. oh!! ise the old , bankrupt " its just a few" argument.1) massive immigration into europe where they suck up social welfare money and show their gratitude by gangraping white women. huge demos in which they protest OUR right to free speech etcetc. but no , no muslim country has declared war because they would get smashed but they do finance alqaeda
why dont you guys ever respond QUESTION :: IF THEY KILL US WE ARE ALREADY AT WAR SO WHY NOT KILL THEM??? for once inn your misbegotten brain dead liberal race traitor life ANSWER THE QUESTION????
The most popular books affirming your claim was Hitler's Pope. Since that book was written, many books have been written in reply to the claims made by the author. The author of Hitler's Pope has since changed his position. But those who bought in to such nonsense want to hold on to what has been shown to be nothing short of propaganda.
Hey, buy into the lie, remain aliterate. No hair off my chest.
BS. Hitler was God-fearing? Then why in the world did he send many Christians to concentration camps? Why did he talk about god in the feminine and refer to nature as god in his writings? Why was Himmler's SS dominated by theosophists and Germanic pagans? Why were psychics hold such prominent places? Using the Bible may have been opportunism, but to insist that he was orthodox in any way is pure bs.
Paleocrat: How do you account for Von Papen, and the pictures of Roman Bishops saluting hitler the old Heil way? Please, have a look at Walter Veith, he has made quite a few videos documenting everything, he use quotes from the RCC own books. He just reads it.
why all here talk about holocaust only when it comes to christian antisemitism? is it the shortage of memory, ignorance of history or just sheer hypocrisy? maybe it is the feeling of guilt and a frantic attempt to "atone"? any wise, christianity, catholics and protestants alike, is antisemitic, and as long as there's bible, it shall remain so.
People are blinded to the fact that the RCC is not christian. If you truly go down and investigate, you find the occult. If I offend anyone, forgive me, but I speak of the Papacy, the organisator that has taken the place of Christ our Lord, and scheemed with the worlds leaders to promote their doctrines. No wonder Hitler accepted RCC, they believed the same, and No, Hitler was a paganist.
I am a devout traditionalist Catholic... and I forgive you.
Books like Hitler's Pope have been debunked many times over. Even the author of the book admitted as much. Why can't the protestants and secularists who bought into the propaganda do the same?
Ah well, know that I did not mean to offed you, I was talking of your leaders. It is a known fact, that it was the vatican that enabled Hitler to come to power, that and among others. Richskanceler Von Papen. Please, take a look at the move Total Onslaugh - Catholic Islam connection. Aswell as the movie on google about anti christ. (1h 14m long) Prophecies Unsealed. Take your time to view it and consider the evidence presented.
Know, it is a theory that the Vatican (in Italy) enabled Hitler (in Protestant Germany) to come to power. The best advocate for this theory was the author of Hitler's Pope. As I had said earlier in this comment thread, two books were written which laid the claims in Hitler's Pope to ruin. Even the author of Hitler's Pope admits it!
I don't waste my time with futurist nonsense, whether Dispensational or Adventist.
Paleocrat: Let me ask you, have you read the Bible? Search your doctrine, compare it with the Bible. You will be amazed, at what you will discover. I was. If you truly want to be of God, you owe Him that much, to find out what God demands of you, and take it from the Bible itself. I hope you do this as we do live in critical times, moving towards where we must take a stand.
I have read the Bible from front to back. More than once. Went to two conservative Bible colleges. Went (for a short time) to a protestant seminary for my MA in presuppositional apologetics. I was a youth pastor and an associate pastor. I was a Bible thumping Protestant for 28 years of my life. I debated Catholics, read over 2,000 pages of anti-Catholic propaganda, and watched well over 50 hours of anti-Catholic material. The last thing I am is ignorant...
Paleocrat: Why are you a catholic then? You are aware that the Protestants, Martin Luther, have pinned him, the Pope, as the Anti Christ? And the Pope does not deny, it but teach, that all religions must unite, and worship on sunday, as he the Pope has declared it holy. This is against the teachings of God. It is a matter of authority, who do you serve, God or the Pope.
I've got videos dealing with why I'm Catholic. Ultimately, the Bible and a knowledge of Church history led me to the Church.
Matrin Luther and a handful of fringe group protestant sects believe the Pope is the antichrist. No biggie. I am a preterist.
The Pope doesn't deny it? haha Because he doesn't take you guys serious. This charge from people we consider heretics and schismatic groups we don't recognize as churches. No skin off our backs.
