  • Sounds great. Just don't rush it, take your time, clean it up and you'll end up just perfectly! Rock on!

  • Maple neck on the Tele's look great.

    *Check my Tele demo.

  • great tone man!! super picking!!

  • telecaster forever!!!!

  • If you wouldn't mind a little helpfull critque, you need to focus less on speed and focus much more on accuracy and timing. Just putting it out there.

  • That's killer playing and killer tone!

  • teles are the worlds best guitars

  • Neither the Tele or Strat is better. It's all a personal opinion of your liking. I love Teles and Strats. I have a Fender HSS Strat, which is great too.

  • I luv tele's

    NICe pickin'

  • i prefer teles over strat, The strat shape does not turn me on.

Strats have notch position but so do tele with middle position for rhythm

    Starts either sound belly (50's) or glassy (60's) , p90ish (70's)h.

Tele's sound sqaunky, biting, round, warm, cutting twang all depending on p.u.'s and tone adjustments. With right p.u very versatile, and simple. There is simple beaut and power and rawness in a tele. A strat is like the tele's sister. There is no one is better just different.

  • @tele757

But starts are more friendly to play, i have both, and i think the strat plays better, but i love the telecaster :D

I actually have the exact same colour and pick guard and maple neck as this guy :P

  • Hi Dude,

What's your setup? amp, pedals etc.

Which tele is the one you are playing?

  • i love both the strat and the tele... saving up to get a standard tele with some texas special pup's in it

strat is from the 70's hoping i can find a vintage tele

  • i like how some of the comments argue; Gibson is better, no Tele is better, no strat.lol....IMO you need one of each.

  • ive always been a strat guy but you make me wanna go buy a tele...nice!

  • I've had Ricky's, Les Pauls, Strats, Hamer Specials, Parkers, Danelectro Ibanez tree of life and many others mostly top of the range axes and all the time I had my 2 Telecasters a MIA and a MIM. By the end of the gig I seemed to ALWAYS end up with my MIM Classic 50 Tele in my arms.

They've all left me now but I have my Historic '56 LP and a beat up MIM Tele who's waiting for a set of Brierley Harmony specials. Teles RULE!

  • I LOVE my MIM Tele!

  • Teles are amazing. Best guitar ever.

  • Tell Jimmy Page that a Tele is just a country guitar, he'll laugh in your face. The solo to Stairway is a Tele. Stone Temple Pilots, Jeff Beck (!!!), Prince, Mick Mars, Radiohead, every indie band like, ever, the list goes on. Strat spank with Les Paul oomph - the Tele can rock with the best of them. I have one that's HSS config with a floyd and a mid-boost, and I have another standard. Both can rock the casbah.

  • Don't forget that Tom Morello recorded most of the "Rage Against The Machine" album with a Telecaster.

  • Just started playing cant make my mind up between the nashville or the baja telecaster.

  • you gotta love the tele

  • teles are beautiful, i'm saving up for one that i saw at the local guitar shop

  • thats sweet playin' man keep it up!!!!!ROCK ON

  • I'm more into strats myself, but man you've got an amazing tone here. Some great playing too, keep on picking.

  • Telecaster, the greatest guitar ever! Such an amazing sound. :D

  • right on man!

  • Im so turned on by that.

  • I loved it. Nice. Super nice.

  • I have the same guitar! Nice video.

  • Great chops. Awesooooome!

  • This is Music!

  • A teles like a hammer and chisel, if you know how to use it it will create something beautiful. If you don't things will get messy very quickly.

  • what kinda amp u playin

  • hey moonman (or anyone else who knows) when your inprovising how do you know when you can move up on the fretboard plz help

  • i really dont like telecasters because you know.... i think any guitar can provide you a good time and sound with a nice pedal. and all i hear from this guitar is the good sound it has. but you cant do screams or dive bombs with it =((( also the body is just ugly :P

  • I disagree, but I do like the stratocaster better.

