  • the prophesy fortold dubstep

  • Omg he was a wizard!

  • Rap music is just people advertising themselves. Hilarious pictures by the way. Jim is awesome.

  • today's music is total garbage...

  • He was talking about Deadmau5 :)

  • No people. Jim was talking about MUSIC!

  • Those who say rap sucks or Eminem sucks didn't listen to Lose Yourself, Toy Soldiers, Stan, White America etc. apparently. As Eminem sure as hell doesn't suck and his shit is as legit as anybody else's from 50s, 60s or whatever era

  • @lkrnpk Wow, that is the most stupidest thing I have ever seen written, period.

  • Could he have been anymore correct?

  • eminem is a douche

  • Eminem's rap is cool. Tho I don't like other nig raps...

  • @CivilisedHumanity Your gay because eminem sounds like a faggot, and he sold out like a little bitch............ Mos Def? Nas? Rakim?......And you think eminem feat drake/lil wayne/rihanna/ is the least bit good?...Sell out bitch...... You deserve to get curb stomped. Watch what you say,and how you talk my friend because your headin in the direction of a major Richmond Va head caving......

  • @StanoSesh Who cares about EMINEM - listen to the DOORS

I'm not dissing EMINEM btw, the guy is a hardworking genius, but the DOORS will be remembered forever...

  • Come on people the whole music industry from blues great of the late 1800's early 1900's through now all genes of music except for gospel is built on rebellion agaist society. Think about it.

  • A fucking visionary!

  • I should say inferring.

  • He's referring to the modern day DJ/Producer, not talent-less mutilators of poetry and spoken word.

  • He predicted the 80s. And the rock of the 80s.

  • Sounds like he's predicting the modern DJ

  • today music comes from people who only gives matter to money, fame, etc... i mean money is important but if ur music is bassed at this, then is shit... fame is important but only to transmite ur feelings, express urself and count ur "history" to the masses not to brag that u're know and make grow ur ego... today most people don't know anyting 'bout talent, they think that a guy that mix music is a better musician than a one that does... i'm 17 but i know what i wanna be!

    ...GRANDE JIM!

  • The 80s ruined music

  • like if skrillex brought u here

  • @2811levy who's skrillex?

  • 1:16 MUTE!!!! MUTE!!! MUTE!

  • @RickyRocker821 , hahahaha !

  • He was pretty close.

  • I think he isn't talking about Hip Hop but DJ's

  • most of you don't realize electronic dance music is definitely not limited to just dubstep....there are many other sub genres that are much, much more popular and have roots in the 90's. Daft punk, Cassius anyone? Music is always changing; always evolving. It's a good thing. This is coming from a fan of Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, Luciano Pavarotti, The Beatles, Queen, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Notorious BIG, Daft Punk, Deadmau5, Skrillex, Headhunterz, MGMT....the list goes on. I love music.

  • Skrillex used this on his song "Breakn' a Sweat"...js.

  • @27Tyrrell <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< yeah, thats why I searched Jim Morrison's prediction of future music and got this vid. haha The power of the internet...

  • he's certainly right...this video maker has limited the definition of his prediction...limited art is never healthy. there's so much more to anything the doors put out than a large percentage of what was highlighted in the real. That being said, creativity is certainly brought by all parties. He meant bassnectar and Marshal Mathers, he meant Lil Wayne and that kid down the road you dont know dropping a beat on loop for the open mic night crowd.

  • the white rapper ruined the whole vid!!!!

  • Pretty spot on. Cluey guy.

  • If only he had predicted Justin Bieber then we could have all made sure that would have NEVER happened!

  • He predicted Dubstep. :O

  • Jim is lucky he didn't live to see and hear the shit that's around today like Kanye West and Jay Z.

  • @anthonypepitoneVideo Jay-Z is good. Reasonable Doubt is a great album. Not all hip-hop is bad. There is good hip-hop and bad just like there is good and bad stuff in any other genre of music. You classic rock people make me laugh with your close mindedness.

