How is it illegal, when stewarts deemed it legal in Australia? and races after that, and was successfully deemed legal after a court hearing? You sound very bitter to not have your team winning me thinks...
It was Toyota AND Williams, apart from Brawn, with those diffusers - which were objectionable to the others, yet F1 ruled them legal. Not to mention that Ross Brawn had been asking for clarifications since 2008, which nobody cared enough to give.
Lmao what a sour lil bitch you are, your team not do too well this year then and your finding excuses for your denial that Brawn are actually a good team? Good stuff
howdy ... good to hear that your comments on webber are true he is doing his best this year with what hes got... a true racer / fighter ...as you can hear iam a mark webber suporter and i hope the fia dont stuff up f1 next year... keep up the good work cheers :)
I didn´t enjoy the Spanish gp much because it´s usually boring race with no overtaking - if the driver just goes defensive on the pit straight he is safe for the rest of the lap - 4 example kimi vs heidfeld. I don´t want to blame anybody but it looked like a planned team strategy that helped Button to win the race. We´ll see in the next few races if Rubens is really number 2 or not. Anyway thanks for those vids and I´m looking forward to see your Monaco GP review :-)
Victoria, thank you for pointing me this way! Great so see others with a love of the sport and I look forward to reading/seeing what you all have to say! F1 being the third love of my life.... after the wife and MotoGP ;)
'I am not sure what the hand gestures were about?'
I am not sure it was worthy of comment was it?
I started watching when Jake, Jordan and DC were stood in front of a pit garage and Jordan was on about suspending someone. I assumed they were on about the McLaren witch hunt as was surprised to learn it was about one person.
I think you should just watch the Murray Walker preview that says until Alonso they weren't into F1. That may give some context?
Good summary of the race, and Button drove a consistent fast pace. Rubens lost the race on his third set of tyres and just was not quick enough. Personally I do not think next years refuel ban will change strategy to much, if it happens. As years ago the strategy will still exist in tyre pit stops.
Yes, agree, Jenson deservedly won his fourth GP of the season, through a good revised strategy, and as usual, really good race pace (Q3) very impressive ! (as was Massa and Webber) the podium and minor points were hard earned. Ferrari' could be a major force mid season onwards ( they could be "the" surprise package at Monaco ?)
I think you could be right about Monaco. Although Brawn seems to think the car has what it takes for that track. I'd like to see Button and Massa fighting it out.
Good strategy has always been critical to success in F1, not sure if its more important now, than it was, say 20 years ago, in the era of Senna Prost Mansell etc, things seemed just the same ,"tight". Next years refuelling ban, the whole race on one tankful sounds "pants !" bloated, stodgy cars ! frustrated drivers, not good.
Is a 40M FIA cap really necessary ?, a freeze on engine development (or a standard engine), standard KERS, no in race refuelling, testing limits, maybe less chassis development, less aero, tyres form one supplier costs are coming down anyway ?.
Has Toyota ever achieved anything ? will they achieve anything ? will they be missed, if they choose to leave F1 ? good question.
Looking forwards to seeing your Monaco Video/blog !
Ta for watching... very good point about Toyota, there seems to be many with that point of view. I like the idea of less money, less restrictions... but you're right, are those restrictions really being stripped away for 2010? I need to get into the rule changes.
maybe they sholud eliminate all the electronic helps (traction control above all), so budgets would be less important than the skills of the pilot, just like it was before (golden era of f1...), when the williams could win, too
I think, that FIA shouldn`t change the budgets. F1 should be a Quin of motor sport. The best, the fastest, best materials, engines. They want new teams in F1 (which can`t afford to join it now)? Why? Do F1 nead some teams that we never heard? or the biggest most famous like we have now?
But does the most money mean the best? I guess the development costs more than anything are hugely important. Maybe we'll get back some of the older traditional teams who were priced out of the game?
No fuel stops is great thats what they should have done in 05 instead of same tyres for the race. So now the passing has to be done on track and not in the pits.
Also if Toyota do pull the plug does that mean Williams have no engine deal?
That footage of the fan was on the bbc site yesterday take a look may still be there
Fernando was eating cheese before practice/qualifying/race. Why would he do that? Its something he likes, but surely its going to make him uncomfortable in the car. Is it some sort of psychological boost. Maybe if he didn't eat all that cheese that weekend Webber wouldn't have gotten past him.
Monaco had better bring something different, b/c this season is turning out to be a snoozey except for the first few laps. (what a crash that first turn wreck turned out to be!)
