  • I love ur experiments wth liquid nitrogen ;)

  • Oh nooooo! u killed it...... -_-

  • Did he really just pour that on the floor??? Why? And those squishy thingies are like $1 last time I went shopping which was yesterday.

  • Its Alive!

  • Did you say holy cow ? lol

  • that laugh is genius ghihihi

  • Hypothesis, not theories.

  • IT WAS HALF PRICE!! THATS AMAZING

  • at 2:21 the first thing that ran through my mind was the guy from the frankenstein movie saying, "It's aliiiiive!" xD

  • i love the flat Stanley in the background

  • Its Alive!!!!!

Im pretty sure I saw it smile at me...

  • awsome

  • Yeah just dump the dangerously cold liquid onto the ground, no one will notice.

  • @Atrixeagle1 Liquid nitrogen boils at 77 K and the carpeted floor is nearly 300 K so, after a second or two, no one will notice.

  • @Atrixeagle1 it evaporates before it even hits the floor

  • @Atrixeagle1 Lol, dangerously... Sureee.

  • haha i was doing my social studies homework i guess wrong subject but very cool (lol) and hw not had much (not at all)

  • incredible experiment

  • When I seen the start it looked like portal 2

  • I liked the part were Science became cool.

  • would love to stay and watch but i hear koosh balls are half price!! i have to get involved!

  • I learned everything I need to know about liquid nitrogen from Mighty Ducks 3

  • i want a koosh ball! D:

  • is it cold or warm ?

  • @MakeYouSound The liquid nitrogen? It's very, very cold.

  • @JeffersonLab isn't it exactly 0 kelvins?

  • @t8rtot01 No. 0 Kelvin is absolute zero. Liquid nitrogen boils at 77 K. So, still cold, but well above absolute zero.

  • that...was...AWESOME

  • It's ALIVEE!!

  • The first thing he thought was "I wonder what would happen if I put this in liquid nitrogen." That's the same thing I would have thought

  • Stop! You're killing it!

  • That kinda remembered me of running around in kindergarden with all these koosh balls.. :-D

  • This video got me out of the cat section of youtube. IT CAN BE DONE!!!!!!!!! >: D

  • changing my major to whatever his job is

  • @JeffersonLab It's a shame that you don't have the funding for such amazing and eventful learning experiences.

  • that woulda been hilarious if it popped when he smacked it

  • Look at those old mac computers d: I remember my elementary school library had those

  • 2:22 hee hee hee

  • Its ALIVEEEE!!!1

  • Thums up if you saw the light up thing

  • the light ball whas like im freeee

  • I'm in the cool part of youtube.

  • FOR SCIENCE!

  • ITS ALIVE

  • it looks almost like a baby pink thing screaming "WHAT A WORLD WHAT A WORLD IM MELTING.."

  • Oh yeah! My koosh ball is gonna pay for the little light up ball going out on me >:D

  • JIGGLYPUFF NOOOOOOO

  • @2011climax wow ice beam was a lil bit too effective...xD

  • I love how you subtitled Hee Hee Hee

  • Would a frozen block of nitrogen explode if you poured a hot liquid on top of it?

  • @alexicon89 There are ways you could make it do it, sure.

  • You see a big pink koosh ball and say: lets put liquid nitrogen in it!!

I would say if i saw one: awww, i wanted a blue one!!

  • I went to one of northwester's scince lab and we made ice cream and froze marshmellos and crackers and did a trick with a bing-pon ball and it went spining

  • I no it's a stupid question but war would happen if you drank liquid nitrogen

  • @mrniall97 Well, you saw what it did to the koosh ball. If you insides are similar to it, they would do a similar thing.

  • @mrniall97 nothing good.

  • @mrniall97 you would die...

  • I got a huge urge to eat the pieces when they dumped it out. O_O

  • I wonder if I can freeze it in liquid nitrogen? not the first thing that pops in my head when i look at stuff...but super cool anyway.

  • Yes SMART idea pouring the stuff all over the floor go job!!!