  • @Stuff73813 I'm not a "classic rock person" - I like a wide range of music but rap is not music - rap is crap. Imbeciles with a microphone and a big mouth and big ego and no brains and the only talent they have is the ability to show off their lack of talent.

  • @anthonypepitoneVideo You're very angry aren't you? As superior as the old school SINGERS were compared to today's garbage SINGERS - let's be honest - they'd get shredded by a true mc if it came down to writing a verse with descriptive, relevant, intelligence. Though you could be referring to the radio candy pop "rappers". Hopefully that's what you meant, if it is then yes I'd agree with you - if not, check out Diabolic's Modern Day Future & the likes of him & see if you still feel that way :)

  • @accradata wrong, you lack the intelligence to find insight into the true meaning of a lot of older lyrics. They're deeply rooted in philosophy and psychoanalysis -- not insulting each other's mommas

  • @SpunkySkunk347 OOOOHHH!!! Wow!! Like I said - you're very angry about it aren't you? Instead of being an adult about it and listening to my attempt at being friendly rather than writing you off as the closed-minded goose you have proved yourself to be - you tried to make it personal.. Shame. I hope I can still sleep tonight knowing what a keyboard-warrior beating you have given me!!

  • @accradata are you sure you're replying to the right person dipshit?

  • @SpunkySkunk347 Soooooo tough!!! Why would I all of the sudden reply to the wrong person? You made a comment with obviously no idea what you were talking about, to which I made a friendly attempt to open your eyes and encourage you to keep an open mind by suggesting an artist who doesn't "insult anyone's momma" and has some real substance to his hip hop. Dipshit?? Lol. Honestly mate - only a true moron would try and act tough to a computer screen..

  • @accradata Who the fuck is acting tough? Have you ever heard of psychological projection? Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Tool's lyrics have far more sustenance than any rapper or hip hop artist has ever had

  • @anthonypepitoneVideo Dude, Kanye I can understand, but not JayZ. Just because he's the most popular musician in the world right now doesn't mean he's bad.

Honestly, I think Jim would have liked JayZ, Biggie, The Fugees, A Tribe Called Quest, all the decent rap musicians who've been around for so long.

They sure have a lot more creativity than you, talking shit about music you've probably never even listened to.

  • @anthonypepitoneVideo AMEN!!! Total shit music!!

  • I think that he probably predicted what Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails were doing along with others since the early nineties which was making music with electronics (computers, synths, etc) all by themselves. I do NOT think he was predicting hip hop music since that started without a lot of additional machines and was primarily multiple musicians using their mouths or beats playing behind their raps. He plainly was talking about someone being able to make music by themselves with machines.

  • @Simians84 uggh....please dont mention trent reznor!!.....NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS OR ANYTHING!!

  • Big surprise, Jim was a visionary. Jim was 'rapping' on Lizard and Big Beat and many others. He was a poet, first, which is what hip-hop is all about. The only difference is Jim didn't have the big Dr. Dre beats behind his words. It won't be long, though, before somebody samples his voice with some heavy duty beats. A beat poet is the same now and just as relevant as they've ever been. He loved black music as a whole, and was way ahead of the curve.

  • @spacemonkey1463 Chase and Status already have used his voice in a song.

  • yeah Jim was right by a mile. electronica and such WAS right around the corner-but no-one said anything about it except Jim. As a result, most of todays music sucks balls.

  • this guy couldnt have predicted where he was going to wake up the next day

  • I think he was talking about... KT Tunstall

  • Anyone else crank their speakers at 5:16 am so they could here Jim Morrison only to have E-Minum wake up everyone which was your soul mission throughout the night???

  • I don't think he was talking about rap...

  • haha he just described rap XD

  • no fucking shit jimmy boy???? hes absofuckinglutely 200 percent right.

  • Shows the difference between good music and 99% of current music......and im 18......my generations music blows

  • Look at the old fucks in here that cant stand that music changed. get over it, you might even like some of it.

  • He was right. But it's too bad music went in that direction.

  • Yes. Stop it at 1:15 and it's muggafuggin' righteous insightful.

  • All was well until that shit started at the end! Morrison knew though!

