Shut up bro this isnt even the right way to catch a bullpin, if you were actually working on something youd be blockin those balls in the dirt instead of picking them, or maybe instead of moving your whole body to catch an away pitch just moving your arm and framing. oh and by the way dont try and act like your good by catching a FORMER pro, I caught a professional pitcher throwing 91 at the age of 14.
Your suppossed to move your whole body to FRAME a pitch buddy. thats how you frame. If you bodies behind the ball it looks more like a strike. every catcher should know that.
@weeceewok you actually just move your wrist to frame a pitch. and the ump looks at the glove thats why you keep it there for a sec or to so the ump can get a good look
thats a drill not a bullpen bud. Bullpens teach you muscle memory, not new techniques or how to do anything new. If you don't catch bullpens you'll never perfect your mechanics. By the way, who cares if you caught a pro pitcher who throws 91 mph? Highschool catchers who are properly coached are thrown to by machines throwing 100+ from second base or farther. And no, thats not easier, the ball tails all over the place like a motherfucker.
I've caught more showcase bullpens than you can imagine, kid. Trust me when I say that coaches and pitchers want a target to be given prior to every single pitch. There is no point in holding your glove down by your side or moving it around while a pitch is on the way....Give a target, and leave it there. You'll learn this when you try to catch someone who throws better than 90. It's an absolute must that you have a target and hold it still, or you'll get handcuffed.
When catching a bull pen you can give the first target but in a game in NCAA or MLB your target is a decoy and the pitchers need to be able to imagine where the target is and throw the ball there if I set high in that could mean low in or high away. and just so you know try catching 5 to 6 bullpens a day each with 75 pitches and then in NCAA games
go hump yourself humperdink you no nothing about catching a bullpen the pitcher signs the catcher about what pitch it is with the glove and then throws location is handled by the catcher when needed not in a bullpen though
Good to hear from you...cool that you found this video. Where you at now? I was a Wake Forest, until the staff got let go - don't know where next. Keep in touch.
its funny how this guy thinks hes cool catching a senoir citzen and not even tryin then taping it and playing f#$%in pearl jam

Online Battle Royal! Love it!

To be a bull pen session, you could at least give a target. That really pisses a lot of pitchers off.
