Yeah, it supports PS1 games.

The first versions of the PS3 also support most of the PS2 games too, but the latest versions do not support any ps2 games. The ps2 engine is ''too pricy for the ps3'' according Sony.

Anyway, you can buy the PS1 Spyro games from the PSN store for a small price. I think they're available for purchase only in the USA and Asia ( from the PSN store) but not in Europe & Australia. I live in Europe, but I have the discs so no problem

@TheKnight447 It would have been awesome, but Universal Interactive, the jerks they are, rushed them to finish it by '02. Gnasty Gnorc was even supposed to actually be in the game! That ridiculously easy and surprisingly obvious swimming in air glitch was actually pretty fun, though.

I know it's mainly being done with Playstation 2 games, but they should re-master the first 3 Spyro games in HD like their doing with the Sly Cooper Collection!! I would be the first to buy that, no doubt in my mind. The first 3 Spyro games were the best ever to come out. I don't think anyone can disagree.