  • If you need a pedal for a guitar to sound good, that's probably saying something about the player. Your tone comes from your fingers bro.

  • i dont get what you are saying but i mean even with a pedal you dont sound good... you show it by playing nice. the main thing is that im saying that all the people are like... wow this guitar is the best sound... i mean all the guitars are the same and on this one you cant do many many many things.

  • My point is, if you don't play cleanly the tele will make you sound worse; playing with distortion can hide sloppy playing, especially when playing fast. Take you own guitar, turn up the treble and turn down the bass (on guitar and amp)without any distortion or overdrive and try to make a fast scalar pattern. It's much harder; this is why people who don't like teles don't like teles. You can do just as much with a tele as with an Ibanez; just not dive bombs, which is no loss, just noise.

  • It wasn't made to do dive bombs/"screams"; Who said the body is ugly, I find it quite appealing :D, It grew on me :P.

  • I used to think the same thing, but that's your opinion. The body is not ugly to many people, including myself. When I was younger and dumber all I cared about was Ibanez, Jackson, ESP, and similar "metal" types of guitars with whammy's, and bought one myself. But I wised up and now have myself an American Tele. Yes, you can do screams, but it's not about that. It's about playing "music"; all that metal distortion is good to hide the non-musical playing of shredder-wannabe's.

  • yea but the thing that makes me mad is that all of those people just praise the guitar and not the skills of the player :SSSS

  • i agree, i used to think teles were ugly, i wanted les pauls and strats.. now i own a gretsch and im looking to get a tele.

its all about the nice curves and the classic look!

and im a sucker for F shaped sound holes.

so it may be a Thinline telecaster for me!

  • I hate strats personally so I didn't give fenders much thought until I heard a Tele and now I'm gettin one.

  • Good and wise man!

  • I prefer the Tele because it come's without a whammy. I wish Fender would make more models with a hard tail, and maybe I would consider buying one someday. I HATE the whammy bar!!!!

  • u know u can take it out right

  • OF COURSE I DO!!!! But I would never buy a guitar with a whammy just to take it out. If I'm paying for a new guitar I do want it to at least look good for a while (until I bang it around myself!).

  • My Ibanez came with a whammy and the bars pretty much been in the case for the last 3 months because I never use it, it just puts the guitar out of tune and hides poor playing.

  • Great work man!

Can I ask you what setting your Vox Valvetronix is on? Most important: which ampsimulation?

  • It sounds very Fenderish so I'm guessing either Black 2x12 or Tweed 4x12.

  • he could also be on boutique clean with the bass turned way down. it sounds very much like mine when i do that

  • Great tone, do some rockabilly songs!

  • excellent sounding Tele. The Tele is the one and only true Hot Rod guitar there is..bare naked and it has what it takes without multi effects cloaking it. Listen to your guitar above..no effects..any others sound like that?

    MusicMatty67 on Youtube

  • how long you been playing mooman nice job! Can't wait till i can improv for hours! I'm working on soloing and making up riffs for my own songs do you have any tips for me on how to get better at it more quickly?

  • for guitar playing: u need practice!

for writting: ..let your soul speak

  • Ha! no substitute for time huh bajacharlie :) I think back to when i first started playing and i just smile at how far i've come and how much farther i have to go!

  • I've got both a tele and a strat, both with custom shop pickups (custom '69 for the strat and texas tele) and I must say that both guitars offer me quite a lot of versatility! They just sound differently. But when it comes down to very different styles, my tele is the winner. Strats often sound better for softer things - it's easy to prove me wrong (e.g. Hendrix), but that's what I think - while a tele can do anything. Jimmi was using a tele when he recorded "Hey Joe".

I just love both of them!

  • What ampsimulation did you use with your valvetronix for this video? I like the sound of it very much! So do I like your playing!

Could you also make a video with this guitar en these pickups using overdrive/distortion?

  • I've played several teles and man......get a strat :), they just sing better.

