It's a trio of musicians. Akira Yamaoke (composer), Joe Romersa (Lyrics) and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (voice, who's best known for her works in voice acting). They made this especially and only for the Silent Hill videogames (unitl Shattered Memories).

@Ren95 except when you cant feel anymore terror, when you cant enjoy anything anymore. when you cant do anything to make yourself happy. thats when you realize everything has gone to far. then you realize your lifes been wasted and a massive depression kicks in.

@perfecttakara That is not, neccessarily, linked to de-sensitization as regards fear - that is more de-sensitization towards a good deal of emotions, and is very much linked into a general state of hopelessness, apathy and depression. My sympathies - I know that state. It wont be ouside inputs like this that have neccessarily started things like that. Try to feel again, try to find enjoyment and interest around you. Try to find purpose and worth - not my achievement, by enjoyment and such.

Silent Hill has a great soundtrack, but i think they should let the series rest. And Shattered memories is the most horribly made Silent hill game ever made among the series.

Me encanta Akira Yamaoka. No entiendo como dejo Konami y sigue producciendo toda la musica de los Silent hill, ¿Un serie de juegos como esta, de una compañia como Konami, dependen de un musico...? ¿Tendra mas que ver en el juego? desde que se fue de Konami en 2009 le perdi la pista. @CodieSilver It doesn't have a name yet. The only thing I know is that the main character (Murphy Pendleton) is a prisoner, and that Akira Yamaoka doesn't make the soundtrack anymore. Daniel Licht (he makes the soundtrack of the "Dexter" series) will be his successor. There's already a trailer, and I think Daniel Licht does a good job.

In an interview he said that he is a little familiar with the Silent Hill series, he played Silent Hill 2 and Homecoming before, and that he will use industrial sounds with keyboards and guitars, tortured ambiences and driving percussion, and also some mandolin to pay respects to the first game.