Plus, Barrichello getting black balled by his team owner, in order to support Button made me angry. It didn't matter how hard Rubens drove, his strategy was planned out for him to finish behind Jenson! ugh. I agree, it's strategy that is winning along with Brawn's aerodynamics.
It pains me to watch all the struggling teams.. b/c this year was supposed to be all but even between the manufacturers, and it's had the opposite result that F1 Management thought it would.
I laughed a lot during this race, every time Alonso passed the grandstands, the fans stood up and cheered haha. I bet the fans were more exhausted after the race than the drivers! haha
However, what a shame for Massa and the fuel problems.. has Ferrari lost their edge?
I read somwhere that lola wants back into f1,as for no fuel stops next year brilliant just like the good old days with 220 litres of fuel strapped to your behind
For me, i am having mixed feelings on banning fuel stops for next season. The races will just be emphasized on the car's performance and the drivers ability. It will get rid of fuel strategies which has been quite exciting for the past few years - races have been won and lost from fuel strategies.
After 5 races this season, cars lap times are closer than have ever been and yet Brawn are leading the chm'ship by nearly 30 points. Luckily the medal scoring system wasnt introduced.
As for the fan negatively portraying hamilton, i didnt see that for the US coverage, but there was some issues between alonso and hamilton when they were back at Mclaren, so im sure any hardcore Alonso fan would still carry that over. Also im not sure if this was mentioned in the BBC coverage, but i had heard that Ecclestone said their might actually be 2 new f1 teams coming from the US for next year. Although i have my doubts to this, could be interesting.
Yeah this past race was definetly one of the less exciting ones Ive seen. To be honest Im already fed up with the Brawn team. I dont believe i am alone in saying that i watch F1 to see the likes of Ferrari, Mclaren and BMW battle it out for the win. Being a huge Mclaren fan Heikki Kovalainen has become a massive dissapointment. When hes not suffering from bad luck hes simply way off pace and is just bringing an already struggling team down even further.
One of the drivers that should be racing in F1 not just this season but for the past few years is Pedro De La Rosa. He is one of the smoothest and reliable drivers around. He has the talent and capability to race, which he showed a few seasons back making a move on Schumacher in Hungary.
For me, he lies within the best 10 drivers in the current grid. He shouldnt be at the paddock gathering and processing data. He should be racing aiming for points and podium places.
Pedro de la cheat more like,he only made the move on schumacher because dela cheat was on dry tyres and schumacher stayed out on inters,he should stick to testing oh yes he does lol.
I like watching your vids but I mustn`t read your comments , I just cant stand all everyone sucking on JB`s ass , I would like to see him lose the championship now just so I could laugh at the poms with their heads stuck so far up JB`s bottom sufucate ....
race was too boring....and that "strategy" for Barichello(i dont remember how to spell him) really sucked..it rememberd me when he was team8 of schumacher and those "strategys"happened very often then...he should won the race was amazing for his age to still race like that...
button or vettel for championship...vettel got shafted for the whole race by massa...just see what webber came up with...me ?? well i`m off to monaco next week then silverstone in june...can`t wait...
button, but vettel not far off. Vettel is hilarious. Did you hear the rumour that a journalist asked him if winning his first grand prix was the best day of his life? Vettel turned round and said 'you weren't there when I lost my virginity...' I love funny Germans..... :)
think i'm gonna go down the bookies and put money on button winning the championship, he's just completely dialled now in that car, fantastic car and a fantastic driver
The way he took pole position straight after the comments about Barrichello being dialled in! I had fingers and toes crossed and jumped out the seat the same time as Jensen's dad!!!
I think Brawn deserve the benefit of the doubt on this occasion. Rubens was so angry because he knows if the gap between him and Jensen goes about 20 points, Brawn will start to focus on him. The next few races are crucial for Barrichello. Also interesting will be the Vettel Webber duel.
I know I sound like a cynic, but it was awfully handy that that strategy change worked out for Button. I do believe Brawn when he says they are on equal footing though...
Yer i found the race quite a good start but after that just died down. Was annoyed that button won AGAIN as it is becoming to commen, but the next race will show how good the drivers are and how much they rely on pitting as it could be the hardest track of F1, cant wait for it. I would like to her what you think of nelson P for renault because i what to see what other peoples views are on him performance
I think Nelson P will be out. The problem is, he's up against one of the best drivers in the business who can get more out of the car than it can deliver. Alonso shows him up... he's the Kovalanien to the Hamilton, y'know?