I am a Protestant, I dont think the Pope is the anti-christ, Do I regonise him as the head of the church no, and I do disagree with some catholic doctrines but that does not mean I will say that catholics are not christians and people who say that worry me. I think that it is important to remember that God is the one who descides who really lived their belief.
No, Christianity is NOT anti-semitic. Is it opposed to Talmudism? Yes. Just like it is opposed to Islam, Buddhism, or Wicca.
Jesus killer. Yup. A handful of Jews called for his death. Pilate decreed it. Romans crucified him. And it was for the sins of the world. Oh, and there were Jews at the foot of his cross... and one on it. The story just stinks of antisemitism!! haha
Paleocrat: If the Pope is not the Anti Christ, then do you have a suggestion to who it is that places themselves in Christs place? (Cant be Islam, cause the Pope are friends with them.)
Read up on preterism. It just so happens to be what most of the Church believed prior to the protestant revolution or the heresy of dispensationalism in the 1830's.
Modern Protestant writers such as Kenneth Gentry, Gary DeMar, RC Sproul, and others. A lot of the material can be read as an e-book on freebooks (.com)
Oki, Ill read on it, and you must check out the movies of Walter Veith. I dont think you know for sure who the Vatican is and what they do. You appear to be a God loving man, so I cant not tell you who your leader is.
When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. But, because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. Which of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? He who is of God hears the words of God; the reason why you do not hear them is you are not of God." (John 8:37-39, 44-47, RSV)
You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him.
haha Was he saying the same of those Jews who followed him? What of his apostles? What of his mother? He was speaking to a direct group of people who make a very specific claim.
Furthermore, Paul goes on to say that by nature ALL people are children of the devil.
Your point would be acceptable, if it wasn't wrong.
all the gospels are antisemitic. especially so for the last (known) 3. bible doent specify whether jesus was addressing "a direct group of people" or all THE jews except the disciples (whose number was a drop in the pacific compared to those who rejected jesus). "his blood be upon us and on our children" matthew 27:25. when we say THE french, we mean french people, not 10 a french rock band from leon.
"I know that you are descendants of Abraham; yet you seek to kill me, because my word finds no place in you. I speak of what I have seen with my Father, and you do what you have heard from your father. They answered him, "Abraham is our father." Jesus said to them, "If you were Abraham's children, you would do what Abraham did. ...
The Bible encouraged anti-semitism? haha It was written by Jews!
The Church encouraged anti-semitism? Which ones? The State controlled ones or the ones belonging to pastors and priests who were put in the death camps for refusing to preach Nazi propaganda?
I think you'd be better off pointing your finder at Blavatsky and Darwin. These two, more than any other, fueled the ideology behind the movement.
And what was the religion he infused in them? Well, historians such as William Shirer ("The Rise and Fall of the 3rd Reich") and George Moss ("Nazi Culture") would say that this "religion" was far from Christianity. It resembled early germanic tribal god's, but would infuse Nazi extremism and ideology.
Look up Martin Bomann. One of Hitler's closest accomplices. He has a speech entitled "National Socialism and Christianity are Irreconcilable."
You need to brush up on your Papal history. Even John Cornwell, author of "Hitler's Pope," has admitted that such assertions are nonsense. Pick up Rabbi David Dalin's "The Myth of Hitler's Pope" and even Rychlak's "Hitler, the War, and the Pope." It will spare you the embarrassment of posting such absurd accusations on the world wide web.
Uh, Tim Rutten was exactly right O.o. I'm not saying Ann was a nazi or anything. Far from it I'm sure. But uh...I believe the nazis thought jews were nothing but imperfect christians.
Uh, no. The Nazi's weren't big fans of Christians. Hitler was a pagan. In Mien Kampf he referred to Nature as god and spoke of this god in the feminine tense on a regular basis. The elite in the Nazi party were influenced more by Madame Blavatsky than Aquinas or Calvin. Himmler hired a psychic as one of his top aides. The SS had rituals much like those in ancient pagan religions. On and on and on.

Ann Coulter said only NON-PRACTICING JEWS need to be perfected - this guy didn't even do his research before speaking about this topic.
She wasn't even speaking about practicing jews at all. She even said that practicing jews go to heaven.
She has never said that the jewish religion is wrong - only that non-practicing jews might as well become christian because it's the "fast-track" but a non-practicing jew that wants to embrace his heritage go right ahead!
larrymyclown 2 years ago
I am not the biggest fan of Ann Coulter. I am quite aware that she is a raging neoconservative, and we certainly don't see eye-to-eye on religion or the political-economy.
That having been said, the issue was more with what she said in this particular instance. I would not defend her across the board, but this particular issue was headline news and being mutilated by the MSM.