  • @TraffleKing I'm assuming that you've never actually used liquid nitrogen before. If you had, you'd know that when liquid nitrogen (which boils at 77 K) comes into contact with a carpeted floor (that's near 300 K), the nitrogen rapidly boils away, changing to a gas that then mixes with the air (which is 78% nitrogen to begin with). So, as long as the room is large enough, it is a SMART idea.

  • @JeffersonLab what about if it was liquid nitrogen and you put a gummy bear inside and where did you pour the extra liquid nitrogen

  • @JeffersonLab Way to own the troll :P

    Awesome vid btw

  • @TraffleKing while we're on the subject of "Rapidly boils away" I think that's what they also refer to as a "Burn" :D sorry but you did ask for it trying to patronize scientists on their own channel!

  • you know you're a nerd when you see a child's toy and you immediatley think what would happen if i dipped this in liquid nitrogen. DFTBA

  • those are very nice macs.

  • thats the first thing you thought of???? more of a mad scientist

    look an ipad !

im gonna put it in liquid nitrogen bwahaha

  • I saw a koosh ball in the mall for half price too. The first thing I thought of was to put it in liquid nitrogen.

  • SCIENCE!

  • poor bally!

  • poor bally! :(

  • Pop!

  • Pop Goes The Koosh Ball

  • How much would it be to purchase liquid nitrogen?

  • @ConnorLAA182 For us? About $1 per gallon.

  • @JeffersonLab how much for me and where

  • @ZTJFStudios If you're just getting a gallon, I wouldn't be surprised if they charge you around $20. That's if they would even sell it to you. If they think you're going to hurt yourself or someone else with it (by not having a proper container to carry it in, by planning on transporting it in a car, etc...), they know that they are the ones who the lawyers are going after. As for where, try a welding supply shop. But, again, that assumes you have the proper training and equipment.

  • @JeffersonLab really that a good price

  • @JeffersonLab THATS IT?!?! 1$?!?!?! i should buy some and experiment too :3

  • tht's really the FIRST thing you thought of ?

  • @kikibluex That's a good first reaction to almost everything.

  • I'm a little disappointed by the use of the word "science" do describe any of this.

  • @mmclees You have a question, you devise an experiment, you observe the results. Just because it's simple doesn't mean it isn't science.

  • hi

  • ... For a lab, those computers are awesome... -.-'

  • IT'S ALIVEEEEE!!!

  • HELF PRICE, OMG!

  • Wohoo!

  • See that's what's funny most people when they see a koosh ball at the mall they will play with it but you decide it would be more fun to put it in liquid nitrogen

  • lol i dont think theres gas in it considering its made for kids.

  • @memkayful Well, the possibilities are kind of limited. It wasn't filled with a solid or a liquid or a plasma. The only choice left is a gas.

  • @memkayful oxygen is a gas

  • @ascuteaskittens Oxygen can be a gas, liquid, or a solid.

On earth it naturally exists as a gas.

  • did you say half price?!

  • so if i threw this at someone would they die or just melt

  • @commalTl Well, it's not the Wizard of Oz, so no one is going to melt. At best, nothing happens. At worst, so much damage is done to the person that they die. It depends on the amount that got on the person and how long it stayed in contact with them.

  • @commalTl didnt expect them to actually answer it did ya?

  • Hasta la vista, baby.

  • Let's get rid of this. *dumps liquid nitrogen onto floor* -5 mins later-

I think we might need a new carpet...

  • Why was your first thought to put it in liquid nitrogen?

Who thinks of these things? xD

  • I expected more :(

  • lik halfway through da vid i was lik,

i dont care! just put it in!!!!

  • You say 'Oh my cow' too!!!!!

  • Thank you so much for putting captions on the video. It really makes a difference to some of us.

  • Thats cool

  • can we just watch the ball go in licquids

  • the epic laugh at 2:23 XD hahaha

  • is that really what you think about when your at the mall lol

  • HALF. PRICE.

  • *pours liquid nitrogen one shoes* oh well atleast im wearing safety goggles XD

  • it's alive!!

  • Reminds me of "strange creatures washed out in japan"

  • ...And it went, KOOSH!

  • You sure like Liquid Nitrogen (And old Emacs)

  • HALF. PRICE.

