The best example i can think of was Jimmy Hendrix. He was so good on the guitar that he could make it sound like it was talking (fact). Te reason I posted the 1st comment is that I found it a little ironic that this vid was called "the best part" of his '99 DMC set when all it consists of is craze dragging himslef across a prerecorded scratch.

As 'HanzoHK' and 'djindoe' have pointed out, it won the crowd and that seems to matter a lot in winning the comp, afterall DMC is a lot about showmanship. Just look at DJ DAVID's 1991 set, I reckon Qbert would have eaten him alive had it not been for the handspin @ the end!
