@mhatung Not true. An internal supercharger is cooled by air, and in TBI setups they are cooled by fuel. An internal roots style supercharger produces hot boost which is then cooled by an air to water intercooler that is mounted between the intake manifold and the supercharger itself.
wouldnt there be a shit load of friction? yes. that would require a LOT of cooling. more then regular gl-5 synthetic could provide. what application might this be used?
It's a good idea, utilizing the difference in the shape of the cog's width rather than their circumference teeth to achieve all wheels moving in the same direction..I like how instead of using a drill bit style 45 degree cog,you opt for a more organic design.
Now you just need to make molds and produce metal versions..An upgraded version might have spring mounted bearings inlaid..Nice .Good luck with future endeavors.
Los tornillos se aflojan con las vibraciones pues les dan espacio para moverse y la forma en que un tornillo puede moverse es girando hacia afuera. Quiero ver si puede hacerlo igual con tornillos de madera
@BrickMuffin what about them? Helical gears do not slip either. They work exactly the same as spur gears with one exception. they overlap the engage and disengagement of the teeth to allow smoother power transmission and the sharing of the load between more than one set of tooth lands.
@TheKernwhole i know how helical gears work. what i dont understand is what you mean by slip. i dont see how this varies that much from your common helical gear. the only difference here is that your base circle, addendum, and dedendum are all wacked out.
@TechGeek95 because they are not like a normal toothed gear in one spins the opposite direction. they push each other around in the same direction. or you can watch the video reply /watch?v=mxe3Fh0MVeY&feature=watch_response
instead of the drive force transfered in a radial patern, it uses a linear patern perpendicular to the rotational force applied causing the "gears" or "screws" to turn in the same direction... for example; take 2 screws and place them together in opposite directions so that you have one head on each end and roll them both at the same time between your fingers (they both turn the same direction)... this is the same mechanism used in "superchargers"
Screw type vanes are used in air compressors and blowers; do a youboob for "Ingersoll Rand Nirvana Oil Free Rotary Air" for an example (an expensive example).
They're also used in blowers for engines or on the intakes of vacuum pumps.
Easy enough. One worm, two worm, and three worm gears. Center gear is drive, gear on left is 1/2 of center speed, gear on right is 1/3 of center speed. Interesting.
they're all turning the same direction because they're all worm gears, and there's not much friction between them. they also have their teeth/lobes in the same ccw (or cw, depending on which way you think of it) spiral pattern.
Lets says you make it way bigger with hollow parts allowing color changing led lighting with strobe effects glow through the parts, same slow rotation it would be a great wall decoration in a club or lounge .
I love this. The center drives the two side gears, yes? And they are all turning in the same direction, which is normally not possible, yes? It works because the simulated 'tooth" movement is actually from the background towards the foreground instead of right to left or visa versa. Normal tooth movement in gears would be right to left and visa versa. Awesome!!
An actual STARGATE/PORTAL-THING was captured on film. The footage can be found within the short-film entitled "SUDDEN PORTHOLE", which is currently parked at the PROJECT CAMELOT YouTube page (it's under the George Noory video).
