@AlisTaiRS94 I don't think hollywood was originally called hollywoodland, but the sign used to say "hollywoodland" when it was first put up, because it was a promotional sign for the new homes first being developed in the hollywood hills, and they called the development hollywoodland. After awhile the "land" part was gone but the hollywood section remained as the hollywood landmark of today.
