@PrismaMD I think The turbo s is the only 911 where you can't get a manual transmission. PDK is great i've driven all the new 911 models (except the turbo s ) , but for me it is not a sports car if it doesnt have a manual shift. Dual clutch while faster gets 'boring' - after an hour you wish you had a manual . Just my preference, Note that gt2 , gt3's come only with manual
Porsche 911 Carrera Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Porsche 911 Targa Porsche 911 Turbo Porsche 911 Turbo S Porsche 911 GT2 Porsche 911 GT3 Porsche 911 GT3 RS I know a 4WD version is necessary for the weak-hearted but come on, that's a lot of 911s to choose from. And WOW! Some people are taking gearboxes waaaay too seriously -_- (stupid YouTube not accepting nextlines a.k.a double spaces-_-)
@PrismaMD FACT: the DSG gearbox was developed over 10 years ago LOOK IT UP. Learn the difference between a DSG, a manual shift gearbox, an automatic transmition and a robotized manual transmition. ASSHOLE
@PrismaMD you´re probably from the states, you see... a manual gearbox gives you more control over the engine that any onther gear changing system, requires way more expertise to drive precisely, and its twice the fun. its about the challenge... why do you think a carrera gt doesnt have an automatic transition? it was already available, and an audi R8? they could all be automatic, they´re not. primitive technology? do everyone a favour and go fuck yourself.
@xiaogan Fine, prove me wrong. Provide a link to back up what you're saying or shut your fucking mouth. Stop talking out of your ass you stupid slant-eyed troll.
@Musicvidsetc haha look at the way you talk...obviously you must be a poor loser...no class...no money...dont need to waste my time with you...haha...i know ppl who own both and they say turbo S still lose...anyways have fun. =)
@xiaogan So, basically you can't provide any proof whatsoever. That's what I thought. So, now you can shut the fuck up since you obviously don't know what you're talking about.
I would prefer a manual anyday, ive taken the time to learn how to heel n toe and there is a lot of satisfaction in getting it right. Whether the PDK is o.2 seconds faster is irrelavent. Otherwise i would by a toyota.
@PrismaMD good point, but some people prefer manual to a sequential and it is possible to have a manual gearbox which works well with an incredibly powerful engine as was done in the lambo murch which btw was considered a hypercar.. it's more a matter of preference.. the dual clutch system's major strength is that it doesn't burn out when you use launch control.. like i said, it's all a matter of preference
@PrismaMD Most drivers don't race their sports cars and don't have access to a race track so manual gear boxes are much more fun while driving on the highway and in the city away from heavy traffic.
@evans4you Porsche makes track cars. When you drive one, all you want to do is go around corners faster and faster. It's the engineering behind the car that makes you feel like a bionic part of the car. Having said that, Porsche on the 'lower-end' cars will still offer manual transmissions for those who want to park it by the harbour to show off. However, the higher-end ones is only offered in auto cuz it's simply faster. Its the engineering way of Porsche and its the way of the future.
@bcsngan You're right and the porsche pdk transmission is way faster in shifting than human could but I bet you 99% of all porsche buyers buy them because they want to be cool and drive them only in the summer.
@evans4you I doubt that actually. You should see how many people actually take their porsches to the track. The Turbo S is seriously meant for the track. if the owner doesn't have tracking passion, they would HATE how stiff the suspensions are in the city, how hard the seats are, how sensitive the carbon ceramic brakes are They really wouldn't buy the car. They would get a lambo instead. Thus I could reasonably guess that you've never driven a porsche before.
@bcsngan I already told I've never driven a porsche but I have fallen in love with the looks of the carrera S and I'm considering buying one. Why would a lambo be softer riding?
@evans4you Ah! Have you even been reading what I've been writing? If you don't plan to take the Carrera S to the track, u'll hate it. The difference between the C and the C S is more than the engine. The C S is set up all ready for the track, making it horribly uncomfortable in the city. Lambos aren't built for the track, they're luxury comfy cruisers. Why else do you think there's so many Ferraris with such low mileage? They buy it without tracking in mind and they end up hating it in the city.