I rarely defend people. I try sticking with principles and ideas. I hope this clears this up... at least a little.

Ann was actually being gracious!

you say things that make no sense...who asked you about extra ecclesiam nulla salus? i sure didn't. Talking to you is pointless, because you say things that i've never said.
Trust me, i know your church has doctrines and encyclicals and all types of other writings..she has to, so to keep explaining what the other document didn't say what you thought it said...it's crazy!!! give me the Bible any day! I am done with you, your blinded to truth and i will wipe the dust off my shoes and be done.
shanana000 3 years ago
You are beyond ignorant. Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus means "Outside the Church is No Salvation." You asked me if the Church taught this doctrine. You're just too lazy to do any real homework. A simple Google search would have shown you what the words meant.
You make charges against our encyclicals. Fine, back it up. Put your money where you oversized mouth is. Otherwise, repent.
paleocrat 3 years ago
We can see through the lies of the RCC's new evangelazation. Lets plant some catholics in protestant bible schools have them become preachers and then have them leave and say they found the true church is the rcc...sorry it won't fly, we have what is called decernment. no true born again Christian would leave Christ for a man in rome that teaches a false gospel and unbiblical doctorine. it will only serve to make us stronger and more equiped in Gods word.
shanana000 3 years ago
You are a lunatic. I was raised Pentecostal-charismatic. I was a anti-Catholic Calvinist in college. My decision to become a Catholic took over a year, and I thought my wife would leave me. My father vowed not to come to my home! To this day I have strained relations with my family and friends over this issue. My best friend is Antipelagian on YouTube. He is hardcore anti-Catholic. As him yourself. Your conspiracy theory is as lame as it is sad. Even James White wrote about it on A&O!!! Crazy...
paleocrat 3 years ago
raised pentecostal you say? but you sure haven't said you were born again. and maybe you aren't one of the many that are rc spies. so be it, that still doesn't mean they aren't out their. The church of rome has nothing to offer. I have the real presence of Christ for He promised to never leave me nor forsake me. your sir have a factory wafer that remains a factory wafer...sad,sad indeed. God help to draw you to His real presence. in JEsus name, amen
shanana000 3 years ago
You are mentally disturbed.
A. Yes, I was and continue to be born again.
B. Do you have proof of this conspiracy? Show me the papal documents putting this master scheme together. And only original source material will work. I'm a journalist, so being objective is important.
C. You call it a wafer because you don't believe Jesus or the Bible. Simple as that.
paleocrat 3 years ago
one thing i've noticed with people that are lying, they call others names as part of their defense because they really don't have one.
what makes you born again?
I'm not catholic so i don't need any papal documents...i have a my God given intuition and one can see the same identical scripted lines you so called ex protestants use.
My Jesus is the Bread of life..the bread isn't Jesus. there isn't any scriptual foundation for transubstantaion at all! man made idea to rule over people. bondage
shanana000 3 years ago
Call others names? You have questioned my faith. You have accused me of being part of a Catholic conspiracy. You have called me a liar. And now you get on my case for being sharp towards you? Give me a break.
And I have my God given intuition and he tells me you aren't all together there.
John 6 is so crystal clear that only the blind who rely on Chick Tracts and Left Behind books can't figure it out. Then again, EVERYONE was ignorant until people like you showed up 1,500 years later.
paleocrat 3 years ago
There goes that script again, go figure! I never called you a name i made an observation on the same old scripted lines that rc's use.
your second paragraph in your last post is only part of what i said. but rc's apologist like to take what others say out of context. guess it comes with all the practice you get from twisting the Bible.
Please read John6:34-37 get the full context, okay?
shanana000 3 years ago
I am very, very familiar with John 6. So were the early Christians who lives with and learned from the apostles... it is amazing how they hold the exact same position we do! Ah, but their having lived and learned with apostles doesn't matter. You and others 2,000 years later know better. Arrogance to the extreme.
The script. You still haven't provided me with a link or book that we are all in cahoots with. Just some lame conspiracy theory out of a Cracker Jack's box.
paleocrat 3 years ago
since when does saying something someone else says and then repeated have to be in a link? all you have to do is listen to Scott Hahn, Jeff Cavin's Gerri Matatics, Bob Sungenis and a host of others and then repeat what they say...it's obvious and it foolish!
You must not be to familar with the John 6 because all you do is quote only one or two verses and leave out the context of the whold chapter.
and you never answered my question, What makes you born again?
