When I was a kid my father worked at the flooded mine there. I remember an old joke they used to pull at this crossing. The crossing guard would ask everyone to shake their fists and yell ugly at the train as it went through. The conductor on the train would tell the passengers to wave at all the friendly people waiting at the crossing. The confused reactions of the passengers was priceless!