  • hee hee hee

  • thats the first thing you thought of to dip it in liquid nitrogen?

  • thanks for showing this i allways wonderd what would happen

  • Yeah! iMac first generation!!!

  • so when u see a big rubber ball the first thing that pops into your mind is " wat would happen if i put this is liquid nitrogen?" how about " i wonder what would happen if i squeeze this

  • I see a Nobel prize in your future.

  • He loves the ball he didn't want to do it....

  • Flat stanley in the backround

  • reminds me of the flag show from the big bang theory lol

  • Ok lets get rid of this (dumps liquid nitrogen on the floor) 2:43 - 2:51

  • Just hit 7

    hee hee hee

  • 2:30 IT'S ALIVE!!! oh now its dead...

  • 2:20 holy crap, that thing almost looks alive and trying to survive D:

    ~Jkun~

  • NO PINKY my childhood friend!

  • reminds me of a sea erchine sorry for the mispelling lol

  • Press 1 ... "Science"

  • the first thing u thought when u saw it?

  • @JeffersonLab probably ^^ thanks for the hint ^^

  • Wait a minute... I thought I was watching Alien?

  • "Let's get rid of this" *casually pours liquid nitrogen on the floor* haha

  • Love the sneaky "hehehe" at 1:25 :)

  • 0:59 he's scared shes gunna pop the ball

  • wow

  • Half! Price! XD

  • I subbed.

  • nice!

  • Remember kids the best way to dispose of liquid nitrogen is to pour it on the ground

  • boom!

  • You can just dump liquid nitrogen on the floor??? hope it isn't slippery... >.>

  • @cmbdragon666 Not slippery at all. It boils away within a second or so.

  • @JeffersonLab ....... your videos eventually led me to the weird part of youtube..... it was scary...... >_<

  • @JeffersonLab I'm sorry but you just ruined the fun of cmbdragon666's joke. jusss sayyen!

  • @tubzoffunn Not much of a joke...

  • @cmbdragon666 i was about to say the exact same thing

  • @cmbdragon666 It skates around like water on a searing hot skillet as it evaporates. The pressure of the gas evaporating cushions the drops, and they "hover" (for lack of my knowing a better term) on the expanding gas. It is interesting to pour it down a cement or metal stairway (not carpet) and watch it skate over the surface. But as always, be careful, very, very cold. Also well ventillated area.

  • @cmbdragon666 it actually cleans the floor haha, the dust particles fly to the edges of the room

  • @cmbdragon666 Liquid Nitrogen boils at −321 °For at −196 °C,

  • Getting rid of the liquid was easy... I bet clean up the smashed koosh ball was a pain XD

  • @vroom4999 It wasn't that bad. We just picked up the tablecloth, carried it to the garbage can, and poured the koosh ball bits in.

  • @JeffersonLab how would i go about getting my hands on some of this

  • Hasta La Vista

    Koosh Ball.

  • I don't know about you guys, but I love liquid nitrogen.

  • lol emacs.

  • great, it turned into heart candies

  • "It's not collapsing"

"It self destructed... which wasn't expected..."

    >_>

  • is that really what you think of when you're at the mall just kidding that was really cool

  • "Let's get rid of this stuff." [just pours it on the floor, where it evaporates]

    Chemistry is awesome!

  • i love how he just pours the liquid nitrogen out on the floor.

  • Oh, the fun I would have with liquid nitrogen.

  • 2:20 THE BEAST IS BREATHING

  • Evil laugh attempt at 2:21

  • that is what i always think when i see those .............

  • OMG LEAVE THE PINK BALL ALONE i love those things THIS IS abuse i tell u LOL

  • nice laugh camera guy xD

  • Quit squeezing it!

  • HALF

    PRICE

  • :O squishy ball!!!!!!!!!!

  • hmmmm fantastic!

The highlight of the video was at 2:32

  • 00:15 yeah ive been wondering that my whole life aswell...

  • you've gotta be pretty darn scientific if that's the first thing that pops into your head. the first thing that would have popped into my head would be "half price". but i have always wondered about random stuff going into liquid nitrogen. my curiosity is satisfied!
