One of the cool things about the Mellotron, to me, is that the strings sound a little distorted, which gives these songs their spooky feel. Like Dark Shadows, the scary soap opera in the seventies.
When I was a boy in the 70s, a local TV station use to run a commercial promoting "The Twilight Zone". It was a montage of some of the most fantastical moments from that show accompanied with this song.
That commercial used to send shivers down my spine. How heavy and profound it seemed.
@polycarpx I wonder if the moody blues knew they used the song a radio station used thinking is the best way to travel as the theme for a talk show another radio talk show had jonathan king but he didnt play his records my father used to listen to that but he wasnt aware he made records moody jill makes the best moody blues videos

Just freakin awsome!!! lol...The video segment at 1:16 of the rolling night sky and at 1:56 of the swirling bats is truly incredible with the music and gives one goosebumps as someone had mentioned before! Brilliant Jill!.
Side two of Days of Future Passed has given me more joy and comfort than any other album side I've ever heard. (I guess people no longer refer to album sides very often.)
