As for FOX canceling Firefly. Hey, it at least kept the series from ever jumping the shark. You have to think of the bright side. ;)

since i didnt just look but also listened, she's right and SGU tried to reproduce that in some way (drama-sci-fi), except in SGU they just went too far - first the actors didn't belong that well together sometimes (in Firefly they're clearly very familly-like), then .. SGU forgot about the actual sci-fi and fights. Firefly has fighting action every single episode. that and the "madmax style" (or western if you will, aka mixing sci-fi and old stuff) is what makes it fun and different to watch
