Your hair is pretty. There is NO WAY I can just shake my hair around and it come out like that! If I have it in a ponytail, when I take my headband off - my hair is still in the shape of a ponytail and stays that way until I wash it!

2nd Day hair shake out is, after you have washed your hair and have worn it the first day styled, you sleep on it that night in a pony tail with a silk bonnet, the 2nd day, instead of rewetting the hair or doing your hair from scratch (Washing it), you shake the hair out as curlychronicles has shown in the video and finger style. I do this often and can sometimes get 3rd and 4th hair day out of it.

I do not know what I am doing wrong but I cannot seem to get this style down at all and I love it sooooo much! I tried Dr. Akbari's way but it never seems to work in my favor. my curls are never defined they end up looking like a regular afro and not curly at all (which is the whole point of the "curly fro" lol)! If you can give me tips please do!!!

Hey Addie05 the Akbari method didn't work for me either, so now I do a braid instead of a two strand twist and then tuck it under. It works so much better for me. I love it and so does everybody else!

I am fairly new to being a loose (non-locked) natural after having locks for 10+ years. So, once my TWA grows out, I'll have a lot to learn! But back in my high school days, I had a texturizer. My question is, as I recall, my wet sets (ie twists etc plus water/setting lotion) lasted a full week! Yet, as I am picking up around here, folks now a days are happy to have their sets last 4 days! ... How long do your wet sets last? Do you use setting lotion (or anything like it)? Thanks.

Huh! That looked really good at the end. Who would have thunk it? I can't tie my hair up yet, but when I can I'll do what you did. Thats pretty fast and easy to do. When my hair was straight I would have to do a lot more to get it looking nice to wear out.

it'll be frizzy by day 3 normally but i just keep it in a high ponytail so it doesn't get too smushed :)
