I'm sorry. This just does not work for me. The Soprano is okay, but Gentile is not right for this repertoire at all. He should be singing Neopolitan songs in a 3rd rate restaurant for tips.

It's the original Leipzig Production with original cast which then traveled to Antwerp. (minus Linda Watson)

It is not slow as Karajan's studio-recording - fortunately!! Great singers (gentile, De Vol), allthoug Gentile sometimes has to "shout". Worst staging ever seen!!!

@petatap Let's not mention Karajan, please. Everytime I hear that name I recall his performances of Wagner in Vienna and vomit!