What is oral tradition to you?
shanana000 3 years ago
D. Water and spirit: Baptism and regeneration.
paleocrat 3 years ago
you just don't get it do you? and stop with the circular reasoning...let me put is this way, we non catholics hear the same stories of conversion from you so called ex protestants. what are the odds of that! slim to none. when i watch the journey home i can predict what the guest are going to say...that's pathetic!
no one ever brought water to a priest in the old testatment for the attonment of sins..blood was required. that's why Jesus had to become human, so his blood could be shed.
shanana000 3 years ago
I heard conversion stories from ex-Catholics (my mother and 9 other members of her immediate family included), but I don't talk about wild conspiracy theories. People convert. They are only more visible as a result of the flow of information through mass mediums. In days gone by, this wouldn't be so.
I'm just quoting Christ on water and Spirit, and Peter on being saved through baptism. Take it up with them, not me.
Have you watched my Protestant sermons or read the Xanga? If not, your lazy.
paleocrat 3 years ago
of course you don't because they are genuine, it's between them and their God...not then and a church. That's the difference/
Believe and then be baptized..believe in Jesus not a church. then be baptized, that's the pattern of everyone that was baptized in the Bible...they believed on Jesus first.
shanana000 3 years ago
hahaha Ooooooh, so if a Protestant converts to Catholicism, it is part of a world-wide conspiracy, but if a Protestant converts then it is genuine! hahaha
I would discuss infant baptism with you, but I think you are irrational. Frankly, I would have more luck trying to discuss astrophysics with a brick wall than talk doctrine and hermeneutics with you.
paleocrat 3 years ago
they convert to the truth of God and are born of His Spirit...being a member of a church doesn't make you born again...believing in Christ does...the only reason we are called protestants is because be protest against the false teachings of the roman church, she teaches a differnt gospel then that what is in God's Word.
shanana000 3 years ago
I never, ever, said that being a member of the Catholic Church is what makes you born again.
I am well aware of why Protestants have been identified as Protestant. You act as if what you say is new to me. I preached what you believe! I went to school to master what you believe! I went to school to debate people like Catholics in order to defend what we believe and tear down what they believe. Unless you can give me something new, stop wasting my time.
paleocrat 3 years ago
I never ever said you said that...and by what you said in your last post proves that you weren't protestant because no one goes to school as a protestant to master how to tear down what someone believes..the Bible does that on it's own...it is the only truth..
does not your church teach that there is no salvation outside the RCC? Salavation comes from being born again, born from above through the death and resurection of Christ. You must be born again to enter heaven. take it up with Jesus.
shanana000 3 years ago
Many people go to school for apologetics. Apologetics is the defense of the faith. Anyone who studies other religions, denominations, or philosophies in order to write about or against them is participating in apologetics. Your ignorance is astounding.
Yes, we teach a doctrine known as Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus. But your knowledge of that doctrine, like everything else your rattled off, is horrific to the point of being embarrassing.
I linked Unam Sanctum. Waiting, but not holding my breath
paleocrat 3 years ago
hey ex protestant man...And Coulter is a born again Christian, she's protestant.
shanana000 3 years ago
I am aware that Ann is a protestant. What does that have to do with anything? If her interpretation is correct, it is correct regardless of her being a Protestant.
My Protestant material is online as well. My conversion story is online as well. It was on Xanga. I had over 100 comments. Many glad, many sad, others angry. The fact that my having been a protestant minister is in question is as absurd as it is ignorant. Save some face and do some homework before you make such wild accusations.
paleocrat 3 years ago
if you've been labeled a bigot more times than you can imagine, maybe you should ask yourself if you are? maybe you'll be surprised to see that YOU FUCKING ARE
brittyboy3 4 years ago
By definition, I am not any more of a bigot than most every other human being.
We all have a level of intolerance towards various political beliefs.
Unless you are a religious relativist in the most extreme sense, then there is a level of intolerance towards another person's religious views.
As for race, I'm married to a Korean. This would disqualify me from both racial separatism and supremacy.
Most people would be 2/3 a bigot, by definition. Unless you redefine bigotry for convenience.
paleocrat 4 years ago
i would consider anyone who would ever defend a word out of this womans mouth a bigot
brittyboy3 4 years ago
I don't defend everything she says, but what she said here was nothing more and nothing less than the historical and orthodox Christian position on Christianity being the fulfillment and perfection of religion under the Old Covenant. That was all I defended here.
If you want to redefine words to fit your political agenda, then fine. But don't fool yourself into believing that you are saying much of anything. Words have meaning and we'd be best to stick with them when coming against others.
paleocrat 4 years ago
what you defended here was blatant bigotry and you should be ashamed.