  • mmm no...telecaster have much better sounds

    stratocasters...no thank you

    there wayy over rated

  • There's no doubt teles are probably the best rythm guitars out there, but for solos and lead ... strat all the way :)

  • idk just an opionion i dont like the strat

love the sound of a tele though

  • Disagree with that. Tele's can solo just as well as the Strat. I lot of people don't like the Tele "bite", but that's only a matter of rolling off the highs on you guitar, amp, or both!

  • Love Telecaster!

    Sounds great

    Nice playing man

  • I have seen your other videos and you can play but the sound of that guitar is not up to it , no real body to it

  • teles for life man... if your goin with fender anyways...i own a nice nashville tele with a bigsby wang bar.....a nashville tele is very simular to a strat anyway with the 3 pickups rather then the classic 2 pickup teles... but if you really wanna play a nice guitar get a gibson les paul, or a gretcsh...hah

  • it dont sound like your using a fender amp...

  • reminds me of soul to squeeze by rhcp in a way

  • Sounds great, I love it!

  • Levonhelmet I would most certainly not say that the tele is the most versitile guitar. My primary electricts consist of an American made tele standard, LP standard, SG, and a jeff buck strat. If I were going to a concert in wich i had to play jazz, blues, rock and, country lets say. I would absolutely bring the LP.

  • I would probably go with a strat but that is just me. LP's are versatile though.

  • i'd take my strat over my tele, lp, etc when it comes down to versatility

  • Riding with the king... listen to clapton and BB King side of the music... while clapton is on his signature fender strat king is using his gibson lucille... it depends merely on the player... like them both... it's like choosing between sweet or bitter, can't really decide cause it's up to every player, now I really looking for a tele, since I'm playing a lot more blues and jazz... guess that I'm no longer a metal teenager, I'm not even a teenager since long xD

  • I just bought a Japanese 62 re-issue tele off ebay with texas specials too, cant wait to get it! :D Great Playing btw keep it up!

  • What a beauty!

Good style playing too. I like it very much.

    Keep it up!

  • i dont care if ppl say a tele is a country guitar im gonna buy 1 and go as hard rock as i can and post it as soon as i get a vid camera and you will see some uncountry music

  • tele best guitar ( it's mine =D )

i have a tele with texas special...it's sound very good... i love Fender Telecaster...don't you? =D

  • As versitile as the Tele is, it is still a country guitar. Strats have more range but have more confusung variations. Still, it is the user. Strummer did well on his tele.

  • well if u think its country go listen to the first few zeppelin albums... there all done on a tele.oh and the solo to stairway to heaven....thats done on a tele as well.dont believe me? look it up.best most versatile guitar for any music period.

  • Oh, I do believe it. No doubt at all. But it is the prefered solid body by most country players. (my point poorly worded) Teles and broadcasters are not nearly as common with rock or blues. It is what you do with it rather than what it is. It is versitile and simple. Alot to like about that. So is the Strat but has more at hand sound options, which I prefer. Other than that the sound doesn`t differ much. I have both and will never part.

  • I really want your guitar. The blues riffs just melt out of that thing.

  • lol that nail polish comment caught me off guard. right on though, tele's are where its at keep it goin guy

  • Nice job, may the twang be with you ;)

  • hey, I was inspired by your video to by this texas special bridge p.u. for my new mexican esquire. Will be installing it in next few days. My esquire is as good as any custom shop guitar-whoohoo!. Great playing!

  • Hey Tyler, thanks for the comment on my video! i love your playing in these vids, you have a great tasteful style. LOVE the tone also. keep twanging!]

    Sol xxx

  • great job man... american or mexican tele??

  • mexican

  • sounds great keep it up

  • Where does it look like i'm wearing nail polish?

  • It's just the video colors shifting a bit. How about some serious comments or none at all.

  • @guiltengine85 Why are you wearing nail polish too? How much make up do you use and what type of lipstick do you use? LOL

  • Choke that chickin...cool dude.

  • great sound out of that there tele....

  • Coming along. Keep at it.

  • Nice job...you're gettin' it.