  • Just stop the video before it gets to 1:15.

  • he just have another brain, genius brain man , genius brain...

  • jim morrison was extremely intelligent fuck all you slaves out in the world!

  • we are fucked -.-

  • i got the impression he was leaning more towards electronica/house/trance musicians and deejays who perform in massive clubs and use all kinds of equipment. there are one-man shows out there like that.

  • how the FUCK did he know!???????!!!!!!!!!!

  • att leslyy los quiero mucho

  • noo pos estan padres por q me gustan los doors

  • Guys I think we're all missing a key thing here about the message of the video. Jim was able to predict what would become of music because he was simply putting one and one together, WHAT HAPPENED TO MUSIC IS WHAT IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE HAPPENED. The chain of events its going through is merely another bridge music is going to have to cross in order to continue to develop. Music is forever. If you dont like todays music just remember: music is meant to advance and be changed. Make it happen.

  • @NickM95vids no it is not meant to advance and change, it is meant to inovate, and what was previously used to pass along a message it is now pornographic music, and believe me there is no advance in that, it is only made for money, now rock n' roll is meant to advance and change, and it did, it hit perfection at 1974, because it was harder to be a music legend before, now it is just too easy and fake.

  • @1OtherMr listen to underground music and quit bitching about what the radio plays. there is SO much good stuff out right now but i think the old timers are too lazy to find it or perhaps don't want to find it.

  • @sirsquiggly underground music? what are you a fucking hipster? and no, there isn't SO much good stuff out there right now people don't find it because there isn't , there is what YOU consider good, what you consider good because it is not mainstream

  • @1OtherMr hipster? fuck you buddy, i'm a hip-hop, electronica, and hard rock fan. i don't like the stuff because it isn't mainstream but the fact is a lot of good music has been forced mainstream since the industry promotes only shitty manufactured pop stars. before this decade the mainstream was more diverse.

  • @1OtherMr To pass along that message I believe it needs to change for different reasons. Music has many generations on it's shoulders now and that message is gunna be influenced and spread by many mouths and minds. Humans are forever changing. therefore our music will be forever changing. We have our dips and downs perhaps even major steps back ( which is how i look at our generation of music ) but i also believe the greatest downfalls can lead to the greatest uprises. i respect your opinion tho

  • Now we have american idol and various other talent contests whereby they digifuck it until it sounds passable.

  • fuck you eminem!

  • I am in Love

  • Sorry Jim, for ruining real music with all of this sh*t...

  • Yeah he predicted rap and electronic music. But I'm sure he did not envision people talking about their BLING and their BITCHES and basically how attractive they think they are. Rap was supposed to be the next step from blues, the African American man talking about his life. Somewhere they ruined it.

  • @nishantjn Yes badass bling and bitches. Very fitting. It sells. Skills to pay the bills you see.

  • He was bang on.

  • @Dimachillz87 Why are u so goddam uptight? be happy he posted the video instead of being a bitchy critic. SMH to ur 11 followers as well. Thats the problem with this generation, ppl are too goddam picky. Ur the type of person that would sue a shoe company for making your feet hurt. Fuck u, go smoke some fuckin weed and lighten up. Jesus christ

  • @fuckubutitsok i smoke in my comfy shoes all the time.

  • Calm the fuck down people he didn't predict dubstep.

    He predicted The Prodigy.

    Dubstep is awful.

  • if he was alive today he would be probably rave dj :P

  • i like it how in the 60-70s when someone talked, everyone else just gazed in their shoes, nodding, as if they were deeply connecting with the words of the speaker. also, jim is a genius. also, massive double erection when he predicted el. music in general not just hip hop

  • Not sure why everyone is getting an erection but i just think he's predicted electronic music in general not just hip hop !

  • typo* i meant to say rap as a genre doesn't deserve to be bashed

  • Not all rap is bad. The 80's rap was fun party music with a lot of positive lyrics and tons of creativity. It has become absolute garbage since then, but i don't think it the genre deserves to be bashed. Dubstep... i'm ashamed to admit it, but i listen to some sub genres of Dubstep (only when drunk). I think Dubstep in general does suck but it's the party music of my generation so I can't help but listen.