If she wanted to say that her religion was superior she could very easily have said, "christianity is the perfected version of judaism". But she said that Christians are superior to Jews, she was intentionally defining people via their religion and therefore saying that a certain group of people is superior to another. she is far too well educated not to know the difference and far too experienced for it to be just a mistake.
brittyboy3 4 years ago
Your bigotry scale is pathetic by the way. what about sexuality and gender? Politics should not be on a scale about bigotry in the first place. So you are 0/1 with religion, 0/2 with sexuality, and you being married to a korean does not discount you from race, if you like ann coulter you most likely hate black people, mexicans and arabs so i'll put ya down as 0.5/3 and i have no idea what your stand on gender is so i'll give it to u, 1.5/4.
brittyboy3 4 years ago
I however can say i am proudly 0/4, i have no issues with any religions, races, genders or sexualities. You are pathetic enough to feel that you have a right to tell gay people they are unnatural when they are born that way. I have gay friends, believe me it's not a choice, nobody would ever ever choose that. You can not blame someone for that anymore than you can blame someone for being black. We are ALL equal, you will learn that one day.
brittyboy3 4 years ago
if they were born gay then why did God create them not to be able to reproduce with their lover of the same sex? why would a loving God deprive them of that? I'm not talking about a defect like say a heterosexual couple might have..I'm speaking of all gay couples that can't reproduce with the ones they are sexually attracted to.
shanana000 3 years ago
why would they choose to be gay and live lives where they have to deal with bigots like you? by the way, there is no god
brittyboy3 3 years ago
Are you saying everyone is a bigot? If that's the case then what usefullness does the word bigot have anymore?
I have never known anyone who thinks "intolerance towards various POLITICAL beliefs" is the same, or even similar thing, as bigotry.
Ann Coulter doesn't speak for all Christians. Many would disagree with her. Her comments where her own views. If you don't want to look like an anti-semite don't say Jews should be perfected and then immediately hide behind Christian doctrine.
smellarm 4 years ago
Hi Jack,
Are you accusing me of drawing comparisons to the Nazis? If so, then you misunderstood my point. The one to bring Nazis into it was the guy who accused Ann Coulter of greasing the tracks into Auschwitz. But I agree with you. People are too quick to compare those they disagree with Nazis. But just to be clear, I didn't call Leftists Nazis. I said Darwinism gave Hitler the idea for his "Final Solution". Do you see?
stuntbaby63 4 years ago
Alright then we're cool. And just because evolution was misused doesn't make it evil. It isn't as though religion has never been misused has it?
JACKtheRIPP3R189 4 years ago
You're absolutely right, JACK. Evolution is not evil. I agree 100%. Evil is, as they say, "in the hearts of men". But the question is this: How can a person have an inalienable right to live if his life has no God-given intrinsic value? If we're nothing more than evolved slugs, then killing a human should be no worse than killing a slug. What do you think?
stuntbaby63 4 years ago
Because to us our higher level of living, thought, emotion, complexity, etc makes us more seem more valuable. It would be like burning a finger painting to kill a slug, but to kill a human is like burning the mona lisa. Human life seems more precious because we are human and we empathize more with the victims than we would with a slug.
JACKtheRIPP3R189 4 years ago
Hi Jack!,
I see your point about human life "seeming" more precious and valuable. But the danger is that appearences change. If a leader has the power of life and death over his people he can say group "A" "seems" human so they can live. But group "B" doesn't "seem" human, so off with their heads. Do you see the inherent dangers here?
stuntbaby63 4 years ago
It's the people's responsibility to check their leaders power, thats the beauty of our system of government (at least for the moment). Even if you factor in god, one cant help but notice that there are people that arent as smart, strong, smart, healthy, etc we are not all equal by any tangible means so believing that we're all equal in gods eyes is comforting. PS thank you for debating this intelligently most people just say "fuck you" and leave rude comments.
JACKtheRIPP3R189 4 years ago
Hey JACK,
Thank you, too, for writing. I'm very impressed, which is exactly why I'm inspired to keep up the exchange. And I know exactly what you mean about a lot of the hostility out there. I appreciate your fine manner. Take care and expect a bit more, more later.
stuntbaby63 4 years ago
Hello there, JACK!
You wrote, "It isn't as though religion has never been misused has it?" This, of course, is absolutely true. But I think many people wrongly believe that religion, through its misuses, causes world strife. And they wrongly conclude that if there were no religions to misuse, the world would be a better place. (A profound misunderstanding of human nature.)
stuntbaby63 4 years ago
No humans would find another reason to kill each other even if religion vanished. But such is life. I have christian friends i know that religion has just as much potential for good.