Ferrari is a shame, all we saw that. Meanwhile, great race for BrawnGP, if the cirmcunstances are regular from here to the last race, they will win the championship. Button drives well, as Mika Hakkinen in 1998, but without the best car, is only a regular driver, as Fisichella and Trulli, for example.
I hope Vettel could challenge them more, He's not too far of this. Barrichello has to do more than he is doing today, he must be leading the table.
100% agree, I don't think he could get as much out of the Renault or Mclaren like Hamilton or Alsonso for example. I think Vettel could strike back late in the season, don't write him off yet :)
I think Schu still would have been Schu; you don't just win 7 world titles by coincidence, and yes while he did have a lot of luck, one thing Schu consistently did was outperform his teammates. Brundle was no match for him, and I doubt Jean Todt would have favoured Schu if Irvine/Barrichello were fundamentally faster...
It was phenomenal that move, I didn't expect it at all... I think the lack of refuelling will make for some interesting tyre choices. But personally, I like it, it's part of the strategy, put it's all part of an economy drive I guess :(
Anyway rant over. I thought it was very strange how Brawn changed strategy... and I personally think that the team maybe in favour of Jenson.
as far as McLaren go.... it's evident to me that they have built a fundamentally flawed car and the upgrades just haven't worked at all. As Obama would say, if you put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig. McLaren are going to have to either build a B-spec car ASAP or they'll have to scrap this year's campaign altogether and just concentrate on 2010
to qwerti2002..........i like your enthousiasm and i hope more people like you speak out with passion.......but until then i will will continue to be a -ve prick so please el spanardos SHOW ME THE LOVE FOR BLACK PEOPLE or show how ignorant you are THE CHOICE IS YOURS!!!!!
I'm a civil servant. I'm treating everyday with people from the whole world (bout labour rights as arbitrator, and people from East Europe, Africa, Asia and America came here looking for a job; I'm to serve them, no matter their origins). For me "respect" is the word of reference in my live... Read the 14th article of our "Constitucion".
I repeat, judging a whole country 4 a man who's playing the fool, isn't a xenophobic action? In the anglo world, Spain is prejudiced always, it hurts me.
I agree completely I don't think you can judge all the Spanish on one complete idiot. The passion at that race for F1 from the Spanish fans was something special...
if im not mistaken, the onboard shows that massa didnt use kers, which really pissed me off because he could have been leading but what we can say is that FERARRI ARE FINALLY BACK
and kimi "should" win at monaco, well i hope it does
also i wanted barichello to win, he deserves a win and ikinda dofeel sorry for him for what jaun todt put him through
I believe your right Miss. With the car/team package getting closer in the timings it's increasingly harder to ovrtake on the track. So, if they take the refueling (and tyre changing?) pitstops away is there a danger of no position changing at all during a race? The only races to look forward to are in wet conditions?
Although I would miss you, I wouldn't bother watching. How about Shumacher as team principal? Knock the red team back into shape?!! They need it!
as for the racism....its never clever and what always gets on my tits is the amount of people who join in and it does not paint a pretty picture of the spanish fans or you could say people in general, so come on! you have an obligation to kick it out or maybe you dont care....time will tell wont it!!!!!!
F1 don't give a damn about the racist behaviour of the Spaniards, if they did they would have taken strong action against the lamentable racist behavioiur of said Spaniards last year. They didn't.
i kind of feel sorry for rubens because from his point of view he must be wondering how brawn favoured button for the win so it will be interesting to see if he feels like following team orders in future.
rant over lol! oh by the way did anyone think mark webber was really gaunt looking this weekend? this loosing weight to get the car weight down has gone too far
oh and will people stop going on about kimi for eating icecreams all the time, whats wrong with it? at least he isnt a PR robot programmed to say and do exactly what his team want him too.... cough cough lewis hamilton! i remember when a driver (think it was either hill or coulthard) retired from the monaco gp and got out of the car and walked straight into one of the bars and had a pint. thats how it should be done!! although kimi doing a vienetta advert would be hillarious ;)
oh please. what annoys me about raikkonen fans is their praise and worship for every little insignificant thing he does OFF track, it's incredibily annoying. unfortunately, PR stuff is part of the sport now, and honestly, why should that be a problem? I wouldn't even call Hamilton a PR robot, that's just BS made by people with selective hearing, didn't you see after the race? Hamilton seemed evidently furious at the lack of pace the McLaren had and even went as far as to blame the team for it..
The robot stuff is more a result of his non reaction to the (seemingly) continuous polemia which surrounded him last year. I don't think he can be accused of this now!
