The veteran must have served 90 days of active duty, including one day during a period of war, but not necessarily overseas. Also, the veteran must have been discharged honorably. There are a lot of programs out there to help people and, unfortunately, people don't always know about them. It's a way of allowing veterans to receive care that they really need that they won't receive because the families won't feel they have the money.
This is still dragging on labour hoped it would die out and the media would move on cowards. Labour do not like the nations armed forces they know the gurkhas and their families will not vote for labour but some jihadi hamas supporting third world false asylum seeker will.
this is an absolute disgrace, these warriors deserve better, this government dont give a shit, call your self abdul and pop out 20 kids , say you hate britain and money will be thrown at you !
i wonder if britain would like to keep those worthless peoples who are just a burden to a society,country..killing and stabbing peoples.,,bombing and terrorism act..but not to allow keeping those peoples who served and has still been serving for this country for more than 2 centuries..and who has got a sight of being honest and living in peace..
I spent 33 years in uniform, of those years I spent just six days with the Gurkhas, but those are the men that I remember the most. They were Gentlemen and I am very proud to have met them, although briefly. Good luck guys.
Hi, I've put a link to Joanna Lumley's petition on my channel. There's also a new 10 Downing Street petition on now for UK citizens. Please see my channel for the link and support the Gurkha heroes.
Its a ridiculous state of affairs. The ghurkas should be given all the rights of british soldiers -- I hope this film goes towards helping their cause.
It's often thought that in WWII Britain stood alone. That's a myth. Britain never stood alone. We had the backing of our colonial neighbours, Australia, New Zealand, Canada.
Then there were the smaller nations like Nepal, the homeland of the Ghurka. They stood beside us in our darkest hour.
"Bravest of the brave, most generous of the generous, never had a country more
faithful friends than you."
Give them their rights, it's the least a grateful nation can do.
These gurkas have served british against the freedom fighters of many countries including India. So they are collaborator of colonial ruler........no pride
yeah right... and let me tell you that the indian army also recruits Gurkha regiments in its battalions. In fact, Gurkhas supported India greatly during the Indo-China war. Who's got pride now huh?
Seems like standard America politics to me. We did the same thing to foreign fighters that helped us in the Vietnam war, left them and forgot about them.

They won their court case today and Gurkhas can now live in the UK.
Now all they have to do is win their case for equal pensions to all who fought for the UK in all wars.
Good luck, boys, and welcome, if you chose to live here.

Why hasn't the Queen gotten involved? She still has the power to override much of the bureaucracy and stand up for thoughs who have served her.