@bcsngan Okay, if you know what you're talking about then which brand name super car do ytou recommend for buyers who desire style without a choppy ride on the highway? I know for a fact that the nissan 370z is quite smooth.
@evans4you If you're looking for a smooth 2 seater, the regular Carrera is okay. Also the Mercedes SL/SLK, BMW Z4 or the Jaguar XK (depends on ur budget), if you're looking to spend more than that, Lambos and Aston Martins..
@evans4you I drive a 08 M3 manual myself. If you take a look, for some odd reason, the Z4 35is costs more than the M3 manual. So.... that boggles my mind. I've read bad reviews about the 35is engine, might as well go for the smaller engine. Corvettes are about brute force with no class. The trunk is made of plastic, interior is horrible, and ride is crummy. Best for the track. If u're looking for american, wait for the new Dodge Viper coming in 2013.
@evans4you Corvettes are they fastest car for your money, yea sure they are mainly plastic and the interior is hardly refined but if you want to feel fancy buy a European car. They have gobs of torque and with an almost perfect 50/50 weight distribution they handle pretty well. They also have a HUGE after market selection. Just go test drive whatever you are looking at and decide for yourself what is right. In your face cheap reliable power or expensive European class.
From wikipedia: " A 2010 911 Turbo was tested 0-60 in 2.7 seconds with the PDK transmission by Car and Driver magazine. Road & Track tested the 911 Turbo S and achieved a 0-60 time of 2.6 seconds.
@PrismaMD That is totally subjective. Many people, including many people at Porsche prefers the experience of drivning a 3-pedal manual gearbox setup. That is why the flagship model, the GT2 RS got one, and also why Porsche is coming up with a new 7-speed manual later this year. My personal favourite though is the 3-pedal semiautomatic setup which is used in DTM and several other racing cars and some road cars like the Ascari A10.
I would agree, chrisfullofsteel is an idiot whose syntax most likely reflects his limited intelligence. I would much rather have a manaul transmission and be involved in the car than sit back and let some computer do my work, even if I do lose. At least there is some modicum of skill involved. Ferrari has done us all a great disservice.
@PrismaMD You're an idiot sir. Perhaps the whole idea of an exotic is not to have the fastest times but also an involving experience? Stop being a little fanboy that just cares about number and get with what automotive passion is all about, not just the hard numbers.
@PrismaMD Absolutely correct, last I checked less than 8 percent of the vehicles sold in the US had the old style 3-pedal manual transmission? In any case twin-clutch/CVT/auto-manual transmissions are the future (ie we built the machine now let's use it!)
@chrisfullofsteel I didn't expect you to make any valid arguments. Everybody can now see how wrong you are in the comment where this pissing contest started. To bad for you your life sucks. Just rap videos and such crap in your channel. Dreaming about a decent life you are. I'm sorry I have to be the one telling you this.
@chrisfullofsteel Yeah, go be proud you can drive a manual you crybaby. Just like everybody else with two minutes of practice. And even still, you will never drive a manual better than you would be with the PDK. Suck it up.
This car is sooo efficient when it comes to performance. Man it have 55 percent of Buggati's Hp and less than 50 percent torque. Yet it is almost 1/3 faster to 60 than the Veyron!
@chrisfullofsteel What an absolutely idiotic comment. It's sounds like you are stuck in the past. Just that you aren't. You are a douchebag talking crap even when the subject is something you know little or nothing about. It used to be true that a pure manual transmission was the way to go. But technology has evolved since then. I'll give you a hint. F1 cars.... Now, go suck it up crybaby.
@chrisfullofsteel Another idiotic comment. In Europe you can't find a single person with a driving license who can't drive a manual. It's mandatory to get one. Fact is that the modern transmissions are very good. You just can't use a manual better then the automatics and semiautomatics from eg Porsche and Ferrari. They change gear faster and do better rev matching on down changes then you ever will. It's nothing like shitty clunky american transmissions. And they are used in F1 cars.