right first of all quit with the insults theres no need for it and insulting someone over youtube is incredibly immature, i have my opinions and you have yours surely adults can discuss a matter without insulting one another.
anyway, one thing i should have said is that i am a massive hamilton fan and what i said about his PR machine behaviour is true of nearly all the drivers my point about raikkonen is that it makes a nice change to hear someone say and do what he likes (webber is another)
So clearly, Hamilton does what he wants, when he wants. You know what's really pathetic about your comment? It's that Hamilton shows himself ON track. Would a robot fight like he did in Silverstone last year? Belgium last year? Australia this year? I think not. Well I specifically remember Lewis saying that he would 'like a beer' after his water dispenser stopped working in Malaysia 2008. Again, that is your selective memory working.
F1 is a sport, not a "who can make a prat of himself" contest.
However you are right hamilton was very critical yesterday of the car, unfortunatly i have only just watched that interview so didnt know when i wrote those comments.
a thing that really annoys me is when in an interview the first thing a driver says is i would like to thank the team (then lists most of the sponsors) i understand this is part of it now and to do it say occasionaly after actually doing well it would be politeness from the drivers, but its not its PR crap they are forced to say
i'm usually indifferent to raikkonen, but his fans are such that i find it hard for myself to wish him any success, though i did feel sympathy yesterday after he retired during the grand prix. don't go posting crap like that again, please...
rantback over! since you also seem to be a hamilton fan what do you think about his relationship with mclaren? ithink if the car doesnt improve he could be looking for a way out, i think loosing ron dennis will have been a huge blow to him im sure he said at one point he is like a second father. i think mclaren will go through a period like ferrari are now (after jean todt leaving) + i dont like martin whitmarsh anyway theres something about him!
(sorry rant still not over!!) each type of engine has its advantages and disadvantages (who remembers the ferrari v12s? devestatingly fast on the straight bits but drank like there was no tomorrow) and it would be great to see what each team goes for (not to mention getting to hear that ferrari v12 again).
the only risk is that whereas the grid is farily close performance wise at the moment allowing more of a margin for innovation could result in domination by 1 or 2 teams
that way teams will engineer their way out of trouble rather than spend their way, that way we get too see the class and talent of the men that design these cars not the ones that have enough money to perfect them, as i think it was amrtin brundle said innovation is cheap optimisation is expensive and due to the rules all the teams can do is optimise.
i would also like to see the engine rules changed, i would like to see a mixture of v8s v10s and v12s or whatever, disadvantages
i think that the no refueling next year will be a great thing, it has become a strategy game its bad when a car is following another yet is "not racing against it"
i have recently been watching the 1990 & 91 season review and it was so much better when drivers could go fast and wreck their tyres then back off or pit for more then see them flying back up thru the field again.
i also think the budget cost is a good thing as long as they open up the rules a lot more (like they say there going to)
I found this looking for Webber's potty mouth. Interesting. When I heard 'actually' a few times I was reminded of Hazel 'You know' Blears. Try to drop the 'You knows'? - Why would it be a shame if Toyota left F1? FoS 2007 50 yrs of Toyota in M/Sport. F1 isn't a money maker! Bernie invented the money sucking hoover before Dyson did! Racist Spaniards? There is obvious attacks on Hamilton all over the web that are to do with his race. Not all racists are white. Indian Caste system? Chav & racism?
BMW pretty much screwed Vettels championship chances this year when they are almost single handedly to be blamed for forcing through the annoying KERS for 09 and thereby denying us a great fight for the title. I think its save to say that Button has won it already this year with Vettel 18 points adrift now and his teammate Barrichelo obviously not allowed to race with him anyway.
i think F1 went through all the trouble of changing the rules radically and yet we coudn't see any overtaking during the spanish grand prix. i think it's even worst this year because it doesn't seem it is down to the drivers anymore, its down to strategy and tire choices and management. this is very dissapointing.
it's not a fair gid of race cars, some of them with KERs others not ,and some cars have a better diffuser or package than other cars. So, i feel it does't make any sense watching F1
I come here mostly because this is (surprisingly) the most intelligent place to discuss F1 on the net. Yes she is pretty, but I am happily taken thank you :p.
Also I think Vettel was not well served by his team. They should have short-fueled him at the first stop to get him past Massa, then he would have come in third, not Webber.
