Sweet program man although I have no idea how to get sound out of it, nor any idea to get it into ableton. it's registering the guitar as i can move the offset, velocity etc using the buttons but nothing else
few things to check. 1.) make sure your guitar is plugged in before opening the application. Also, check to see if your guitar is recognized in control panel or system preferences depending if you're on mac or pc. Send me an email if you need help.
does it work with the ps3 conntroller ..? i have loaded loopbe and axis and when i clck a butten on the guitar(axis found it) there is a signal but no tone
@TheLouification Axis is built around the xbox 360 guitar and isn't compatible with ps3 guitars. you might wanna check out miditar hero which is similar but works with different guitars. Or you could track down a 360 guitar if you're after using the tilt sensors and the HUD.
axis just puts out midi, it doesn't make any sound by itself. in the video i'm using it with ableton but there's a potentially infinite number of sounds.
t's still something i intend to do... right now i'm still finding max for live a bit unstable for live use. i think once it's settled down a bit i'll port it over.
at the moment i'm finding the standalone is more flexible/usable.
does this work with a Rock Band controller as well? I managed to install everything and it seems that the LoopBe midicontroller isn't working or that the signals comming from the Rock Band controller doesn't work with the software. I can see the orange signalbuttons flickering though... also I can switch between controll and play mode by pressing START+BACK
@zealtv it's my Xbox360 Rock Band controller. normally it should work, they should be totally compatible. when I hit the HUD I also see the input I do. i'll give it a try with the white "guitar hero" guitar :)
Pretty neat stuff. I'm using a Wii guitar hero controller, also on Mac (using my own software written in Processing rather than max/msp), but I haven't been able to get any tilt sensor or whammy bar information from the driver I'm using (it's called Wiiji). Have you tried using a Wii controller at all, and if so, is the 360 controller any better in terms of driver support?
yeah, i've heard about tilt sensor probs with the wiimote. I haven't experimented my self but i've hear in max using the HI object seems to fix the problem. The 360 drivers are great. better than on pc.
If you wanna check out the axis source lemme know and i'll shoot it over to you.
@zealtv Hmm, yeah I wouldn't mind checking out the source. I'm not too experienced with max/msp - I prefer more traditional programming languages - but it would definitely be interesting to take a look :)