@chrisfullofsteel Are you dense? You actually implied that it takes skill to drive a manual. It doesn't Everybody can drive a manual after five minutes of practice. It's not like it takes more skill then riding a tricycle. Takes a bit more practice to do it very well (rev matching etc) but very few actually do anyway.
@LiveLarger exactly wtf r people tripping on its only harder for retards manual and automatic is the same if u drive good its completly the same only thing it changes is ur a bit more comfortable with a automatic homos it dosent require more skill to drive manual then automatiic
seriously 700!? 700 nm !?!?!?!?!? OMFG!!! i watched top gear earlier and they reviewed the mercedes brabus sl which has a V12 engine and gets "only" 100 nm more...i dont know what porsche does with their vehicles but it works
@Jamzkangster is it because he uses words that only those who have graduated from high school can understand? sorry bro, shoulda focused more on your education
@Jamzkangster@Jamzkangster of course he's reading a fucking script. its a goddamn advertisement. what, you think the guy did it live? it doesnt matter if he doesnt know what he's talking about, its not like he can say "this script is wrong, i'll say whatever i want cuz ima boss" he's paid for his tool bag voice. he even has a british accent to make this whole thing sound fancy. the car costs more than 150k. they dont have to make this appealing to everyone, just the ones who can afford it.
Fantastic car it would match an F1 car to 60 (not what it's about) but a great car by the germans I'd own one even it it loses out after 100mph or so to it's competitors.
The funny thing about Porsche is that a 4.5 second 350 Horsepower vehicle costs the same as a 3.1 0-60 second 600 Horsepower vehicle. Vice versa, a 375 Horsepower car costs the same as a 550 Horsepower super car. There is no accordance in pricing. OMG!!
all this and a ZR1 will walk away from it after the 1/4 with a very good driver will eat it then, but cars are crazy now, each company keeps raising the bar
Porsches are amazing cars, not only because of their performance but because of their practicality. A car like a turbo S has the performance of a supercar, yet is tame enough to comfortably drive daily.
whats ABSOLUTELY incredible is that this car (2010 model) ACTUALLY does 0-60 in 2.6 seconds......2.6 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!!(as tested in january issue of road and track), now, whats fucked up, is that the stock turbo has 500 hp. this turbo "s" has ONLY 30 more hp, YET gets it exactly 1 second quicker to 60, absolutely incredible engineering by those germans
@hondahp18 its not 1 second quicker to 60. motortrend tested a 911 turbo (500hp) and got 0-60 in 2.8. what i think is more impressive than the 0-60 is the 0-30 times. 0-30 by motortrend for the turbo was 1.0. Im more of a fan of the ZR1 though. Looks, sound, tons of power.
@hondahp18 i know the turbo s does 2.6, im saying that the turbo does 2.8 by motortrend. You said "this turbo s has only 30 more hp, yet gets it exactly 1 second quicker to 60."
@kenwoodtilah wrong it's 2.6...search for the test drive....porsche always says thatthe 0-60 time is a bit longer than reality....its' called style and not bragging :P
WTF is "newton meters of torque" That doesn't mean anything, it doesn't make sense!
Aside from that, 0-60 in 3.2 seconds is absolutely amazing and so are all the complex mechanical and electronic features on this car. Another fantastic addition to the legendary 911 line up.
@EliteSlayer542 a 'Newton meter' is a measurement unit of torque. (force x distance). It could be in 'pound-force-feet' if you are using non metric units...
It is funny how porsche expects people to be wowed by a number that we cant 'feel' - in an add.
However, it is the torque(at relatively low RPM) that this beautiful engine produces and the car's light weight that helps it hit the 3.2 sec mark.
