Chufil, Archie is wonderful. The producers chose this "boring" song for him to sing, he rearranged it to make it more contemporary and wanted to play the piano but he was told to keep it as is.
Type in David Archuleta EW interview Part 3 where he talks about it. He had to play by their rules, just like Syesha had to sing the penquin song.
Archuleta is the best vocalist of all AI. cook is only another rock musician and his fans have to worry is with Daughtry, who is so many times better than him. Archie is other kind of singer, more sophisticated and unique.
And the songs he had to sing in AI were part of a list and themes predefined. He didn't have too much choice.

Yes that is true. They took David's song from him and gave it to DC. Then chose Longer for him to sing. He made it a hip hop song but they came to him the day before and said NO you have to do original version. They are pimping up DC for the win by not letting DA show his originality by changing songs. They want DC to do it but no one else.
He doesn't have a low range and doesn't have the fullness in his voice as David Cook does and it was the producer's choice probably because they knew Cook would do a better job with it.

Not sure why David would apologize without Simon saying anything (he's just a really naive kid like that, I guess). Anyways, that's how I interpret David's apology, which was not called for. David sang this song beautifully.

I don't care for rock style of cook. I can listen to David Archuleta every day, listen to his CD album songs, and never get tired of his voice. Archie has won my heart. I am with him all the way and wish him the best in his wonderful musical career. Have fun in UK Tour with McFly.

Another point of interest, David wanted to do an updated version of this song, ala Sara Bareilles, and the AI producers wouldn't allow him to. They told him they wanted him to keep it simple.

Chufil, Archie is wonderful. The producers chose this "boring" song for him to sing, he rearranged it to make it more contemporary and wanted to play the piano but he was told to keep it as is.
Type in David Archuleta EW interview Part 3 where he talks about it. He had to play by their rules, just like Syesha had to sing the penquin song.

Archuleta is the best vocalist of all AI. cook is only another rock musician and his fans have to worry is with Daughtry, who is so many times better than him. Archie is other kind of singer, more sophisticated and unique.
And the songs he had to sing in AI were part of a list and themes predefined. He didn't have too much choice.

You can thank the producers for that. In an interview, David said he wanted to change this to a Sara Bareillis type tempo but since it was the producers choice, they said he had to sing it simple. In other words, they wanted it to be boring. And he had been approved for 2 weeks to sing I Don't Want to Miss A Thing and they took it and gave it to Cook. David did very well considering the deck was stacked against him.

You could even hear David Cook singing a song that has this type of flow and he can sing about 3x better than this piece of shit! Yes that is true. They took David's song from him and gave it to DC. Then chose Longer for him to sing. He made it a hip hop song but they came to him the day before and said NO you have to do original version. They are pimping up DC for the win by not letting DA show his originality by changing songs. They want DC to do it but no one else.

He doesn't have a low range and doesn't have the fullness in his voice as David Cook does and it was the producer's choice probably because they knew Cook would do a better job with it.
That said, I love Dan Fogelberg and thought Archie did relatively good with it.
