the word mohammy uses in arabic, i forget the word, states he "found" the sun set in a spring of muddy water. This same word is used several times, including in the same sentence regarding the people he "found" there. So, either the people are an apparition or illusion, like the sun going down, just like erdwe45 says, or he is wrong and mohammy meant it literaly went into a muddy spring and he literally found people there. Which is it, erdwe?

God commanded ibliss to bow again, but he again refused... angels were suprised by ibliss's pride and refusal so out of fear of God they bowed again for the second time..That is where we get the two bowings in our islamic prayer, where we bow and touch our forheads to the ground.