JACKtheRIPP3R189 4 years ago
It's not religion, it's the people. Christianity teaches that murder is wrong. If Christians would follow this teaching, there would be only wars of defense.
redeemerslove 4 years ago
Lol when christians dont like someone they simply change/skirt the "rules" so that they can do what they want (spanish inquisition, albigensian crusade, teutonic crusades, 30 years war). According to st. augustines rules for a just war, it had to be seen as defensive, or so that the alternative would be worse than war (wwii nazis). Almost all of the crusades violated those rules, and besides even a holy warrior was supposed to do penance after killing. So yeah christianity has been twisted.
JACKtheRIPP3R189 4 years ago
What really happened:
Spanish Inquisition: Once Pope Sixtus IV found out about the abuses, he removed the Spanish Crown's Inquisition authority.
Albigensian Crusade: The Albigensians were killing local officials and plotted to kill the king of France.
Teutonic Crusades: The German knights were fighting to defend their property rights (also see below).
30 Years War: Protestants started it. Their fault.
The Crusades: A push-back agains muslim invasion.

JACKtheRIPP3R189 4 years ago

JACKtheRIPP3R189 4 years ago
Uggh Who would want to defend her anyway? I dont think she said it because she's an anti-semite i think she said it because she cant manage her idiot mouth. If she wants to be a christian great, but it's unamerican to say that it would perfect someone. I was raised catholic and i never thought that it somehow made me superior to jews or whoever else.
JACKtheRIPP3R189 4 years ago
As a race or people, no, nobody is superior. As a religion, Catholicism has always believed that Christianity is the fulfillment of the Jewish religion.
paleocrat 4 years ago
True enough, but still the crone intended it to be inflammatory and everyone knows it, thats what she does for a living "stir the shit". Besides christians should be careful with the word "perfect" as they dont think anything worldly is perfect. You obviously have your faith and i respect that, but i dont have to agree. Ann Coulter is everything a real christian isn't, she's a hate mongering wench who has yet to learn humility or attempt to forgive those she hates.
JACKtheRIPP3R189 4 years ago
You calling her a wench isn't hate?
larry1961 4 years ago
No its simply the truth. And im not a christian so hatred isn't so much of a taboo as it is with christians. And she is an attention whore who'll do anything to be on tv, im just calling it like it is there isn't any malice there.
JACKtheRIPP3R189 4 years ago
The truth, Jack, is that she is asked on every show she appears on. She does not seek out these appointments. She draws big crowds for people like Chris Matthews, whom I like, but frankly has a poorly viewed show. Her appearance likely doubles his audience for that day.
larry1961 4 years ago
Of course they ask her to come on because she says shit in her books, at events, etc that are controversial, she acts outrageous so people will put her on tv so she can voice her bizarre opinions.
JACKtheRIPP3R189 4 years ago
I guess I'm old fashioned. What Ann Coulter says now is what everybody said in the 50's and 60's. She hasn't changed from the old standard is what I'm trying to say. People have really changed over the psat 20 years. Ideology is vastly different than it was when I was younger.
larry1961 4 years ago
I've never heard Ann Coulter attack people on the basis of race or gender. Nice try.

larry1961 4 years ago
Larry, generally you are correct. She does have issues, however. She is the friend of a friend, btw. I think most of what people don't like about her, is rooted in their inability to listen to what she is saying, but instead focusing on her tone of voice.
redeemerslove 4 years ago
Which is what I do like about her. She is not servant to political correctness and says what she means and isn't apologetic about it. People are so self-absorbed and since we are in the age of "peoples rights" (the scripture calls it Laodicia), they have nothing but hatred for those they do not understand. I call it 'WIFM' - What's In It For Me syndrom lol. In other words if you aren't liberal (with other people's money) then you aren't accepted. Anne epitomizes conservatism.
larry1961 4 years ago

Impacting cultures, lmao, isn't that a cute term for totalitarianism, oppression and exploitation. You make it sound like Christians went in and had an ice cream social to implement their insanity on nations. I can't disagree more these "claims" have significant anthropological consequences, more than you willing to admit.
TarchangelT 4 years ago
The specific issue at hand is the Jews and Christians issue. We were totalitarian over Jews? We oppressed (or at oppressing) them? We are exploiting the Jews? Come now.
