Do they always equate poor with lazy? What about me? Im not poor but not even quite middle class. I am a teacher. People put the children's minds and bodies in my care. I put in many many hours in teaching, preparing, correcting, and doing extracurricular activities like sports,drama club, etc. I work very hard for my students, my family, and my community. And I still don't work as hard as a single mother with 2 part time jobs and no benefits. Let the rich pay more, they will still stay rich

You need to read the book, "Meltdown" by Dr. Thomas Woods. Liberal regulation put us into this mess. The housing and redevelopment act is a regulation that helped put people into houses they couldn't afford to pay for. Democrats from Carter to Clinton wanted to look good to their minority voters.
We had bus drivers living in 700,000 dollar houses. Regulation causes this to happen. Bush and McCain warned about this.

The act to which you reber only required that practive of red lining be stopped. It did not require that banks make loans to poor credit risks. The Banks did that on their own, knowing that the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac would buy up the loans, thereby pushing the risk off to others, while the banks made money in upfront fees and service charges. The banks were ALWAYS free to establish sound lending policies based on income, debt and expenses. Due to greed, they chose to not do so.

In 2006 & 2007, the Obamas gave 5.8 percent and 6.1 percent of their income to charity. The Bidens gave 0.15 percent and 0.31 percent of the income to charity.
Meanwhile, in 1991, 1992 and 1993, George W. Bush had incomes of $179,591, $212,313 and $610,772. His charitable contributions those years were $28,236, $31,914 and $31,292. During his presidency, Bush gave away more than 10 percent of his income each year.