@Jardisk8r They sure do. I only like the 911; they also can't make sedans and the SUVs aren't any better than BMW or Mercedes SUVs. Don't know how anyone can dislike this car though.. it's simply amazing. You'd shit your pants if you floor the pedal in it for 5 seconds
@smokenfly514 i like the new cayenne on every other SUV, even though i dont like SUV, but the back is just horrible. about the Panamera id say its cool, i prefer a rapide but costs way more so Id take a Quattroporte GTS that i have.
about the sports car, this 911, according to the video is like a beast of technology but im complaining about the look, not engine. if all the porsche looked like the carrera gt or the 918 spyder i would like them, but the sports all look the same
Sounds like the ultimate porsche, as good as the 911 gets. If you're pouring thousands into a car like this and want the best, may as well go all out, std PDK, AWD, 530 hp. I heard 911s have upscale interiors too to go with that godly performance....
el 911 es el jefe le pese a quien le pese.Aunque lo comparen con todos coches habidos y por haber y encima se mea a ciertos caballinos reumaticos y toros mansos en lo que a eficacia se refiere.larga vida al 911

OMG!!

Porsches are amazing cars, not only because of their performance but because of their practicality. A car like a turbo S has the performance of a supercar, yet is tame enough to comfortably drive daily.

whats ABSOLUTELY incredible is that this car (2010 model) ACTUALLY does 0-60 in 2.6 seconds......2.6 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!!(as tested in january issue of road and track), now, whats fucked up, is that the stock turbo has 500 hp. this turbo "s" has ONLY 30 more hp, YET gets it exactly 1 second quicker to 60, absolutely incredible engineering by those germans
hondahp18 1 year ago 25
@hondahp18 its not 1 second quicker to 60. motortrend tested a 911 turbo (500hp) and got 0-60 in 2.8. what i think is more impressive than the 0-60 is the 0-30 times. 0-30 by motortrend for the turbo was 1.0. Im more of a fan of the ZR1 though. Looks, sound, tons of power.
loudblazer 1 year ago
@loudblazer NO, 2010-11 911 turbo S 0-60 2.6, look it up before you try to sound smart :)
hondahp18 1 year ago
@hondahp18 i know the turbo s does 2.6, im saying that the turbo does 2.8 by motortrend. You said "this turbo s has only 30 more hp, yet gets it exactly 1 second quicker to 60."
loudblazer 1 year ago
this car make 0-60 in 3.3 not 2.6
kenwoodtilah 1 year ago
@kenwoodtilah wrong it's 2.6...search for the test drive....porsche always says thatthe 0-60 time is a bit longer than reality....its' called style and not bragging :P
xxxtoxxxandxxx 11 months ago
@hondahp18 That's almost as fast as a Veyron... difference is.. this baby's got almost HALF of the Bugatti's horsepower!! In-cre-di-ble!!
stevendufour 1 year ago
@hondahp18 no way it achieved 0-60mph to 2.6 seconds unless you're talking about 0-60kmh
llaertis 11 months ago
@hondahp18 not quite in this video its says 3.3 secs...i think your talkin' about f1 cars!!!
TonyBby 11 months ago
@hondahp18
Its not 1 second quicker than stock turbo as the turbo can do 0-60 in 3-3.1 seconds.
Nevertheless, still an amzaing feit by Porsche.

EliteSlayer542 1 year ago
@EliteSlayer542 a 'Newton meter' is a measurement unit of torque. (force x distance). It could be in 'pound-force-feet' if you are using non metric units...
It is funny how porsche expects people to be wowed by a number that we cant 'feel' - in an add.
However, it is the torque(at relatively low RPM) that this beautiful engine produces and the car's light weight that helps it hit the 3.2 sec mark.
abedankanthasamy 1 year ago
@abedankanthasamy its actually 2.6 seconds a millisecond off of the bugatti ss

xxxtoxxxandxxx 11 months ago
@smokenfly514 Fuck Porsche, stop looking all the same though
Jardisk8r 11 months ago
@Jardisk8r They sure do. I only like the 911; they also can't make sedans and the SUVs aren't any better than BMW or Mercedes SUVs. Don't know how anyone can dislike this car though.. it's simply amazing. You'd shit your pants if you floor the pedal in it for 5 seconds
smokenfly514 11 months ago