Ross Brawn is really an amazing strategist, he changed his drivers positions with few suspects from everybody, did he fool you? The only reason to go for a 3 pitstops strategy was to avoid hard tires (2 secs slower) as long as they can, but in the end, barrichello did run almost 20 laps with hard tires, the strategy was planned to not work properly and to put him behind Jenson. I am sorry to say that, but lately English teams became expert in turn the F1 into a big joke.
You're right, you could see how the strategy—or rather the tactical decisions made during the race—were going to play out from the first stop. Since Barrichello took command of the race from the start, I have to say he got screwed by Brawn when they left him on a three-stop, even though they all insist they thought the three-stopper was the faster way to go.
that is the first time i've seen a useless switch to a 3 stop strategy when u have the lead and lapping faster with a heavier fuel load. It can't be that obviouse. here we go again the Mclaren british driver favortism story. Brawn and Mclaren are like the 2 Ass cheaks within the same pant. That is why i never liked the british F1 teams and will never like. Barrichelo has a shot for the title and they r trying to make only British. F1 is shit these days
Another Quality report victoria, good work. firstly the move between Alonso & Webber has to get move of the season, 2nd Im not big on the new turns added for the GP, they are somewhat fiddly & do not flow with the rest of the track they could do with revising. 3rd no refuelling, will this result on harder tires being used more, less stops overall, people running longer, if so it would make, monaco, spain & hungry a precession, making overtaking due to pit stops even harder. What are your views?
I can`t beleive Barrichello has become a second driver once again , I would of thought he had enought of that driving with Shumacher . To me its clear Barrichello got fucked by Brawn with that 3 stop stragedy , the only driver I think to do that . Button is quicker anyway and the English team obviously wants to take care of their boy , If I was Barrichello I would retire before the next race and go back to brazil and improve his handicap , who knows we might see Rubens win PGA tournament
Great review once again! Im hoping Ferrari can keep up their resurgence in Monaco but I doubt they will better this weekend's performance. C'mon Kimi, show Eddie Jordan how commited you are!!
I think Ferrari will end up mid field for most of the season... improved, but not delivering podiums each week. Eddie Jordan really has it in for Kimi doesn't he!
Awesome report again. Thought you may have a rant about Bernie's comments about 'F1 would be OK with Ferrari' or something like that... Must be the riduculous comment of the week!!
Great race for Alonso. He was lucky because of another Ferrari cock-up but still outperformed the renault car.
On the point you made about the racism, lets face it, it still exists. Just because a couple of Alonso fans watching out 100,000 made stupid racist remarks towards Hamilton does not 'tarnish' Alonsos reputation. This is similar to a couple of months ago, where some of the Spurs crowd made racists remarks towards Sol Campbell.
well done jenso. now SUTIL should be banned for cutting the corner and re-entering the track 3 places forward. no attempt to slow down and (not overtake). ban him.p.s. it wasnt strategy it was driver performance. thanks.
I expect he will stay, but it will be interesting to see how well he copes with Mclaren's lack of competitiveness as the season goes on....especially given his (supposed) lack of popularity within Mclaren.
I dont think its over for them yet. Its still jut 5 races out of 17.
It can seriously still turn around.
Hamilton is losing faith though as is Ferrari.
Schumacher has been there before remember during the tire waars. There was a season when the bridgestones just flat out SUCKED. And Schumacher never gave up.
Same with his last race. I just hope he has the same tenacity.
That said it is very disheartening to watch him drive the car beyond its limit for nothing.
I would disagree - watching him drive that car beyond it's limit, is inspiring for me. It proves to all those critics what a phenomenal driver he is, how much he cares and what he can deliver.... alonso has the same skill... button is brilliant in a great car, but I'm not sure he has the same ability in a bad one.
i woud have to disagree hun, i have always been a button fan, always have said that if he was given a better car he would be up there. i personaly think they should put button and hamilton in the same team imagine the marketing for that and mr brawn and branson
Ah, your Spanish, makes more sense now, sorry. Yes, i said it due to your countries past carlist stronghold, which led to the rise of fascism and the spanish civil war, i don't know if remanances of this live on in Spain today, i know the CNT-FAI still exists, so i suspected remanences of the opposite existed.
I was trying to write a "non rude" answer with my english.
That foto doesn't have to be about carlist or franquist remanances (if you can find 3 "carlistas" in one year you're lucky; there's still little remanaces of franquism, most of them are elder).
The man in the foto: He can be an idiot, a racist, both of them... but I know a think he isn't, he is not a whole country, he doesn't represent my country.
Well, but the main question was your message, I was 1/2 wrong.
Your commentary would be better with less talk and more tits....FYI