  • Comment removed

  • i think he said this because at the time so much experimental music was already being made with machines and tapes...as far back as the 1940's, in fact. He was most certainly introduced to the avant garde underground....What he says can be interpreted as a million types of music, not just rap. Think about all of the industrial music coming out in the late 70's and synth oriented music of that time...It already existed!

  • one thing is to make music using electronic instruments, and another thing sing (or bark) stupid lyrics on a looped ready to use sample, don't make me laugh, i really enjoy good hip hop, but the intention at the end of this video is really STUPID!

  • The worst intent to justify in some way (even if like me, a lot of people enjoy hip hop music) that somebody like Jim Morrison, who's one of the biggest singers in rock's history, is trying to say that machines can produce by themselves music, wake up, one thing is to respect all kind of music and another is to make silly comparisons,

  • raps awsome

  • he predicted nine inch nails, one man with machines

  • I like Eminem, but you don't lay Rap over a great clip like this, especially one of his notsogood songs :(

  • french traduction please

  • How dare you add such nonsense to the end of a Morrison video. What terrible music, and yes, i can appreciate good hip hop. That was not it.

  • @EyesofNeurosis eminem IS good hiphop

  • @EyesofNeurosis Disagree.

  • @EyesofNeurosis thats emimen, how dare you insult him, what kinda of good hip hop do u appreciate, eminem is at the top of the pyramid

  • @Xiethetuber Man!! Do not be so naive!! Being at the top of the commercial hip-hop market, does not mean being at the top of hip-hop itself. It rather means the oppositte!!!

  • @apataye #Immortal_Technique

  • the end killed it

  • I forget that Jim is far more intelligent than I often give him credit for being. This is a very well-reasoned and accurate prediction, based on the musical reality of his times, no less.

  • @ljh2000 Yeah and I bet he was high on acid when he said it.

  • @TheGrimmPoet actually, he wasn't using acid at this point. He only used acid in the beginning like 1965 - 1967 or '68. Starting in '68 booze was his thing and that's what killed him. Regardless of what he was on, Morrison was on the money when it came to predicting what new music would be like. He had 156 IQ so something was coming through all the drug and booze haze.

  • Fuck rap and hip hop. Long Live to the true Music . Doors, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, Pantera ftw!

  • @TheOzzyMania I love how you named your channel after ozzy but didnt mention sabbath

  • High as a mother fucker.

  • nice sun glasses

  • I'm breakn a sweat

    i said iss alriiiight

  • I like rap, I like The Doors, I like classical, I like metal, I love music!

  • @sartanko You're boring.

  • any one who listens to mm and the like needs there head checked its bullshit, they are all depressing bastards,

  • hip hop is magic ! all kind of music is magic !

  • mai tunde-te ba

  • Predicted pop/rap/all electronic type music

  • dubstep fucking sucks

  • @furie1 thank you, someone that hates dubstep, im surrounded by stupid people telling me to listen to dubstep, but i have tryed to listen to it but it is just sounds so bad, and it sounds like someone recorded there fart and remixed it.

  • @furie1 brostep sucks. huge difference.

  • Why ruin a perfectly good video with that SHIT at the end?!? smh...

  • @Dimachillz87 i think he meant to show the music of today and how it did chnge...

  • @harrycarlitos91 A renaissance era is exactly necessary, thank you good sir

  • Who gives a fuck about what you think, any of you.

  • @1Foggia who gives a fuck what YOU think, if you dont like him why watch it?Just shut up.

  • @TheMadmorg I am the Lizard King, I can do anything, you horrible cunt.

  • What's funny is that I bet the guy interviewing Morrison thought he was stoned as shit and talkin all kinds of crazy.

  • thats really weird that he pretty much nailed it on the head....

  • We need someone to break out this awful reign of shit music. Someone who can make kids realize that rap sucks cock! Parents are full aware of this, and no its stupid, so the bulk of the problem is changing the popular mind of todays music. However people are too fucking dumb to point one ear, they are too engulfed in their "music" that has ABSOLUTELY NO MEANINGS.

