fucking badass...i remember a few years ago when i heard sombre romantic i went to my local cd store and they had to special order it cause couldnt find it anywhere in dayton...glad i did that album rocks and the albums have only gotten better from that point on
...And then a light appeared, letting fall into the abyss the truth, but an unknown power was coming from an spilled blood over the earth, those pure drops had been shed for salvation, despite some of us embraced black wings to ask for redemption with a hammer,...light is not for us, the light is black...
@erydiam ,Well , Without darkness there's no light .. Why hae light without darkness? Everything has a meaning to pay attention to the signs .. I bet you have no idea what i'm talking about right ? But trust me one day you will if you have questions about darkness.
Now that depends on what your talking about. If its religious , then you might.. have a point .. because according to the bible lucifer means ''light'' if your talking about solitude then your wrong , because solitude means light if you understand what im trying to say , if your stuck in second gear in solitude , that means your to blind to see.
I.m not offending anyone so no stupid comments plz.
Instead you'll see my philosophical point of antagonist nihil art...
have you seen an eclipse over the world of man...ok ..this eclipse is over the spiritual world of mankind...get it! ...even though the light is black for all with faith...
Who the hell cares about wether music is christian or satanic?! You can't force your beliefs on somebody! And that goes for christians and satanists alike, as well as followers of any other religion. Just accept that we all choose different paths in life and focus on the music, people!
Music is just a means for expressing ideas. Are you saying that you don't think Christians should be able to express their ideas through metal? Among other things (like bigotry), that, taken to its logical conclusion, would mean obstructing freedom speech.
Personally I think we need more Christian bands in metal, because the mainstream Christian music deals with surface-level issues and pretty much nothing more. Most metal artists take music and lyrics pretty seriously.

You just don't get it. Christianity has no place in metal because metal has ALWAYS been against Christianity till a bunch of dumbass sellout Christians were like "Hey we can spread our lies and make money at the same time while pissing a bunch of people off"
That's absolutely false. Metal has never been against Christianity. Certain bands, yes, but the "Satanism" that some metal bands espouse isn't really Satanism at all; it's pulled straight out of H. P. Lovecraft's short stories. Lovecraft himself said that real Satanism is boring.
Case in point: Metallica has several songs that pull DIRECTLY from Lovecraft. The Call of Ktulu, The Thing that Should Not Be, and I'm sure plenty of others. The "evil" part of metal is just horror fiction.
Furthermore, being a Christian musician myself (and yes, I play metal), I can tell you that your picture of why people like me play metal is 100% off. The reason I play metal is...
1. I find it challenging
2. I find it much more expressive than most other genres
3. My ideas on Christianity don't fit into a fluffy-puff alternative rock setting
Notice that none of those included "selling out" or "pissing people off". If I wanted to sell out, I wouldn't go into metal, because it doesn't sell.
@cda1117 I can´t agree with you more. I myself do have my center of belief based in chrisianity and I also play metal, and the genre itself (no subgenres please) do hold a deeper possibility of expresion that can´t be found in more mainstream types of music, not saying pop is crap, but in my ears it is. I play both drums an guitar and yes both are very challeging to play metal on, but not only due to speed and such, since I belive the feeling still needs to be present in the riffs/beats
Someone I know mailed Virgin Black about it. They told her the picture was the last in row, and that there is a progression in the three pictures on the cd covers. It turns out the corpse on the cross here is the same woman we see on Mezzo Forte. I guess on Pianissimo we will see her in perfect condition or something like that.
Great, Virgin Black!! they are unblack Gothic metal, the true light is in darkness, God is powerful and is a dark mystery, Jesus the Messiah, God bless you!
Modern Christianity needs to take a long, hard stare into the evil that surrounds us. We're too busy isolating ourselves from every possible idea that we freak out the second someone challenges our pathetic little bubble.
@cda1117 You sir, have got shit figured out. Its true. Religion has locked itself in an area far set away from reality, but that area is being threatened by reality now, and they need to see that. Blindness will only get them through so many struggles....the best are yet to come.
This is awesome..but, I dont understand one thing, why dont they put the Requiems (Mezzo Forte and Fortissimo [is there a piano?]) into the releases (on the official site)?
Virgin Black is the epitome of musical genius and skill! Awesome live show and Rowan and Samantha are great people! I have met them in person and they made me feel like a friend more than a fan. Awesome!
Whoever said this was a bad album must be really out of their fucking mindas it's virgin balck at its' best i mean come on how can a guttural voice mixed with such a good performed musica be rated as bad!!!
The album arrived yesterday, and may I confirm that it is fantastic. Far more brutal than I had expected, but excellently mournful from start to finish. After half a dozen listens, it's got potential to be album of the year...