Ah, yes, Christianity spreading to countries had horrific results. What cultures did the enlightenment come from? What cultures has science flourished in? Philosophy? How about medicine? What about democracy? To even question the impact Christendom had on these things would be absurd.
paleocrat 4 years ago
The enlightenment came in spite of religious insanity that was so prevalent and fundamental to its doctrines. Philosophy begins where religion ends, and democracy started with the Spartans the first democratic conception. Islam conceived Medicine and its practice when Christianity was still lighting heretics on fire. The greatest impact Christianity had on societies was exterminating already superior and elegant societies.
TarchangelT 4 years ago
Philosophy begins where religion ends? You have to be kidding me. Even most atheists would admit the great influence Christians had on Western philosophy.
Yes, Sparta had the first democracy. But I think it safe to say that the later democracies were far superior and that these have flourished in Western nations influenced by Christianity.
I'll ignore that last remark for now. Too busy right now to deal with your diarrhea of the mouth.
paleocrat 4 years ago
too busy to deal with the facts I understand, usual response.
TarchangelT 4 years ago
Diarrhea of the mouth, lol. I'll have to give you that one; I haven't heard that for decades.
You'll have to give me an example of what democratic society was exclusively created upon the Christian Totalitarianistic philosophy. I will give you partial influence but not exclusivity. I would even give you Hitler since he took the same influence and went insane with it. I think the Lords Resistance Army is the closest you're going to get to an exclusive Judeo-Christian philosophy.
TarchangelT 4 years ago
Totalitarianistic philosophy? There is a radical difference between a totalism and totalitarianism. And you'd have to be more specific here. Are we talking politics and economics, or are we talking about normative ethics and culture?
The LRA! haha Wowza. And what do you mean by "exclusive"?
Hitler? Common... but lame.
paleocrat 4 years ago
Hitler was lame indeed, giving his catholic background and influence I completely agree. You are getting clearer in your understanding.
I was under the impression we were talking theology and your defense of Ann Coulter's rather psychotic delusions of grandeur. Which you should know include politics, economics, and I'm reluctant to agree "normative" ethics and culture. Certainly nothing normative about our particular circumstance now is there.
TarchangelT 4 years ago
Have you read Mien Kampf? I have. Have you read other writings and speeches? I have. The guy believed in Darwinism and used evolution as a backdrop for the hierarchy of the races. He may have quoted Luther's tirade "Against the Jews" on one or more occasions, but to attribute even that to having any sway on his policy is rather absurd.
btw- Even the author of the anti-Catholic tome "Hitler's Pope" has backtracked on his claims after critics responded with books to the contrary.
paleocrat 4 years ago
Hierarchy of races? Like promising a specific tribe a plot of land based upon divine right? Or maybe the notion of the tribulation which accounts for only Christians being swept away to heaven.
The problem with Hitler was not that he used secular ideas inappropriately but that his ideas replicated so much of actual religion and what it means to have religious faith in an idea without evidence.
TarchangelT 4 years ago
Hierarchy of races? Was their being given land based upon their race? No. School yourself.
Tribulation theology? Thank God that crap is only 170 years old! And thank God that TT is not an acceptable eschatology among Catholics like me. I am a preterist with an extremely optimistic view of the future and non-Christians.
Hitler was a pagan fideist. I am neither one.
paleocrat 4 years ago
That is good to hear. I do hope your optimism for the future does not include the end of days. I think its less interesting that TT theology is less than 170 years but that it can be so easily interpreted to come into being in the first place. The entire thing is as relevant to me as Zeus's return to Mt. Olympia. The less serious we take 'holy books' the better off we all are.
TarchangelT 4 years ago
Christian politics and economics are totalitarian? Ever read the political writings of Aquinas? What about Robert Sirico? Lewllyn Rockwell? Gary North? Rousas Rushdoony? Pat Buchanan? The day limited government, non-interventionism, and free markets are seen as a recipe for totalitarianism is the day hell freezes over.
paleocrat 4 years ago
I appreciate your referencing documents of extra biblical opinion on the subject but it does not refute the foundational texts for which these authors are trying inadequately to justify. Citing Thomas Aquinas is hardly what I would consider an objective source on the matter. If we are to venture we may as well include the Malleus Maleficarum.

TarchangelT 4 years ago
Many of those above derived their political and economic theories from revelation. This is especially true among traditionalist Catholics and Reconstructionists.
Let me guess, an objective source would include only those who deny supernaturalism, inerrancy, and infallibility. Tell me if I'm getting warm.
PS- I don't adhere to Sola Scriptura.
paleocrat 4 years ago
Thank you for remaining inquisitive and civil; it's a virtuous trait.