  • @TACOCHEESESAUCE who cares? i'd rather thick people listen to shit music! at least then when you meet someone who likes the music you like there just dumb fucks jumping on rthe bandagon, it's better this way because there are still millions and millions who buy and listen to good music

  • @Mellon7787 should say "not" just dumb fucks...

  • @TACOCHEESESAUCE i THINK WHAT YOU ARE SAYING!!! The Parents are aware is the problem hell lol I bought my first Kiss and GNR albums cause my parents were well aware lol

  • @TACOCHEESESAUCE Your right. We need to look at examples like the stones, the who, the doors, ACDC get back to the roots and start producing real music with real talent. Any asshole can rap.Thats why The only hiphop i respect is the underground hip hop that raps about social issues, the truth, not that bullshit. Something kids can learn. Rock is something majestic, awesome, I wish we would just have a renaissance of great rock bands, akin to the bands I named above.

  • rap sucks, but Eminem is in his own league. at least he was at one point.

  • What did he say? I fell asleep.

  • good music R.I.P

thank you Jim for putting out real music along with other artists of your time.

  • he was referring to electronica music, and sadly but true, jim was a bit racist... everyone has roots. and no jim wouldnt have listened to lil wayn haha clown shoes

  • rock lives on in metal! anyone heard of gamma ray, dragonland, tad morose...?

  • 99.99% of black music is shit, its taken over the proper music of today, and i am not being racist either as my opinion stands for white people that try to copy black music......they predicted the end of Rock n Roll in the 70's and its came true, there will never be a Rock n Roll era in my lifetime as i was born in the 80's and thats sad.

  • @funkymcmunky have you heard the blues? muddy waters, ledbelly, duke robillard; these were some of the finest musicians around. id reccomend you listen to them. rap and r&b in my opinion is garbage, but the blues is the best.

  • @RockandRollBigot yes i would agree but im not talking about blues i would class the blues of the 50's and 60's as rock n roll, i refer to rap and r&b which as you state is crap.

  • WOW Fuckin Spot on Mr. Morrison

  • I can't believe I use to think Morrison actually had something worth while to say. I guess when you're 20 something, you think 20 something year olds really got it figured out.

  • @trentholt what did he say that was wrong..everything he says in this clip is 100% true

  • he was right

  • this don't mean my bro was ... lol. fuck you dumb asses. thats right I actually swore.

  • ALL WHO LOVE THE DOORS AND MIRRISON READ A BOOK THE DOORS OF PERCEPTION

  • @lego4able does that have anything to do with aldous huxley?

  • Talk about future predictions, Jim Morrison is clearly doing an Eddie Vedder impersonation here, he must have time traveled

  • There is nothing wrong with rap music. I believe if they're rapping about something that is relevant to their feelings or such then there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. But, this Lil Wayne shit is out of control. Pussy, money, and weed is all I hear from his nasty metal mouth.

  • rap sucks..

  • @futuristfood not hip hop!!

  • @futuristfood Hip hop is fantastic.

  • @futuristfood modern rap sucks. the old stuff was pretty damn good.

  • @futuristfood That's pretty subjective, condescending an entire genre of music. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a big rap fan I prefer the blues, but you can't justifiably say an entire genre sucks just because you don't like it's mainstream content.

  • @futuristfood

how can u just say rap sucks? It's still music just as mush as a band or choir. What sucks is the ghetto lyrics these sellouts choose to give to the world. I know Jim Morrison would agree because he told me this in a dream...bitch.

  • @futuristfood rap does suck!!! HIP HOP IS THE SHIT!!!!!

  • that is a bit creepy, but cool

  • Jim Morrison without question has an wonderful imagination but considering this interview was conducted in 1969 music had changed like it had never changed before since the birth of rock and roll in the 1950's. Even music was changing in the 1960's. People in history have always thought that machines would take over. The music industry was no expectation. I predict that most of the inventions popular in the 20th century will die out in this century...IT'S CALLED EVOLUTION!!!!

  • morrison live