maybe they sholud eliminate all the electronic helps (traction control above all), so budgets would be less important than the skills of the pilot, just like it was before (golden era of f1...), when the williams could win, too

FanCastTV 2 years ago
I think, that FIA shouldn`t change the budgets. F1 should be a Quin of motor sport. The best, the fastest, best materials, engines. They want new teams in F1 (which can`t afford to join it now)? Why? Do F1 nead some teams that we never heard? or the biggest most famous like we have now?
bf5r75645erv6t5y 2 years ago
But does the most money mean the best? I guess the development costs more than anything are hugely important. Maybe we'll get back some of the older traditional teams who were priced out of the game?

No fuel stops is great thats what they should have done in 05 instead of same tyres for the race. So now the passing has to be done on track and not in the pits.
Also if Toyota do pull the plug does that mean Williams have no engine deal?

Fernando was eating cheese before practice/qualifying/race. Why would he do that? Its something he likes, but surely its going to make him uncomfortable in the car. Is it some sort of psychological boost. Maybe if he didn't eat all that cheese that weekend Webber wouldn't have gotten past him.

I didn't see that, but genius.
Alonso - "what is your favourite cheese?"

Monaco had better bring something different, b/c this season is turning out to be a snoozey except for the first few laps. (what a crash that first turn wreck turned out to be!)
rdbextreme 2 years ago
Plus, Barrichello getting black balled by his team owner, in order to support Button made me angry. It didn't matter how hard Rubens drove, his strategy was planned out for him to finish behind Jenson! ugh. I agree, it's strategy that is winning along with Brawn's aerodynamics.
It pains me to watch all the struggling teams.. b/c this year was supposed to be all but even between the manufacturers, and it's had the opposite result that F1 Management thought it would.
rdbextreme 2 years ago
It does feel like Brawn are giving Jenson the advantage. I bet Brawn will be keen to show that's not the case now.
FanCastTV 2 years ago
Yes perhaps but Barrichello has had 4 races already to outperform Button, and he hasn't...
tnralliart2600 2 years ago
I laughed a lot during this race, every time Alonso passed the grandstands, the fans stood up and cheered haha. I bet the fans were more exhausted after the race than the drivers! haha
However, what a shame for Massa and the fuel problems.. has Ferrari lost their edge?

I read somwhere that lola wants back into f1,as for no fuel stops next year brilliant just like the good old days with 220 litres of fuel strapped to your behind
markjason123 2 years ago
For me, i am having mixed feelings on banning fuel stops for next season. The races will just be emphasized on the car's performance and the drivers ability. It will get rid of fuel strategies which has been quite exciting for the past few years - races have been won and lost from fuel strategies.
After 5 races this season, cars lap times are closer than have ever been and yet Brawn are leading the chm'ship by nearly 30 points. Luckily the medal scoring system wasnt introduced.
jez1808 2 years ago
Me too, I can't decide if it's a good or bad thing. They just need to get rid of this idea of a winner takes all system - that I don't agree with.
FanCastTV 2 years ago
Then again, the ban on refueling would not mean that there wont be any pit action during races as there would still be pitting for tyre changes.
jez1808 2 years ago
yes, but then we wouldn't have incidents like the drivers going off with the fuel hose still on lol...
FanCastTV 2 years ago
I heard that too about Lola.

Although i have my doubts to this, could be interesting.
g0ing2n0where 2 years ago
I wonder if they would bring back a US race too?
FanCastTV 2 years ago
Yeah this past race was definetly one of the less exciting ones Ive seen. To be honest Im already fed up with the Brawn team. I dont believe i am alone in saying that i watch F1 to see the likes of Ferrari, Mclaren and BMW battle it out for the win. Being a huge Mclaren fan Heikki Kovalainen has become a massive dissapointment. When hes not suffering from bad luck hes simply way off pace and is just bringing an already struggling team down even further.
g0ing2n0where 2 years ago
I know.... Heikki has been quite disappointing. If I had three drivers out next season it would probably be him, Piquet and Nakajima.
FanCastTV 2 years ago
One of the drivers that should be racing in F1 not just this season but for the past few years is Pedro De La Rosa. He is one of the smoothest and reliable drivers around. He has the talent and capability to race, which he showed a few seasons back making a move on Schumacher in Hungary.
For me, he lies within the best 10 drivers in the current grid. He shouldnt be at the paddock gathering and processing data. He should be racing aiming for points and podium places.
jez1808 2 years ago
Pedro de la cheat more like,he only made the move on schumacher because dela cheat was on dry tyres and schumacher stayed out on inters,he should stick to testing oh yes he does lol.