I think the word you're looking for is a tautology not totalism. "totalism" I can't say I'm familiar with but you might find it difficult to separate it from the fascist impression it exudes.
TarchangelT 4 years ago
The historical Christian worldview is comprehensive in nature. It deals with every area of human existence. On the other hand, what it has to say it not totalitarian in the common understanding of the term. For example, it promotes Just War theory over against imperialism. This means it touches upon the matter, but that what it says results in a rather "hands off" and limited foreign policy. Same with many other areas.
Andrew Sandlin wrote a book called Totalism.
paleocrat 4 years ago
The Christian worldview isn't exactly christian. God as depicted within biblical, quranic literature is explicitly totalitarian. He punishes those who do not follow his tyrannical philosophy and watches over those who would "think" alternatively. Yes, "Thought Crime", your dear leader, as accounted for within scripture is interested in your eternal torture for thinking incorrectly to extend beyond ones own actions.

religion as a mass. Therefore placing an assumtion, or prejudgement, on a group of people..which in this world, called earth, is referred to as prejudice. If you can not understand that then you have underlying faults that need fixing before you can understand anything logical. PS I like how you snuck the word TIT into christian...:)
despeanut86 4 years ago
Give me a break. Christianity, like historical Talmudism, makes exclusive claims. These would include the goy in Talmudism just as much as the Jew in Christianity. It is not a racial remark, it is dealing with a category detailed within a religious worldview. This can be made up of Jew and Goy'im alike. To toss this around as anti-semetic would place the historical Talmudist as anti-everyone not Talmudist. Once again, give me a break.
paleocrat 4 years ago
Comparing one religion to another religion does not justify anything. All it does is point out that more than one religion share the same negative points of view. Backing up something bad and protecting it something else that someone else did bad..is something a child does. And I never studied Talmudism but if they describe a mass as a whole and give them prejudged qualities I have NO problem saying that they are anti everyone. I have no problem saying anything that is true.
despeanut86 4 years ago
Most of the "great religions" are exclusive. They make claims about themselves, their God(s), and their holy books that separate their beliefs and adherents from the rest of the rest... of the human race.
The Talmudist would say the same, and that's fine. They would be denying their religion were they to say otherwise. Same with Christians. To say what she said, what I've said, and what orthodox Talmudists would say is completely consistent with the historical claims of our faith.
paleocrat 4 years ago
And that makes your opinions wrong. Thank you.
despeanut86 4 years ago
That makes no sense. Truth claims (including the one you just posted) are exclusive. Given this, your last remark is just foolish at best, ignorant at worst. Pick one.
paleocrat 4 years ago
You said to say what you say you are consistent with your religion. You have just said that these religions place prejudice on people this is an ignorant act. Just because you can not grasp something does not make that something foolish or ignorant. I know you think I was just being hypocritical but thats because you have a very closed mind. And with a closed mind you can not think of anything that is bigger then the space you provide for thought.
despeanut86 4 years ago
For someone who questions the definition of words, you should know you can not use an item in question (the bible) to define ANY actions taken by christians. Its like using hitlers novel to support his actions..in short...insane! It doesn't matter what WORD she uses to decribe a group of people the reason why she is anti-semetic is because she is addresses EVERY person of that
despeanut86 4 years ago
"Talmudists"? Are you trying to be insulting? Modern Christians don't follow all the tenets of ancient Biblical Christianity, does that mean we should instead refer to them as "Churchists"?
DCG1018 4 years ago
Talmudists is not meant to be insulting. It is meant to be specific. I don't think it is accurate to say that they abide by Torah given the fact that they have so little in common with Torah. The Christian Reconstructionists have more in common with Torah than modern Jews. Jews are Talmudists, pure and simple.
Ancient Biblical Christianity? This is premised on the legitimacy of Sola Scriptura. This argument would work against Protestants who adhere to that heresy, but not Catholics like me.

It is rather simple:

Know, it is a theory that the Vatican (in Italy) enabled Hitler (in Protestant Germany) to come to power. The best advocate for this theory was the author of Hitler's Pope. The Church encouraged anti-semitism? Which ones? The State controlled ones or the ones belonging to pastors and priests who were put in the death camps for refusing to preach Nazi propaganda?

And what was the religion he infused in them? Well, historians such as William Shirer ("The Rise and Fall of the 3rd Reich") and George Moss ("Nazi Culture") would say that this "religion" was far from Christianity. The elite in the Nazi party were influenced more by Madame Blavatsky than Aquinas or Calvin. Himmler hired a psychic as one of his top aides. The SS had rituals much like those in ancient pagan religions. On and on and on.