I would like to her what you think of nelson P for renault because i what to see what other peoples views are on him performance
AceJoeyBling 2 years ago
I think Nelson P will be out. The problem is, he's up against one of the best drivers in the business who can get more out of the car than it can deliver. Alonso shows him up... he's the Kovalanien to the Hamilton, y'know?

FanCastTV 2 years ago
Ferrari is a shame, all we saw that. Meanwhile, great race for BrawnGP, if the cirmcunstances are regular from here to the last race, they will win the championship. Button drives well, as Mika Hakkinen in 1998, but without the best car, is only a regular driver, as Fisichella and Trulli, for example.
I hope Vettel could challenge them more, He's not too far of this. Barrichello has to do more than he is doing today, he must be leading the table.
MSx91 2 years ago

I believe your right Miss. With the car/team package getting closer in the timings it's increasingly harder to ovrtake on the track. So, if they take the refueling (and tyre changing?) pitstops away is there a danger of no position changing at all during a race? The only races to look forward to are in wet conditions?
Although I would miss you, I wouldn't bother watching. How about Shumacher as team principal? Knock the red team back into shape?!! They need it!

oh and will people stop going on about kimi for eating icecreams all the time, whats wrong with it? at least he isnt a PR robot programmed to say and do exactly what his team want him too.... cough cough lewis hamilton! i remember when a driver (think it was either hill or coulthard) retired from the monaco gp and got out of the car and walked straight into one of the bars and had a pint. thats how it should be done!! although kimi doing a vienetta advert would be hillarious ;)
shazmeister2005 2 years ago
oh please. what annoys me about raikkonen fans is their praise and worship for every little insignificant thing he does OFF track, it's incredibily annoying. unfortunately, PR stuff is part of the sport now, and honestly, why should that be a problem? I wouldn't even call Hamilton a PR robot, that's just BS made by people with selective hearing, didn't you see after the race? Hamilton seemed evidently furious at the lack of pace the McLaren had and even went as far as to blame the team for it..
shoemichael 2 years ago
The robot stuff is more a result of his non reaction to the (seemingly) continuous polemia which surrounded him last year. I don't think he can be accused of this now!
Carfer22 2 years ago
right first of all quit with the insults theres no need for it and insulting someone over youtube is incredibly immature, i have my opinions and you have yours surely adults can discuss a matter without insulting one another.
anyway, one thing i should have said is that i am a massive hamilton fan and what i said about his PR machine behaviour is true of nearly all the drivers my point about raikkonen is that it makes a nice change to hear someone say and do what he likes (webber is another)
shazmeister2005 2 years ago
So clearly, Hamilton does what he wants, when he wants. You know what's really pathetic about your comment? It's that Hamilton shows himself ON track. Would a robot fight like he did in Silverstone last year? Belgium last year? Australia this year? I think not. Well I specifically remember Lewis saying that he would 'like a beer' after his water dispenser stopped working in Malaysia 2008. Again, that is your selective memory working.
F1 is a sport, not a "who can make a prat of himself" contest.
shoemichael 2 years ago
However you are right hamilton was very critical yesterday of the car, unfortunatly i have only just watched that interview so didnt know when i wrote those comments.
a thing that really annoys me is when in an interview the first thing a driver says is i would like to thank the team (then lists most of the sponsors) i understand this is part of it now and to do it say occasionaly after actually doing well it would be politeness from the drivers, but its not its PR crap they are forced to say
shazmeister2005 2 years ago
Australia this year??? Would a robot lie to stewards?
tnralliart2600 2 years ago
i'm usually indifferent to raikkonen, but his fans are such that i find it hard for myself to wish him any success, though i did feel sympathy yesterday after he retired during the grand prix. don't go posting crap like that again, please...

rantback over! since you also seem to be a hamilton fan what do you think about his relationship with mclaren? ithink if the car doesnt improve he could be looking for a way out, i think loosing ron dennis will have been a huge blow to him im sure he said at one point he is like a second father. i think mclaren will go through a period like ferrari are now (after jean todt leaving) + i dont like martin whitmarsh anyway theres something about him!
shazmeister2005 2 years ago
no i'm a schumacher fan
shoemichael 2 years ago
(sorry rant still not over!!) each type of engine has its advantages and disadvantages (who remembers the ferrari v12s? devestatingly fast on the straight bits but drank like there was no tomorrow) and it would be great to see what each team goes for (not to mention getting to hear that ferrari v12 again).
the only risk is that whereas the grid is farily close performance wise at the moment allowing more of a margin for innovation could result in domination by 1 or 2 teams
shazmeister2005 2 years ago
that way teams will engineer their way out of trouble rather than spend their way, that way we get too see the class and talent of the men that design these cars not the ones that have enough money to perfect them, as i think it was amrtin brundle said innovation is cheap optimisation is expensive and due to the rules all the teams can do is optimise.
i would also like to see the engine rules changed, i would like to see a mixture of v8s v10s and v12s or whatever, disadvantages
shazmeister2005 2 years ago
i think that the no refueling next year will be a great thing, it has become a strategy game its bad when a car is following another yet is "not racing against it"
i have recently been watching the 1990 & 91 season review and it was so much better when drivers could go fast and wreck their tyres then back off or pit for more then see them flying back up thru the field again.
i also think the budget cost is a good thing as long as they open up the rules a lot more (like they say there going to)
shazmeister2005 2 years ago
I found this looking for Webber's potty mouth. Interesting. When I heard 'actually' a few times I was reminded of Hazel 'You know' Blears. Try to drop the 'You knows'? - Why would it be a shame if Toyota left F1? FoS 2007 50 yrs of Toyota in M/Sport. F1 isn't a money maker! Bernie invented the money sucking hoover before Dyson did! Racist Spaniards? There is obvious attacks on Hamilton all over the web that are to do with his race. Not all racists are white. Indian Caste system? Chav & racism?
BoiledBunny 2 years ago
BMW pretty much screwed Vettels championship chances this year when they are almost single handedly to be blamed for forcing through the annoying KERS for 09 and thereby denying us a great fight for the title. I think its save to say that Button has won it already this year with Vettel 18 points adrift now and his teammate Barrichelo obviously not allowed to race with him anyway.
oldandmoderntimes 2 years ago
i think F1 went through all the trouble of changing the rules radically and yet we coudn't see any overtaking during the spanish grand prix. i think it's even worst this year because it doesn't seem it is down to the drivers anymore, its down to strategy and tire choices and management. this is very dissapointing.
it's not a fair gid of race cars, some of them with KERs others not ,and some cars have a better diffuser or package than other cars. So, i feel it does't make any sense watching F1

I am sorry to say that, but lately English teams became expert in turn the F1 into a big joke.
dcamarg5 2 years ago
You're right, you could see how the strategy—or rather the tactical decisions made during the race—were going to play out from the first stop. Since Barrichello took command of the race from the start, I have to say he got screwed by Brawn when they left him on a three-stop, even though they all insist they thought the three-stopper was the faster way to go.
streamlinedman 2 years ago
that's true Brawn screwed Barri. big time.
that is the first time i've seen a useless switch to a 3 stop strategy when u have the lead and lapping faster with a heavier fuel load. F1 is shit these days
zabraoota 2 years ago
Another Quality report victoria, good work. firstly the move between Alonso & Webber has to get move of the season, 2nd Im not big on the new turns added for the GP, they are somewhat fiddly & do not flow with the rest of the track they could do with revising. 3rd no refuelling, will this result on harder tires being used more, less stops overall, people running longer, if so it would make, monaco, spain & hungry a precession, making overtaking due to pit stops even harder. What are your views?

I can`t beleive Barrichello has become a second driver once again , I would of thought he had enought of that driving with Shumacher . Button is quicker anyway and the English team obviously wants to take care of their boy , If I was Barrichello I would retire before the next race and go back to brazil and improve his handicap , who knows we might see Rubens win PGA tournament

3star2nr 2 years ago
I would disagree - watching him drive that car beyond it's limit, is inspiring for me. It proves to all those critics what a phenomenal driver he is, how much he cares and what he can deliver.... alonso has the same skill... button is brilliant in a great car, but I'm not sure he has the same ability in a bad one.

i woud have to disagree hun, i have always been a button fan, always have said that if he was given a better car he would be up there. i personaly think they should put button and hamilton in the same team imagine the marketing for that and mr brawn and branson

Don't thay already have a suspended sentence because of last years racial abuse?
Its pretty clear that they will be in real trouble now.

Eddie Jordan mentioned that... do you think they will follow it up?

They have to! They have their sponsors and marketing to think about. They cant be seen to endorse racism through non-action!

As for the racism thing, there will always be some who take that viewpoint, not really surprising in Spain with it's sad history.
